 Man U v Liverpool

On the Beeb. 5 pm ko.

Cannae be as bad as last week's game, can it? No point in either team settling for a draw, so here's hoping we see a decent game - unlikely to be great in a cavernously empty OT. Both managers are sending out decent teams, so no excuses.

Cheers for that G.G.

When you see Liverpools recent run of form I think Man U will regret not going for it last week in the league

Tonight will be a different game hopefully I`ll go for Liverpool 2-0

What a difference in Luke Shaw, looking like the player that they signed again

East End Park is a symbol of all that is DAFC.

Good cup tie, open attacking football. Shaw is best player on the park for me so far. Utd win for me. What a ***** away strip by the way!

Liverpool are struggling to contain Shaw and Rashford when they break forward on the left.
But Liverpool`s passing is better in midfield. Trent and Salah look out of form although Salah`s timed run and finish was top drawer.

Can someone please explain to me why teams persist with trying to play a bye-kick out from their six yard box?

All that seems to happen is players are closed down, enevtabley play a dodgy pass out into on-running forwards or panic & lash the ball forward.

I don’t get it - why not let the goalkeeper kick it?

“.........your on mute Jordan” 😀

Shaw not at fault for Liverpool`s first goal, allowing Salah to run past him unchallenged?

I like Shaw Raymie .. he suffered a bad injury when he was probably the best left back in England It was no coincidence that Man U`s form dipped after that

Then he had to recover from Jose`s public humiliation about his ability and thought process

He has done well since ... great self believe, determination, and regained his love for the game .. he will be back in the England squad soon ... Well done to the Laddie

I agree that he has come onto a game and has been one of their better players this season however watch the first goal. It really is lazy and poor

The arrival of Telles has lit a fire under Shaw and he has responded.

Klopp has to take a fair bit of blame for that defeat. It was clear that Utd were enjoying a lot of success in behind the full backs, meaning young Philips was being exposed in the wide areas against Rashford.

He could have switched Fabinho over but maybe though Cavani would dominate the youngster?
They had the older Philips on the bench. I`m sure he could have stood up to the physical challenge that Cavani brings?

It`s in game changes that really separates the mangers in my opinion.

Solskjaer got it absolutely right Raymie. He didn’t test Liverpool’s defence at Anfield and only got a draw when 3 points were for the taking. He put that right yesterday. Klopp has to adjust, I don’t think he can be so adventurous with his full backs with no VVD to cover them. It was a good game thoroughly enjoyed it and the result of course.
