 CL Tonight

Less than 2 months after the 2020 CL Final, this season's group stages kick off again tonight. Arguably, Man U's rematch v beaten finalists PSG, is the pick of tonight's games. They will do extremely well to emulate the result from their last CL match in Paris when they defied all predictions to win 3-1 after losing 0-2 at home, courtesy of a bizarre, last gasp penalty award.

Even without the penalty for a blatant handball Utd would have won the match which I.d be delighted with tonight. Can.t see it though against the champions league finalists.

I can see your tongue, almost bursting out of your cheek there, TOWK. 😃

I think United could get a result tonight. It very much depends on which United turn up, of course. You'll have noticed there are two very different teams, even though it's mostly the same players in both line ups.

I am certain that Man U will get a result tonight, but will it be a positive one?
Sorry pet hate of mine that misapplied phrase 🤯

I heard PSG are having a bit of an injury / isolation crisis and will be lucky to fill their bench tonight -

BT sport 2, I see. Hope they play Mctominey. I always like it better when there is at least one Scot present and Pogba has been very poor.

Chelsea v Sevilla or Lazio v Dortmund will probably be a better watch?

Kiev to give Juventus a bloody nose?

The strip should carry a health warning, like in the news, when we're warned that a report contains flash photography. 🙂

Man Utd proving their doubters wrong yet again by going to the City of Light and producing a terrific performance and result.

Juve-Barca is the stand out tie tonight, even though the Catalans don't have their troubles to seek, with President Josip Bartomeu and his board of directors jumping before being pushed, yesterday. There must be a good chance that the new president, whoever he is, will approach club legend, Xavi, about coming back to the Camp Nou as head coach, which may mean a rather short stint for Ronald Koeman. Xavi was approached before Koeman's appointment but intimated that he wasn't keen to return as long as Bartomeu was president. He would be a hugely popular choice among the Barca socios.

Tonight's much hyped Messi v Ronaldo rematch will not take place now. CR7 was given every opportunity to make it by UEFA, but tested positive for Covid-19 again last night. Normally, players are expected to test negative a full week before a game, if they have been positive beforehand.

A nonsense that UEFA were willing to bend rules just because of who it was..

I.m pretty sure that the UEFA protocol says that anyone can play as long as they test negative 24 hours before the scheduled kick off.

Anyway, Barca will be without a few players (Pique will be a huge miss) and Messi has been pretty much out of form, while I have no idea who will play at the back for the Old Lady since IIRC de Ligt, Bonucci and Chiellini are all out or doubtful. Pirlo hasn.t exactly enjoyed a great start either.

I have a cousin who is a rabid Juve fan, poor soul and follows every tiny detail of theirs and he assured me that the normal protocol for a player recovering from Covid is 7 days, KP. He told me UEFA relaxed the rule because so many fans around the globe were keen to see Ronaldo and Messi in opposition.

what is going on with half the strips in the CL?

the man utd one last week was horrific... the inter milan gridlines on their white strip the other night was awful and the juve one this evening has taken what should be a pretty straightforward design and ruined it

Noticed Messi back to smiling after the goal, he has not been doing that much of late!
