For the goal, a careless touch by Thomas gave them the momentum and put us on the back foot.

ICT look miles better than us, technically. Just hope it’s a slow start and we’re trying to get in to it. We did have an excellent chance with that free header. That’s Nisbet and it’s a goal. That’ll maybe be our downfall this season...

Edwards looks like the weak link as well. He is quick and decent going forward but positioning and defending is questionable. Yet to see what O’Hara does for this team as well.

Early days but there's very little evidence of a partnership forming between the front 2.

Wilson looks the part in midfield.

Dow and Thomas hardly getting a touch so far.

Hopefully improve in the second half

ICT controlled the first 20 mins it.s then been all Dunfermline. Very confident in the team showing real quality getting forward and composed at the back. Definitely confidant that we will win three points today.

Were looking poor all over the park. Missing Whittaker. Being over run in midfield. 2nd to every ball and not winning second balls, I would be making changes at half time. Murray & McInroy on for Turner and Wilson. At least 1 change required. Inverness are getting so much space. Canny get any worse. Hopefully some stern words at half time. Looks like a pre season friendly. Hopefully a game of 2 half’s and we come out on top in the second half.

Thought Wilson was doing pretty well considering he has been there on his own... But the front two look like they.ve never even met each other, could argue they still haven.t after that. And Thomas is struggling to get a pass away. Lucky to be going in even

Our forwards are having to live off scraps just now because there isn.t much quality in our play , it.s early days so hopefully we come out in the second half like games of late and up the tempo and get a goal or two !!
would be nice if it was from out forwards , but I will take a goal or two from anyone in a Pars jersey , we need the win though so we are sitting at the right end of the table from the start

It.s good to have in Wilson a midfielder who likes the ball and doesn.t just run around like a headless chicken like so many midfielders we.ve had recently. I.d like to see him getting forward to link up with O.Hara and McManus though. Maybe bring on McInroy to complement him.

Can.t understand the amount of negative posters today. Suggestions that ICT were the better team and dictated the game I don.t get at all. They caught us cold with the first goal but to come away with a 3-1 victory is excellent. Thought we dominated the second half.

Some poor individual performances with Thomas and MCmanus being the worst. But we dug in and generally defended well from the 2nd minute.

Excellent result in the end and a great start, we will be difficult to beat, playing well or not.

Very good win for the Pars today,ICT started very well, but we didnt panic and came more into the game...we created plenty of chances and in the end could have won by more.....the people saying ICT were the better team must have been watching another match....I wasnt impressed with Declan in the first half but his goal was a beauty....I really like Dom Thomas and he is going to cause problems for teams this season......Really happy , the win today has made my day....CRAWFORD IN.

First game of the season, shouldn’t get ahead of ourselves, but what a telling result that could be.

Previous campaigns we’ve done excellent in the BetFred cup and then can’t carry the form into the league.

Inverness are a team we always tend to struggle against and who will be playoff contenders so to win is a great result, to come back from 1-0 down as well shows the professionalism.

I have to give great credit to Crawford, astute recruitment which he did early and he’s got the ability to manage a game correctly, something AJ for example couldn’t do.

A really positive start.

Some fans on here are clues. We controlled that game pretty much from start to finish. Other than their goal they had nothing else worth talking about. Thomas & Dow ran the show and the midfield were decent. With the exception of their goal the back 4 were solid and handled everything perfectly. If ICT are top 4 contenders then we’re contenders for the title.

I’m here to take over!!

And, that's with some players off the boil a bit.

A ver important victory today. This is the sort of game that we must win if we are to be a challenger this season. Key takeaways:

- despite two or three players being under-par today we still won against one of the league.s top clubs.

- we came back from going a goal down to win decisively against a team and manager who often get the better of us.

- we are scoring from set pieces and from open play.

- we have some real gamechanging talent on the bench should it be needed.

- O.Hara needs to get on the scoresheet soon. His first and second touches are really not up to scratch right now.

- 1,630 fans paid to watch the game today. Everything seemed to work. Burty is a good commentator and Brian has done a super job behind the scenes.

- Pars TV is a great service and 12 quid is a very reasonable price to pay to help keep our club alive.

