Does anyone else find it difficult to view the goal frame and nets? Seems very busy with adverts etc behind the goals.

Maybe some new, thick white nets would help?

It's about a minute behind, so heard the tannoy before the corner was taken (so got excited before the ball was even in the box! 😂)

How strange that the tanoy announcer said 'let's hear it for Euan Murray'.. When there's no crowd? 🤔

Commentary is quality whoever is in charge of the mic. Also, the quickness of the replays is impressive, rapid in fact.

It's a completely stable stream for me so far. Instant replays and the commentary make it quite polished in most respects. Well done.

I don't know the first thing about how much the camera costs, and how much network equipment is required for a few thousand customers, but the quality could be better.

There's level of pixellation, and the way movement of both the ball and players is presented makes me feel like I'm seeing one frame in two.

Loving the commentary from Burty & the replays are impressive in terms of quickness etc.

Only downside is that it keeps buffering - disappointing for an official stream as last 10 mins in particular have become impossible to watch properly.

First game tho so loathed to complain 👏🏼👏🏼

The stream is stable for me. Picture quality is good and the commentary is good, although it would benefit from a co-commentator so we don't have to listen to the same chap all the time. Also, the camera motion is a bit jittery compared to other streams I've watch recently.

It's been perfect for me.

Couple of minor things about the setup,

Would be good to set your own password (I will definitely have forgotten the numbers by the next game!)

Being able to cast it to devices without a browser would be good.

Neil, Jordan is more than competent in commentating himself. Also remember there are restricted numbers for those in attendance.

Hi Buffy. I'm not debating Jordan's competence. It's just that most (if not all) streams I've watched so far this season have had a co-commentator. The resulting banter between the two is often amusing as well as insightful at times.

Agree completely. Not having a dig at Burty whatsoever but I’ve been on streams from numerous other clubs and they have 2 or even 3 commentators. It’s always nice to get a bit of a laugh between the commentators.

Laptop lost Internet during Andy Barrowman at half time - can't remember the last time it did that, so blooming typical it chose now!

I use Firefox & the stream didn't work at all on that browser so using unfamiliar platforms to get it working.

On Chrome now and seems ok so fingers crossed all OK til full time now 😎👍🏼

Absolutely no criticism of the Pars TV service intended, incidently - looks like my stupid laptop has caused me issues as unfortunately I missed the test streams.

Two commentators would greatly enhance the Pars TV service, particularly if the second person was an ex-pro who could offer the kind of perspective you get from people who have played at a good level.

2nd half stream still completely stable for me.

Perfect for me again.
Frame rate seemed slightly low and the pictures were a wee bit behind the commentary but I suspect that was my casting setup's doing.
Would agree that a second commentator would enhance the experience. A feed from a second camera would be even better but I could imagine that would add significant complexity and cost.

Well done Brian and team. After reading about issues with the expats subscribers in the past I thought there would be far more teething problems so hats off for the work that’s obviously been done.

who do you think we are ? SKY ?? LOL

we.ve talked about another camera and with the setup now and the numbers watching we can look into the possibility. However, problems of access around the ground may be an issue.

We know some people had drop off.s so we need to look at how we can help them.

thanks again.

Hi Brian. I had a flawless experience of Pars TV today, bar an audio drop in the Andy Barrowman interview.

If you’re looking for a co-commentator, I’d be delighted to come and get involved. I agree with others on that front - Burty was good today but would be even better with someone to bounce off of.

Great job today! 👍🏼

1st class comentary and was shocked to see how quick we got replays.

Good to have a half time filler, hopefully this will continue.

Only improvement I would like would be to have a .pundit. supporting the commentator if regulations allow.

Congratulations to all at ParsTV. I had no issues at all with the streaming - though the sound did go down briefly during the interview with Andy Barrowman. Thought Burty did brilliantly: jeez, I’d be tongue-tied after 30 seconds. Only comment otherwise is that it was very difficult to see the ball against the seats and despite the several replays I still can’t work out how our captain scored the first goal! (Presume it was a header?)

Thanks to Brian and the team. Stream worked well and was impressed with the presentation graphics etc

Like most others the sound on Barrowman cut out for a bit, and the stream buffered a couple of times in 2nd half, but other than those very minor niggles it was faultless.

Burty on commentary did a good job too. Would support the addition of a co-commentator if that was possible. Get wee Ben in.

Why are folk ignoring this? There’s restricted access to the gantry. There should have been another (official ParsTV) commentator there today but he wasn’t allowed access.

Good service today and just a little jumpy in the first half but didn't affect the viewing experience.
As to a co-commentator, yeah I was thinking along those lines but as was said, there often are guests but most people only watch highlights and for some reason Pars TV don't include commentary in these unlike many other clubs so they wouldn't know.
I'm just happy to be able to watch the pars though.

