 Hearts v Dundee

1-0 to Hearts after 3 minutes. I had hoped that this game might be a draw as it might not be best if Hearts get off to a flyer.

I was hoping for a draw, but that looks unlikely.

Dundee #5 looks just as poor as he was last year and turns like a pipe band.

Realistically I can’t see anything other than Hearts topping the table and Dundee will be one of the contenders with us fighting for the playoffs, on that basis getting 3pt ahead of them from the starting block and ahead of ICT wouldn’t be a bad start.

2-0 Hearts are going to be tough to beat this season. Charlie Adam pulled one back with a great solo goal to make it 2-1

3-1 penalty from lucky penalty. The new handball rule is crazy. For Dundee Charlie Adam has been excellent.

Be interesting to see how long he lasts for before tunning out of steam but he has had some beautiful weighted passes.

Dundee defense are leaky. The goal Dundee scored was complacency from Hearts, thought Adam would.ve passed out by the time he made the box

Could end up a cricket score. Dundee are rank awful. Charlie Adam has class touches but I doubt if he.s got the engine to stay the distance here.

Could end up 7-1. Think Adam.s legs have gone already and Ashy, Dorrans and the rest don.t look so good either.

Now we have that old Pars favourite Elvis giving his views at half time

Hearts will run away with the league.

Pars are 9/2 with Hills in the betting without Hearts. Each way 3 places 1/5th odds, so almost a bet to nothing.
I’ve had a decent bet

Think it's a bit premature to be saying Hearts will run away with it .
Dundee look like a pub team .
Would've fancied the Pars getting off to a flier against this Dundee side at home 1st game .

Maybe they will .
Still think it's a bit premature to be awarding them a walkover before most teams have kicked a ball .

Massive difference in Afolabi, staying on his feet and showing strength.

Why is Anne Budge in the ground? She has no reason to be there.

It seems boards and especially chairs are attending most closed doors games, it seems to me that they can reasonably justify that in ensuring the correct protocols are following, something they are ultimately reasonable for.

Hearts probably will run away with it unless their usual injury record kicks in but then the size of squad is a huge advantage over any other team in the league.

Dundee, it doesnt look like theyve fixed a lot of the problems from last season.

Didn.t Dundee abandon playing with three centre backs at half-time in the opening game against us last season just as they did tonight? They seem to be slow learners.

Pretty much confirmed what most of us knew. Hearts streets ahead and the rest of us will be fighting for the Play Off Spots.
Would be concerned if I was a Dundee fan though. That midfield they have - Dorrans, Adam and McGowan looks slow as hell although capable of the odd moment of magic -Adam's goal tonight was a peach. Would fancy the Pars chances against them this season if they don't add some youth and legs in that midfield.

Awight Pat!

Interesting to see the polarising opinions on Adam when he signed on the post here a feww weeks ago.

Pretty much summed it up last night from both points of view i thought. Moments of class and a few lovely touches - as well as the goal - but severely lacking when they didn't have the ball.

Not the only one though; need a lot of 'legs' to cover for him and Dorrans whilst that Forster/Ashcroft pairing in defence isn't exactly bursting with pace.
