I would say today is Make or Break day for our season. We all know we desperately need a striker, but it’s who (or if) we bring in that’s going to have a massive bearing on how we do.
Personally I reckon we need a proven striker who is maybe in the twilight of his career but knows where the net is and won’t rush it when the ball comes to him.
Unfortunately I have a feeling SC will go for one of his “up and coming, hungry” young guys looking for a chance, and that doesn’t fill me with confidence for the season going forward.
Yes we have a great defence and midfield but without someone who can take the chances we will slide down the league again.

Hearts after an attacking mid fielder wont be surprised for Turner to be heading there

I must be missing the raft of chances our current strikers are missing.

I love it when we go sell Kevin Nisbet,
He's gonna pay for everyone this season.

exactly.
The OP is just slightly over reacting!! Joint 2nd even after a number of draws when they were at 2 of the top 4 teams away from home, unfortunate to get beat at Hearts at weekend, a draw down at Greenock where pitch was horrendous and we generally have a poor record .
Some dropped points at home last 2 games yes but we are hardly struggling!!

I don`t agree, another striker would be nice but we can get by without one. McManus` form in front of goal will pick up again, O`Hara and McCann both have more to offer. Fraser Murray is fit again and looked sharp against Hearts, Banks I am sure will add something and Thomas and Dow`s form will pick up. Turner, Wilson and McInroy are capable of scoring from midfield, and I sure we can also start to get some joy from set pieces again.
If something comes up within our budget then great, but if not I`ve got faith in this squad.

^^ agreed.
"Personally I reckon we need a proven striker who is maybe in the twilight of his career but knows where the net is and won’t rush it when the ball comes to him"
yeah good luck with that one.
it isnt make or break day either, we can do loans from Scottish clubs until the end of February and sign free agents until the end of March if needed.
"Hearts after an attacking mid fielder wont be surprised for Turner to be heading there"
just signed a winger on loan, various players being linked in the media including a six figure fee for a midfielder but no link for Turner.

Really missed a trick not going for Livingston’s Jack Hamilton. Fancy him to get a few goals in The Championship.

Hearts signing Aaron McEneff. Suspect he may be their midfield signing.

Could take Bruce Anderson back was he not recalled from ayr? Knows where the goal is if given the chances and certainly different from our strikers right now

The same table shows there`s only 4 points between 8 of the 10 teams in the table, in other words it`s an incredibly even league, as we all know.
https://thefishy.co.uk/formtable.php?table=11
Hearts 22
Dundee 16
Inverness 14
Raith 14
Arbroath 13
Ayr 12
Dunfermline 11
QoS 11
Alloa 11
Morton 10
The prizes are awarded over 27 games.

Hopefully Banks and Wighton give us a bit of a spark. We have been stale for a couple of months now bar the Raith home game.