Picture froze 3 or 4 times in the first half and at times the picture quality wasn’t great. I’d echo the comments that seeing the ball in the goal area was difficult.

That said I thought it was a great first effort from a bunch of folk giving their time for free.

Shout out to Jordan - enjoyed your commentary.

Given that most folks are reporting relatively few problems, I would suspect that the folks that ‘are‘ experiencing poor quality, buffering and/or (frequent) drop outs, may be due to their own equipment . . . Personally, I used a low spec laptop for the East Fife game and it worked fine. however, today, I swapped to a higher spec notebook at half-time as I experiencing all of the above probs. Second half was a vast improvement. . . So, pretty sure it was my kit that was the source of my first-half problems.

Tech speak: your mileage may vary :)

I'd agree 100%
Depending on your device, it may be necessary to clear the cache etc.
Some internet/ devices might just not be up to the job of live streaming.

Good experience for my first time with Pars TV. No buffering at all - lost connection for about 1 minute at around the 50 minute mark but guessing that was a problem at my end.

Frame rate was maybe a little low and as many have said - the ball was hard to pick out at time with crosses coming into the box - but these are minor gripes that are easy enough to live with.

Keep up the good work.

Yeah mine was def problems at my end - no issues at all second half.

15/20 mins of buffering at the end of first half was frustrating but given my laptop dropped my Internet for the first time in god knows how long - it was prob typical it happened during the 90 mins today.

Unfortunately I wasn't able to buy my season ticket before this week due to being on the 80% furlough wages for 6 months so missed all the test streams.

Absolutely brilliant coverage by Pars TV - loved the commentary & instant replays & the substitution graphic made me laugh as it seems a bit in your face haha 🤔🤣👍🏼

Looking forward to next game now I know what browser works best 😎👏🏼

Possible issue with the amazon Silk browser on firestick. Will try chrome next game. I have virgin 200meg so hope no issues with that. Again huge thanks to all involved. Camera, sound, commentary and fast replays all huge plus point. We can all use the "bugs" today to help everyone in the long run.

Logged in initially at 2.30 ish with Firefox - told me stream was offline but a quick message to the live chat suggested changing browser.

Then used Microsoft Edge I think lol & it worked fine until about 30 mins in when the stream started constantly buffering until it finally gave up the ghost during Andy Barrowman at half time when I realised the laptop lost my internet connection.

Rebooted everything at half time & this time used Chrome with no issues at all in the second half, so obviously this is best to start next game with 😎👍🏼

Well done to all involved in setting up and delivering. I used HDMI cable on my MacBook to mirror onto large smart screen tv. Not sure what was causing the buffering, but changed from Safari to Chrome at half time and no issues.

Jordan’s commentary was excellent and all goals captured well by the camera work. A decent number of views too, 1,630.

It was very good for me. Just one short freeze for 3-4 seconds in the middle of the second half, but apart from that it was fine. Some folk have mentioned that the frame rate was a bit low - I.d suggest it was fine, and if streaming at a slightly lower data rate allows better reliability, it.s the right way to do it. Far better to have a slightly lower quality video feed than one with good quality most of the time that drops out often.

Well done everyone on getting it together, but Brian in particular. I.m sure there will have been some anxiety before the first stream to a big audience, so I.m really pleased for you that it came together well and most people had few issues. Thank you for the effort that went into this.

Thought it was an excellent service. No problems at all with the stream. I’d pre bought a pie from the butchers this morning for the full match experience.

Burty - “That’s surely the points in the bag.......” after the third goes in. FFS this is the Pars & there was still ten minutes to go. Please don’t say stuff like that!

Well done all involved with ParsTV - impressive stuff.

Sigh.

I accessed the trial runs during the week and it worked perfectly , after I had e-mailed Brian abt a problem I had , which was sorted . I thought no more abt it till i tried to watch today's game . With zero success . I'm a complete novice with all things tech , but why when it worked perfectly well during the week would it not today ,? After all , I carried out the identical procedures .
Happy everyone else had a good experience but can I be the only one who did not ?

Was the 1630 views just PPV or including season ticket holders? Seems quite high to be PPV only but a bit low if including ST holders. It would be interesting to see a breakdown of both - just to appease my nosiness!

I'd imagine it must include ST holders but you must remember lots of them are families, couples etc etc so this is bound to reflect on the figures.
I think it's quite a good total tbh.
It's a real shame the Hearts game is on TV as this would have been a real money spinner for the club.

Well put Socks. A big challenge and responsibility to have so many people tuning in. Delighted for Brian and the ParsTV team it went so well for the vast majority. As for resolution quality - thought it was very good. Very different from a few years ago when our internet connections and speed and technology were worse - Then one often couldn’t read a number on a shirt during live streaming. Today’s resolution is fabulous in comparison.

