After a poor Pars result, I often find that a decent EPL game can help to dispel the gloom. The Man U v Everton game last night helped a bit and I'm hoping this afternoon's game will act as a booster vaccine.
Logic suggests an away win. City are playing well and confidence is high after a long winning sequence. Liverpool have been struggling big time, losing at home to Brighton and Burnley, who are both just above the relegation places. There's rarely much room for logic in football, as we all know, so I think Liverpool will turn up today and we'll be treated to a really good game. All runs have to end some time, so I'm going for 2-1 Liverpool.
I'll bet the two most relieved posters on Dotnet right now are mcfc and lpf. A word of warning, gents - last year when all conquering Liverpool travelled to the Etihad, I tipped City to win 2-1....... 😃

3-0 to City with one of them being a penalty and a Liverpool play being sent off.

On that Man Utd Everton game Fred has settled in to a passable midfielder but I wonder how much above £52 million it would take to get someone who could hit the target with an easy chance from the edge of the box or make a decent effort of crossing a ball? His embarrassed look on both occasions when he failed ineptly to do so suggested that he will never be more than a£52 million white elephant.
But yes, the English Premiership is always a welcome diversion when we have a bad result and if Man City win tonight they`ll never be caught because the rest aren`t consistent enough.

I'll take that prediction GG. I don't think many City fans are confident of getting a penalty with Oliver's track record.

City can be a strange team. It shows just what a great coach Pep is because if I was to name a current best 11 from European club football I don`t think I`d have any City players in excpet De Bruyne obviously. Maybe a defender or two would make the squad but other than that I`m not sure anyone else would even make a 22 man squad. There they are top of the league and the best team in England.

Liverpool only have themselves to blame they get back into the game with a soft penalty then the keeper gives City 2 goals , you would think you would learn after the first mistake ! some goal from Foden there
Can you imagine the meltdown on the Pars site if that was OFW
giving the ball away like that LOL

I think he'd over ran it which is why it couldn't be a clear goal scoring opportunity and was also the reason he went down but in sure it will be mentioned as you've said.
England have got some amount of quality attacking midfielders coming through and Foden might just be the best of them.

I actually had a strong fancy for City, btts and over 2.5 goals but I've had my cash tied up in another bet. Should have fired some extra cash in the account.

Only saw the second half. Just poor defensively but you can't take it away from city. When their tails are up they can be devastating.
Alexander Arnold posted missing when people run at him. Happens time and again.
Like Raymie I can't help but be impressed by Bernardo Silva but Foden has that ruthless streak about him too.

Klopp still moaning about a certain other side getting too many penalties? Not for the first time Salah was a disgrace - wonder if they’ve found the sniper in the crowd yet.
Love that Pep is still talking about all the areas that Foden needs to improve on - he’s gonna be a hell of a player. Maybe he should take the City penalties?

Doesn't say a lot for the development or Klopps confidence in the younger centre backs in reserve/u23/development squads though does it?
Can understand maybe dropping the odd senior midfield player back for cover as a one off here and there (think it waw Fabinho initially) but that's everyone had a shot now.

thats what I was thinking when seen the team line ups, signs 2 centre halfs last week and q gets on bench and 2 centre mids play at the back. These u23 squads are basically separate entities, none of these clubs bring these players into 1st team squad when have any players injured or struggling.

The u23 squads really are used as youth development teams by the big epl clubs. Utd 23s beat their Liverpool counterparts 6-3 last week and the scorers of all the Utd goals were Diallo and Hugill who are 18 and 17 years old.