- It is 3.20 in the morning here in Oz... why am I still awake???

Great post Oz. Agree. Very pleased for Brian that things seemed to go well. I had a flawless feed today using Chrome and very professional production today with some added new features. Thanks Brian, Burty and rest of the team.

After a slack start and soft goal we were better side for the majority of the game. Notables were Thomas who looks class in this league. Defence was solid after the ICT goal. Midfield done well, forwards had a tough time but kept at it. Brilliant start to the season.
Murray and mcinroy done well when they came on too. Loads to be positive about.

ICT bossed us early days and deserved their goal. Give our guys their due though, there was no panic and they gradually clawed their way back into the game. Hopeful, long balls gradually gave way to neater passing - still a way to go though, IMHO. Thought Thomas was very good. Also Murray. Was kind of frustrated by Declan McManus ........ until he scored. Wow! What a screamer. All in all a very good first game. Perhaps could come out of the traps a bit quicker and get in the opposition faces, but other than that very pleased for the team and Stevie C. Looking forward to the next outing .......... already.

think he got lucky with the tackle in the first half which looked a bit naughty but apart from that, another very assured performance from Wilson.

Todorov going off injured definitely had an impact but overall i thought we had decent control of the game without being at our best and deserved the win. a good solid start to work from.

Good result, thought we were the better team for most of it, don.t think we had any failures, although a few players were a little off form. It might take a bit of time for McManus and O.Hara to develop an understanding, both gave the ball away too much first half. I think O.Hara will come good though, he is a threat in behind.

The negativity on here was pretty ridiculous during the game. I didn.t recognise the stuff folk were saying. We looked pretty capable all through the game and probably should have scored more. But each to their own.

I would have Declan up front and try O hara behind him. The rest of the lads including the subs did well. However I think that we lucky that Todorov had to go off.

Apart from the goals i thought the game was pretty meh, we defo need to start pressing teams because they get out of their own half far too easy, and personally i think we should be playing it out from the back at goal kicks, because i think we only only retained possesion once, but apart from that, a good start

Some absolute roasters on here. Great result, cracking performance, thoroughly deserved win, what more do you want?

Defence were good, ICT didn’t create much, Wilson looks like he’s got something about him, good to see a Pars team with some presence.

I thought we deserved to win in the end, but I can also see why some folk might have though Inverness were better in some areas. Over the whole game, I.d say they looked a bit better in possession than we did. Also, their pressing us in our own half did often force us to go long, which usually wasn.t effective. And finally, our setup seemed to allow them a lot of space when they came through midfield in the first half, though that stopped after half time.

However, although they kept the ball a bit better, they had absolutely nothing at the end of it. The only time I can remember them coming remotely close after their goal was when our keeper pushed a corner away then got down quickly to make a save straight afterwards. Aside from that, pretty much all the scoring chances were for us.

It wasn.t a bad game in the first half, though got a bit scrappy for the first 20 minutes of the second half. That might well be because we tightened things a bit, to stop giving away so much space. Not really possible to see if there was a subtle change in our setup after half-time when not looking at the full pitch, but we certainly seemed a bit more solid, at the expense of not being quite such a good game.

Great goal from McManus to kill the game, and the way the chance finaly fell to him was just down to his own hard work. That was typical of the type of player he is, but the finish after holding his man off twice and working the space was wonderful.

Interesting game to watch, they pressed us really high in the first half to prevent us from building up to get our wingers in play, this eventually caught up with them becoming tired in the second half. The first 20 mins they were all over us, but it makes such a difference that set pieces have become a threat for us, it gets you back into a game when you can't quite get anything out of open play.

The injury of Todorov was huge and didn't give them a focal point up front, they did not look comfortable playing it into feet to get forward. Our creative players came through and led to us really dominating the majority of the 2nd half. Not seeing a link between Mcmanus and O'Hara as of yet but seems to be tiring teams out having to account for them as in every second half we've been excellent so far. A strikers job isn't just to score goals and currently we're finding other ways to get the ball in the net, I do think we need another option going forward, but not sure if the right player is available for us to bring in currently. Overall looking at our defence I'm so pleased we have Murray and Watson, both compliment each other well and are composed passers at the back which makes a huge difference. Not getting carried away yet obviously, but I think as a team even without Nisbet we look more structured and secure than last season. Hopefully we can continue this good run of form

A lot of plus points today.

