Just read some reminiscences by John Connolly who oldies may recall playing for St Johnstone 1968/72. And a terrific player he was.
Moved south and played for several clubs including Everton, and amongst his opponents were some of the games fiercest tacklers - Tommy Smith, Norman Hunter and Ron "Chopper" Harris.
"One time after I knocked the ball past Ron and crossed for Joe Royle to score he stopped me when I was jogging back. "Son I think it would be a very good idea if you went over to the other side of the park"
"I`m not daft so I said to Jimmy Husband " quick give us a swap!"
