That’s enough to make him resign.

Good on him. Although quite common in some countries like Italy, where the squad is put together by a Director of Football and the "manager" is essentially the head coach and has to get on with it, it's disrespectful not to consult with the coach before bringing a player in. Even more so, if the coach has said he doesn't want a particular player. Maybe they're just trying to force his hand?

I've heard from a reliable source that Lennon didn't want Duffy, Ajeti or Klimlala, last summer, but he got them anyway. He kept quiet because he was on silly money to deliver 10 in a row and because he fancied going down in Sellick history.

I wonder G.G. how many managers in the modern football club structure actually have an input or say into who they get during transfer deadlines ?

I read a wee bit where Jurgen Klopp said he has no authority to sign players ... that rests with the Anfield hierarchy

Marseille have suspended manager Andre Villas-Boas after he offered his resignation because he disagreed with the club`s "sporting policy".

Surely they have to be consulted, at the very least? And if they categorically state they don't want a certain player and he's brought in anyway, that's constructive dismissal?
