There is only one suitable punishment for this. A 45 point deduction.

Give a retrospective 45 point deduction to Celtic, then everyone is happy.

So could football be suspended over this breach?

Celtic no 10 in a row!
Rangers no champions!
Hearts no promoted!

I'll get the popcorn. 🤔

I can't believe the stupidity of some players. They must have known, they would be found out.

Unless the names of the players get leaked to the press this will be swept under the carpet under the “internal investigation” moniker and nothing more will happen for fear their first ever league win gets jeopardised.

"Why are footballers treated differently ?"

A question to put to people who are currently being treated differently to footballers, in as much as they are NOT being permitted to work in the current lockdown.

Football was given a special consideration and dispenation to carry on - so those who abuse the privilege have no defense for their irresponsible nonsense.

Exactly. They have special dispensation to carry on with their jobs but they have to adhere to certain conditions to allow for this privilege as it’s an exception. To abuse this says a lot about their self awareness and concern for the fans and general public.

The government reply was quite clear except one thing. They mentioned about highly paid professionals. That may have come as a surprise to the likes of Hamilton players and other teams as the majority of Scottish football players are not massively paid.
The names will come out. It would be a disaster for The Rangers if one of these players subsequently proved positive for COVID. Also when the bans do come they are going to be very hefty.
The SG will make sure of this as I presume the Scottish League have had yet another talk on player control, privileges and the like.
Doncaster must be petrified having to go and tell another one of his pals off.

A reliable source has tonight revealed to me the names of the two Rangers players guilty of the said offence. But I do understand it would be salacious of me to pass on such information on this very distinguished forum. Suffice it to say that one of the offenders was English by nationality and the other Scottish. Neither of them are first team regulars and it couldn`t have been much of a party because I live half a mile away and I didn`t hear a thing.

On further investigation I realise there is no reason to be so restrained since it is now open knowledge. The two players are Calvin Bassey and Nathan Patterson. Not really household names.
Bassey, born in Italy of Nigerian descent but now plying his trade under the flag of St. George is no relation to the veteran Diva of the same surname Shirley and Nathan who tried to justify his indiscretion to manager Gerrard was told in a scouse accent we`ll hae none o yer Patter son.

I thought Therangers 5 were going to be disciplined by the club. Patterson and Zungu played last night.

Was that their punishment?

How Gerrard could play those 2 players yesterday after all his team has said about other teams breaking Covid rules is a disgrace and complete hipocracy!

Internal process I would have expected with the maximum fine allowed. No point cutting your nose off at your own expense is their.
There will be spfl or sfa investigation which will suspend players for league matches.

want to play a game of "who said it?"...

T"he SPFL have said they`re open to an internal investigation and I don`t really agree with that because you shouldn`t be allowed to mark your own homework. If you mark your own homework, you`re always going to finish top of the class and there`s not going to be any questions asked.

"For me, there needs to be an expert, an investigator, or a forensic investigator, who should come in and look at everything across the board with the SPFL. And if everything`s clean and everything`s fair and everything`s transparent then all the accusations, all the bad media, all the pundits can`t slam the organisation and everyone can move forward in the right direction."

On the other hand it was good to see a young Scot scoring such a crucial goal in Europe.
