If cases start dropping soon as is predicted in the models set with restrictions then there should be no reason why it cannot be completed. If there was real doubt then professional football would have been stopped already.

I think so. Though slightly concerned that this lockdown feels nothing like the March one. For example, my neighbours had two separate visits from relatives yesterday. Both visits overlapped meaning three households in the house at the same time so this wasn't for childcare. Still seeing people leaning over others to get things in the supermarket, still seeing kids from multiple households hanging about the streets, still seeing parents at the park chatting away with masks down (if wearing at all) and not social distancing.
I don't think it's sunk in that the new strain is far more easily spread, which is why it's probably only a matter of time before more footballers are affected.

legitimate question.
one would hope so, I don`t think we saw coming this virus varient so we can`t predict.
would think teams understand now that if the season finishes thats where it ends.

If it ends and I think it will continue for elite sports with maybe with more restrictions, however precedents have been set last year, so better to be prepared and be at top of the league or off bottom when the time comes.
Sean Dyce comments were very interesting yesterday on this.

A good question and one for serious consideration .... London mayor declaring a state of emergency ....More players testing positive in England and cup ties going ahead with 2nd and 3rd team choices I believe as an obligation .... My opinion is that it will stop or at least have a break in England where the virus is rampant...I think circuit breaker is the popular term....Now then Mrs what about Scotland ? ... we will get hit very soon with the second strain I know its here already but we are a couple of weeks behind England and Wales from the rampant peak .....So its coming make no mistake and again my opinion is we will have a break until infections and deaths start to decline again .....will the vaccine save us ......who knows I hope so
I have described nothing but what I saw myself, or learned from others of whom I made the most careful and particular enquiry.

Celtic flying out to Dubai, Nicola asking the SFA to look in to it and the SFA saying they would not leads to one thing. If any violation of the lockdown restrictions occur by any club and player then the Scottish Government will step in.

I think it will, although todays COVID figures are alarming and going to get worse over the coming week.
Clubs and players need to play their part and realise the seriousness of the situation and their part in lifting the moral and helping with mental welling being of fans.
I know I look forward to watching the football in these grim times and would hate if it was to stop.

Itâs amazing how much a difference watching any ânewâ sport makes. I think it was golf that made the first professional return after lockdown in June and it was terrible with social distancing and a field of 4 players (I think) but at least you didnât know the outcome so I watched it all.
Already you forget how uninteresting 3 months of EPL classics and the like was. Live games without a crowd is a shadow of what it was but sports all about unknown outcomes (especially when you can buy interest for even the dullest match at an online bookie) so I hope elite sport is protected as long as possible as at least itâs a distraction.

Very much fear that this season is âdoomed, Mr Mainwaring!â And before the smart Alecs start posting that Iâm a âgloomsterâ (whatever that is) they should maybe look at the available evidence, the growing shambles of affected teams and game cancellations and the statement of the Chief Medical Officer that the next few weeks will be the toughest yet. Would be delighted to be proved wrong however.

I don't recon it will and don't belive it can be null and voided. The difference in premiership is only 7 games from when season ended last season, would be unfair. As much as I dislike the ugly sisters Rangers do deserve title if it ends early.

I`m not sure, but if it is finished early, it would be funny to see Celtic campaigning for Rangers to be awarded the league title so that their 9 in a row is still legitimate and for Rangers to be campaigning for the season to be voided not to be awarded the title in order that they can get last season voided so Celtic go back to 8 in a row and they can try and stop them getting 9.

And for Anne Budge to declare the season should be voided like she did last year meaning they don't get promoted.

The SFA refusing to look into Celtics trip after the government asked them to is a real own goal. The government will justifiably be annoyed with that.
Along with that, Celtic were claiming hardship along with the other teams to get hold of a handout from the government but could still afford the 5* trip to Dubai. Theyâve now broken guidelines at least twice - One more from them and I can see the government coming to the conclusion that itâs unnecessary trouble for them to deal with at this time and just call it quits.

I don`t think the SPFL will repeat the ``mistakes`` they made last season. The situation is different now. Nobody knew where we were going with the virus last March - now we have vaccination as our Great White Hope. Even if football is suspended for several weeks, or even a few months, the season can still be completed by playing two games a week in April, May and June. Many countries were playing in July last year, after all. By that time, almost everyone who wants the vaccine will have been offered it.
The only way the season wouldn`t be completed would be if the available vaccines do not offer the levels of immunity claimed by the manufacturers - let`s not go there.....

Can you see the Euros going ahead if Europe doesn't have the pandemic under control? I'd imagine the various Governments would tell UEFA it's not happening, especially as they're due to take place across the entire continent.

I see Euros being prioritised over our leagues. I certainly donât see the Euros being cancelled so the SPFL (or other leagues) can finish its fixtures.
Playing the Euros with no fans is no different to the Champions League which continues (for now) under local rules. I wouldnât be surprised to see Euros moved to single or fewer locations though.
That all said everything depends on all the other much discussed Covid factors and how the next few months play out.

European rugby's Heineken Champions Cup and Challenge Cup have been temporarily suspended, organisers have confirmed.
It comes after the French government decreed its clubs should not play in the competitions this month.
As a result, European Professional Club Rugby (EPCR) says it had "no choice" but to postpone all matches scheduled for the weekends of 16 and 23 January.

It is outdoors, easy to social distance (especially with my driving) and at the moment, it is reduced to only two players at the tee.

Ive heard Celtic fans are having Covid parties, much in the same way folk used to have measles parties for kids. The idea being that they get someone infected by coronavirus to infect the rest of them and then they get out in to the community and spread it about. All in an attempt to stop the season and prevent Sevco winning their first league title

I read somewhere there is a rule of 75% of fixtures are needed to avoid null and void. Want to be able to keep going if possible without putting player's and Thier families at risk. Need to hit the 20 games I think.
Leagues need restructuring though and you would think end of this season would be an ideal opportunity.