I thought Wilson played really well, very composed on the ball. Keeps things simple.

Thought Dom at times could’ve done some things a bit quicker and simpler, he had Wallace Duffy on toast at times.

Great to final get excited at set plays

Back 4 looks very solid. THink Edwards and Comrie are growing in confidence.

It has been some years since we have had a manager who can effectively change a game with his tactical shifts. The progress being made by Stevie Crawford is quite impressive and there is much to be admired about his low-key approach. In recent games, we have seen marked improvements in our performances in the second halves and the results are there for all to see - four wins on the trot.

Fon Williams is a competent goalkeeper, though he does have his vulnerabilities. But overall, I think he.s the steadiest hands we have had since Murdoch. The four at the back look strong. Comrie and Edwards are effectively linking with Dow and Thomas, and Watson and Euan Murray can dominate corners whether in defence or attack. We have excellent cover in those positions with Martin, Mayo and even Whittaker.

Utilising Whittaker or Wilson in a defensive midfield slot just in front of the back four is proving effective. They add some extra defensive steel while both have the ability to spread play and find the right passes.

In central midfield, Turner has markedly improved this season. He.s twisting and turning, passing and spreading play better and more accurately than before. McInroy and Fraser Murray both offer box-to-box alternatives and at last, we have real goal threats coming from free kicks and corners.

Up front, McManus works hard, constantly posing problems for opposition defenders. That goal was just reward and should give him a lot of confidence. On the other hand, O.Hara has yet to click in this team. His first and second touches are horrible and he is coming a little bit too deep at times. Often, he was to be seen hovering around the centre circle when he should really have been in a position to harass the last defender. Next game is Alloa, so we have to hope that this will be the game where he makes his breakthrough and gets his striker confidence back.

We should remember that Nisbet took a while to settle too, but look what he did once he got into his stride.

McCann has not yet lived up to his promise. Late on in the game he was given an opening that he rather wasted. He shows signs of having what it takes. there have been games where he has hit fine shots from the edge of the box and gone very close. I think he might come good, but this will be the season when he has to do it. He will likely get opportunities to play more central than he has done in the past. Again, hitting the net could prove a turning point for him. We have to hope so.

With Gabby McGill gone, we definitely need another striker on the books.

Overall though, we should be pretty happy with the work being done by Crawford, Shields and Dair. The side seems to be gelling quite well and already, after the first league game, we have a 3 point gap and a healthy goal difference between ourselves and Dundee and Caley, the two teams generally regarded as our most serious threats for a playoff position.

Onwards and upwards, Pars!

That.s the first time I.ve seen the Pars this season.

I though Wilson looked great from about half way through the first half. Really composed, great in possession and can find a pass.

I can.t remember I time when I.ve felt so positive about our threat at set pieces. Obviously BMMMH was amazing, but he was the threat all on his own. Now it seems like we.re a threat as a team.

It.s very, very early, but beating ICT is not something that we.ve found easy in recent years. Great start.

I agreed with much of Oz.s analysis but was intrigued by this section about McCann who didn.t feature at all yesterday! Who was this mystery player who wasted an opening late on?

Sorry wee eck, you are absolutely right. I was confusing it with an incident late on in the Kilmarnock game where McCann was fed through a great ball by Dow.

He basically was one-on-one with a Killie defender and a goalie to beat. I think it was Thomas who was up in support and moving into open space to his left, but McCann moved right, losing momentum and allowing time for Killie defenders to come back. He eventually ended up losing his options and firing weakly from a poor angle.

Thanks, Oz, I was beginning to mistrust my memory which isn.t as reliable as it used to be. McCann always seems to choose the wrong option but let.s hope the coaching staff can improve his decision-making.

Wilson seems to like the ball to do the work rather than his legs which is good. It would be interesting to see him play farther forward when Whittaker is available to play the holding role.
