Another historic day today. Tranent v East Fife in the Cup. Really, really pinching myself, to see the Big T where they are. 15/1 as well. Most definitely worth a couple of shekels.

Mon Tranent, intae yon Methil manks

Sorry to be pedantic but, despite what the opening post says, it`s actually East Fife who are at home isn`t it? That could have a big impact on the outcome.

Yer right dude, my excitement for the game made me put them the wrong way round. Yeah, if it had been in Tranent, it would have been a major advantage, but a lot of the teams they play, play on astro, so they'll be used to it
Plus, they train on a fantastic astro pitch.

A certain Paralex remembers playing centre forward for Neilston Juniors against Tranent, on their pitch, in the fourth round of the Scottish Junior cup in 1979. He remembers a pipe band piping the players out, a crowd of about 1,000 and running about trying to get a head or foot on the ball. With time running out and Tranent winning 2-1 he managed to reach a through ball, squared it to his team mate who smashed it against John Martin`s (later to become a favourite with Pars fans) right hand post. Tranent won 2-1 and Neilston`s cup run ended. But a memorable day out.

Really mate??? Wow. I was there. Games like that brought out the whole town. Some amazing crowds. Remember games against Baillieston, Pollock, Neilston being absolutely incredible. Oh and pass my thanks onto your mate for the miss 😊😊

One of the most intense games I ever played in. The ball was whizzing about all over the pitch and the Tranent centre half was like a brick wall. I lost touch with the guys in the team after I moved on. Of course the Tranent goalie went on to play for Airdrie and played in the Scottish cup final.

John Martin was an absolute legend at Tranent. Even more so, was that he was from Prestonpans.

This is maybe a daft question, but why is everyone so pleased for Tranent? Have we lots of East Lothian Pars?

I'm not, but pars not playing and a dot netter supports Tranent , so gives us a team to get behind in the cup.

1-1 now

2-1 now for the Fife.

Tranent not out of it yet, but I think East Fife will score another couple in the second half.

πŸ‘πŸ‘ Unlucky to be down. They got a very soft penalty. Still, we're playing well and causing them problems. Not over

Mon Tranent

True Big T, East Fife got a good record at home this season and if they win Thier 2 games in hand they would be sitting joint 2nd in 1st div.
Had the game been in Tranent I recon it could have been alot tighter.
Unlucky and hope to see more from the juniors in future.

Top class responses guys. At 1 nil, we were in control. The commentators were moaning how poor they were playing. We had a free kick, that smacked against the post, so close to being 2 up.

The future looks very bright for Tranent.