No problems at all for me, apart from the loss of sound during the AB interview, that Brian has explained.
I was so relieved for all the ParsTV team that there was no catastrophic failure, after all the hours they must have put in to get things right.
And well done to Burty for doing his homework as a commentator, and learning the names and how to identify all the ICT players - often even professionals refer to "the big bearded guy".

I.ve been using Pars TV for years, because I live overseas. There have been frustrations along the way, but the service has got better and better as time as gone on.

Who would have thought that we.d get to a time where Pars TV would become the club.s primary source of match day revenue? Well, that.s where we are now and the coverage is a credit to the club and everyone involved.

Have to agree BlackLight, the service over the past. 2 seasons has been commendable I think since a dedicated iinternet point went into the gantry and Brian moving to the new browser has made the viewing experience for all us expats more enjoyable.
Like i said last night the half time slot was a new breath of fresh air, it certainly beats Listening to David and Jordan munching into their brides.
Having Jordan commentating on his own is neither here nor there, am sure he is doing journalism at college/uni and he can talk for the 90 minutes no worries.
When David gets clearance to get back into the gantry it will be a welcome addition again.
My favourite có-commentator has to be Roy, his enthusiasm was welcomed over here certainly.

An enjoyable experience with the brief loss of sound at half-time the only blip. Thanks to everyone who worked so hard to provide this service.

Are all clubs obliged to stream their home matches so that Alloa will provide coverage of next week.s game?

Cheers, Brian. Let.s hope Alloa.s service matches Pars TV.s.

I was initially disappointed in the take-up figure of 1630 until I read AAPS.s comment about multiple users in one household which makes sense. On the other hand you would expect more away fans to view the game than would have made the journey from Inverness if there had been no Covid restrictions.

As I have already stated I had a great viewing experience, what I wanted to say was "after watching killie stream , I noticed at half time they had short ads from local businesses. Such as the killie pie maker"
I was wondering if you thought of doing this to bring in some much needed revenue into the club Brian?
As I said not a complaint merely a question

Well done from me too

Stream was very good, no buffying (!), just the loss of sound during the Andrew Barrowman interview (so I went to get my pie).

Burty was very well informed.

One thing - was there a delay? I noticed the scores were coming through on Sky about a minute before they happened on the stream. (Which made defending corners less stressful as I knew Inverness weren.t going to score).

Live streaming always has a delay. It depends on your provider how long the delay is. Sometimes when I watch sky news for example it is never oon the hour when the news starts.

Regarding the delay. If you "follow" Dunfermline on any live scoring app like flashscore etc you can mute the game so no notifications. Enhances the experience when streaming, but not for pussies.😉

Read all the above and wonder if those who had the dodgy stream and buffering problems and those who had no problems actually lies within the service broadband provider to the individual homes

Do you all have fast fibre for instance and did any fast fibre users experience problems

Thought the stream was very good at the weekend. Very impressed with it. Well done and thank you to all involved.

I thought the substitution graphic was a bit too large - took up half the screen, even when play had restarted. As mentioned above, ‘substitution’ was also spelled incorrectly. But they’re minor points and no real complaints from me.

I see on the Raith highlights they had a GoPro in the stand behind the goals. But we aren’t allowed access?

There are different coloured zones at EEP on a match-day now, due to Covid guidelines, and only certain people can enter certain areas of the stadium. One area is the Red Zone, which amongst other parts, includes the pitch and the perimeter of the pitch. ParsTV nor any other media personnel are allowed access to this zone at any time, therefore, we are unable to enter the track to place the GoPro in it's regular position behind the goals. We take on board the feedback that cameras can maybe be placed in other areas of the ground which can enhance the viewer experience.

We thank everyone for their feedback and support following Saturday's stream - we hope to see you all online again for our next home match against Queen of the South! 😁👍

Just wanted to say home impressed I was at the whole production at the weekend, very slick! Didn’t have any drop outs at all and thought the commentary was good too.

"Was the 1630 views just PPV or including season ticket holders? Seems quite high to be PPV only but a bit low if including ST holders. It would be interesting to see a breakdown of both - just to appease my nosiness!"

did this and the other similar questions get an answer perhaps even on another thread?

Yes included both ST and PPV

Hoping the numbers go up over the next few games.
Just hoping the gremlins keep away 😁

Was a very enjoyable experience. I was sceptical before hand but it is good viewing experience, while it will never replace actually being at the game it is a good substitute.

I.m now looking forward to Saturday.s game and would encourage everyone to sign up to view.

I think someone mentioned it earlier but is there some way we can donate additional money that would have usually been spent on programmes food and drink etc

I would have no problem sticking £10 in the pot for each home game as it's money I would have spent anyway.... and I can't get to a pub to spend any cash 🙄

Not trying to make work for you guys ,but maybe something to think about putting up a link for donations if say 2-3 folk are watching the stream obviously from the same household ,even if it's a £10 as it's a donation no need to pay tax on it ?
Taken from my earlier post
