Indicating lows of minus 8 on Wednesday night and minus 5 overnight on Thursday and Friday with daytime temperatures not getting above 1 degree. Doesnt look promising for Saturday.

Despends whether USH is turned on and also volume snowfall on the pitch

There is about as much chance of them paying for the USH as there is of you making a sensible post ;)

-7c and a foot of snow, surely if the under soil heating was turned on the pitch would be waterlogged?

the snow will be acting as insulation while its still on the park but going from the managers comments on Tuesday, think its safe to say the game will be off and more snow forecast for Saturday.

Got a glimpse of the pitch when I was in the Norrie for my jag and it was under an awful lot of snow.

It would be crazy if they are wasting money on the undersoil heating. It's not as if they are going to get any money through the gates. Better playing it when the weather has eased up

The other side of the coin would be to spend money on the heating in order to prevent a fixture backlog that might adversely affect a play off push. In past years 2nd was worth 75k more than 3rd, the same for 3rd to 4th and 4th to 5th. It then tended to go to about 25k. I`ve not seen figures for this covid affected season.
Obviously this week is extreme and might be too much to even contemplate trying to get the fixture on if they wished.

I agree with your post Westie, it might be more prudent to try the gamble of preventing a huge backlog of games. the way this cold snap is going we may also have postponed games to come from other grounds and having to play numerous games over a short period of time could lead to injuries.Westies squint kicks wrote:
