 Hearts PPV
Topic Originator: wee eck

As predicted Hearts are charging £18.50 for Saturday`s match. It`s not clear from their website what the walk-up prices would have been as the prices quoted are for 2018/19 and are therefore for Premiership games but the cheapest were £21 for adults and £16 for OAPs and students.

I think £18.50 will be too much for most Pars` fans.

I think £18.50 will be too much for a lot of pay at the gate Hearts fans as well.

Dunfermline Athletic Disabled Supporters' Club (DADSC) was surprised and delighted yesterday to receive £18.50 (plus Gift Aid) from one Pars fan who wasn't prepared to give his money to Hearts.

Anyone who wants to do the same (or to donate any other amount large or small) can do so at this link.

Just out of curiousity - what would Pars TV expect Jam Tarts fans to pay to watch their visit to EEP if not on freeview terrestial ?

Someone else has just contributed to DADSC rather than to Hearts PPV!

This is becoming a nice little earner, thank you Hearts! :)

That’s a ridiculous amount to expect people to pay; market forces, I suppose, but I don’t see how they can justify it. I haven’t missed a PPV this season but won’t be tuning in on Saturday.

All totally unexpected, so huge thanks to all four of you (and to Hearts Marketing Department).

This amount is deplorable .That is undeniable. Many fans are struggling with income slashed.

Hearts benefit from the fact that, currently, live streaming in Scotland is unregulated. It is the Wild West out there.Piracy is discussed on another thread.

Hampden seems to have little interest.

Whether their "hands off" policy will continue next season, when attendances could return to clubs, is debatable.Fans are used to watching their club at an away match. There can be no going back. The genie is out of the bottle.

While I will happily go to a match at Raith Rovers or Alloa, I will not travel to eg Inverness or Ayr so I am delighted to pay PPV.

Stanza, that’s a great response from Pars fans who are ticked off at Hearts prices but can I venture to suggest you start a new thread with a more appropriate header, rather than using the PPV thread

A specific header should draw more like minds to read it & donate

Cheers

Drum Road, I appreciate what you're saying, and had we set out to persuade folk to support DADSC rather than watch Hearts TV then that is exactly what we would have done.

We were reluctant to do that, because Pars fans have been asked for money so often in recent years, and we didn't want to encourage them NOT to watch their club play. So when the first donations started coming in we were amazed.

This response from Pars fans has been unprompted, spontaneous and completely unexpected - we're very grateful. Let's hope the team does as well on the pitch in half an hour's time!

PS - There's still time for folk to contribute! :)

Have to say, well worth the £18.50 ticket price so far, streaming first class, excellent commentary, best I’ve heard this season & the extra stuff before the game & at half time was interesting & entertaining whether your a jambo or a Par, even had Pars highlights from last week....... (how did they manage to find any!)

Helps that the Pars are deffo the better team with a good handful of chances.... any other goalie & we would be ahead right now.....Craig ’bl00dy Gordon

Looking forward to the second half

Dave has stepped up to be the Twelfth Man and complete a great performance from Pars fans who donated to DADSC instead of paying the Hearts TV prices.

Well done everyone, once the Gift Aid is collected on your donations it will all amount to an amazing windfall of £267 towards our 1st Floor Access Fund, so eventually all your money will find its way back to benefit DAFC and its fans.

Just a pity the lads couldn`t hold out at Tynecastle as well to make it an even better day.

totally agree on the comments, if they had the price lowered a touch to say 15 quid then it would been superb value for the product.

was like watching a game there being covered by sky with all the angles, replays, the comms guys very very good with excellent knowledge of the opposition and formation, previous history and actually getting our players names correct when on the ball which isn't something we get every week!

Hearts and Raith actual stream production streets ahead of the rest its safe to say.

Perhaps Hearts PPV should takeover from BBC Scotland. The Hearts lads were far more competent than Yogi and Booboo on BBC.
