Will look into other game for you.

I looked at Pars database and we also played them on 19/7/88 according to that and lost 6-0. I have most Pars programmes but not that one if there was one and couldn.t find one on Ebay either.

Reading through the history books about the Falkirk game so far I.ve discovered that our goal came when substitute Scott.s shot was handballed so there.s one of the subs. Salton was subbed off early for us so possibly his replacement(how many subs were allowed back then?)Perry scored for Falkirk and Rolland scored our penalty. We were promoted and sadly our groundsman collapsed and died of a heart attack amongst all the excitement. I wasn.t even born for this one so interesting reading up on it. If you get no further will dig out programmes in due course. Just read Kenny Thomson played every single game that season so there.s another of your starters.

I was at the match in Bordeaux and at the Falkirk game but in a house move I lost all my Pars Programmes and team lists. The Dunfermline Press gave a small report of both matches but did not list the teams.

I was in Bordeaux. The game was moved from their stadium and played outside the town. Don.t remember any programmes.

Is that the game that won us promotion? 1-1 with an Andy Rolland penalty?

It was. Andy Rolland with the penalty to the keepers left at the Cowden end

I remember being very excited at this game as it was my first season as a fan.
There was 6000 there but to my young eyes, it could have been 60000 having watched most home games to crowds of around 1500.
To see East End 'packed' was an experience and to witness what this derby game meant to fans and players.

Remember that game well.Spoke to Andy Rolland, about a year ago, about said game.He had a bit of banter with the keeper, before taking the penalty .He made it quite clear ,there was no way he was missing it.The rest is history. I have never been so nervous, as I was at that game.

John Salton was injured early on and Bobby Robertson deputised ay centre half - had a great performance, as did Paul Donnelly, he covered every blade of grass that night.

I worked beside Paul Donnelly for around 6 months in my first job. Always took an interest in my football.
One of my favourite players growing up. Never gave less than 100% and loved a tackle

Yes, Paul Donnelly always gave 100., as did Sandy McNaughton, two of favourite players from that roughly the same period.

I was in a coach that night coming back from a school trip. I was a teacher, and one who was known to support Dunfermline. It was amazing to see how many of them became 6 fingered mutants that night. Still I got the last laugh.
