Part of Peter Lawwells apology for his club spending £250,000 on a jolly to Dubai.
This horrific pandemic has affected the whole of society. It's affected people here in Scotland, it's affected our supporters, it's affected our football and it's affected our club - probably our club more than any."
Post on this thread teams that may have been disadvantaged slightly more than the mighty Celtic.

We’ll start with any club in Scotland who were unable to afford a £250k trip to Dubai.

I think there may be a lady from over the bridge would think her club has been affected slight more than Celtic.
Relegated with out a full season played, then only playing 3/4 of a season because Aberdeen and Celtic had players break the rules once before.

Our six finger friends from Grangemouth would consider Covid has affected them ,getting left in the first division ,with a chance of going up as champions, then now getting told to shut down with a fair chance of not completing the season ,and maybe if the season is null and void spending another season in league 1.

Lawwell has done an excellent job in making Celtic relatively rich. That`s really where it ends.
Apology sent out today, but way too late and smacks of insincerity. Has he been taking lessons off Trump?
Most Celtic fans want him out of the club.

Watching this apology would made anyone cry, with laughter, if it wasn’t so serious for other clubs.
Are Celtic going out of business?

250k even the rangers couldn’t afford it. Most Affected the club, more than any other in Scotland is total nonsense and most Celtic fans have saw right through this Donald trump of an interview with in house tv perfectly scripted. He won’t see next season.
If any club should be prepared it should have been Celtic with all its resources and cash open to them. 60k tickets sold. Ppv, they have treated their fans appallingly and season ticket renewal will spell end for him.

I think that statement is crass at best, but he could be talking about revenue from lots of fans attending (gate receipts, catering, hospitality, club shop on match days, etc). From a spreadsheet perspective that statement could be true, but completely irrelevant and certainly not an excuse for their trip

I don't see how either Lawwell and Lennon can survive beyond the end of this season.
Recruitment was terrible, performances on the park have been poor (pathetic in Europe) and the season has been a disaster from the fans point of view. Sooner or later, Rangers were going to challenge for the title, but they're on course to win it by an even bigger margin than in any season Celtic have done since 2012.
Not your average Sunday League player.

When even Celtic fans are embarrassed by the statement you know you are in trouble
I wouldn’t be surprised if he added that line to play the old Martin O’Neill trick of everyone is against us siege mentality to get the fans onside but they have seen right through it

The furloughing is a non-issue. There are plenty of businesses that could afford to pay people to do nothing. It's not fair to finger wag at Celtic.
However, it's pretty poorly timed that you've got other clubs offering up stadiums to help with vaccinations whilst Celtic, fresh back from a jolly abroad, announce its everyone else's fault.

Celtic did offer park head, after we did. Of course celtic are hit harder than any other club....they only believe them and Rangers make up the league
