My nose got the better of me and had to nip into the loft to check . . .got this top and shorts, Denim away top and shorts, table cloth le coq sportif home top and shorts, red Auto Windscreens away top and shorts. Also got the red Hummel away top and the red umbro away top from the 80s with the black and white shoulder stripes.

Now, I'll need to get an ebay account 😂

They will find their own price Mikey on E Bay.

red umbro away top from the 80s with the black and white shoulder stripes - this is even more desirable than the red and blue quarter top, if it is size M or L.

You have a goldmine there if decent sizes potentially £500 +, Adult M or L are premium

Hi, if you are interested in doing a private sale for the red Umbro top with white/black shoulder stripes, please drop me an email at Mark.falconer4@btinternet.com.

I’ve been after this top for a while and happy to make a serious offer.

Cheers

Had to look twice there, was assuming it was a player issue or something significant to justify that price but it's just a regular strip.

Cynical side of me instantly thinking it's being a shill bidder but shall see.

Would not be surprised if it mysteriously pops up again relisted a few days after the auction finishes due to "previous winner failing to pay" but we shall see.

Used to be well up to speed on this kind of thing when i was younger - a bit of of touch admittedly - and i know lockdown has skewed the market on all kinds of retro/collectibles but i just cannot see how it's hitting those numbers unless you hit the jackpot and have found 2 or 3 three folk need it to complete a collection and are fighting it out, but still, it's not that rare is it?

If you aren’t planning on keeping all these I’d be interested in a couple if you know how much you happy getting for them! As much as I’d like the red and blue one I can’t compete with the price on eBay and the 80s red one is my favourite away shirt ever but again it would be out my price range.

Would be interested in most of the rest of them depending on prices.

Are you planning on putting them on eBay or happy to do private sale?

My way of thinking is if they are not on display or worn, then they are better off with someone who will benefit from them on display or part of a collection.
The red umbro is rare and a gem that's the Aluglaze away one and part of a significant time of our history.
Few folk sitting on a small fortune in strips. However not always about the money.....It's the memories. Would love the club to do a memory tunnel of strip history.

I hope for that money the seller will disclose and provide proof beforehand of the provenance of that shirt, to date it back to the 1995/96 season. It would be a lot of money to pay and then find out is a replica shirt produced years later.

I've managed to add a few tops to my collection recently and am desperate for the hummel 92/94 home top. Had one as a kid but gave it away to a school in Nepal by mistake, thought I'd left it to the side. Theres one on Ebay but it's out of my price range and too big. If anyone has one they are willing to sell at a reasonable price, you would make me a very, very happy man.

Anything from small medium or large would be perfect. I'd wear any of them, XL is too big however.

Got to spread the love of the DA far and wide. No idea what other tops i even had but will never forget coming home to find my holy grail was no longer there! The financial value doesn't bother me tbh, it would not be getting sold under any circumstances had I kept it anyway. If I get one itll be worn and then framed and hung on my wall. Not something I ever thought about was what the value would be in 20 years, crazy figures for some tops making it impossible for me to add the rarer ones to my collection at the moment.

I hear you. I wanted a Coventry 1988 hummel strip (the Denmark 86 style) as I had one as a kid and think it`s perhaps the best kit of all time (the Denmark 86 away one may edge it).

Anyway, I got one and I`m now scared to put it on given the outlay.

Think we`ll do a bit about football kits on the next B&W Noise.

On a side note, if anyone has any tops, and are more interested in preserving them than profiting from them, please let me know. I wish to frame and display all old pars tops that come into my possession. I would pay reasonable prices direct or even by donation to the club if preferred. Appreciate this is a long shot, I'm more interested in the historical value than the financial value. No problems with anyone who wants to achieve the highest price possible, through say ebay, I would still bid within my limits. But if anyone has any pars tops they wish to pass on at a reasonable price or donation to know they will live on for many many more years to come, then please let me know.

I’m looking for most Pars tops for a collection that I’ve slowly started and would like to add as many as I can including some of the newer ones as well as old classics or holy grails as they get called.

Some of the prices on eBay are crazy though and I’m not altogether convinced that the bidding is completely genuine on there at times!

Anyone with anything they willing to part with and at not absolute crazy money please let me know and hopefully we can do us both a favour

Im in Northern Ireland so any shirts would need posting which of course i will cover all post and packing costs

Thanks

The retro football top market has exploded in the last 5 years, not just from supporters looking to get a favourite top from their youth, but from a very large and enthusiastic shirt collecting community, who aren`t bothered by the club but the design of the shirts.

5-10 years ago I picked up our Hummel shirts, most of the Matchwinner, Umbro and Avec shirts and paying no more than 30 quid. Pretty much zero chance of adding to it now without spending 3 figures.

I have an 87 home and a Hummel home and most other replicas I would part with. Would prefer to swap with any Matchworn Dunfermline shirts if anyone has any they would sell or swap. Will pay good money for anything matchworn.
Email in profile.
Also any replica Bukta from pre 86.

Love the retro football strip market. Anyone got photo's of their collection? I for one would love to see pics. Jason showed me his when I went to drop off his Copa top. Loads of folk I spoke to at the time said they had old tops. So let's see them 😊

Polt, if I had a scooby how to put a pic up on here I would. I could email them to you and perhaps you can post them here ?

There is a purpose and green top on ebay current price is £52.50 size medium. Only thing that might put people off as it has French 9 on the back

I’m going down to the lock up next Monday to have a look but from what has been said on here there must be 3k worth of pars strips and I do have a John Watson training top he gave me when they trained up at Kingseat when I went to visit for my birthday.
I’m sure some tops are still in the bags when bought. BUT the lock up need a bit of tidying as all will be at the back.... a bit like your storage hunters lol.

Just got the 1997 top on Ebay for 43 quid which isn't bad value.

You're right though the prices have shot up, I got the 1990-92 one for 40 quid, the 99/00 home for £25 and £19, and then the away one for £16 a few years back.

It's just the "in" thing at the moment, it'll pass in a couple of years, reckon it'll die off a good bit when covid ends.

I've just checked ebay. For some reason the price has dropped to £175.

I love those bukta strips and would pay good money for one of them. I don’t remember the braisby logo though.

It would be in the 80s at the time Gregor Abel was still with the club. Gregor would have got them for the school team as they were worn. I damaged my knee quite badly in 1985, it took a while for me to get back playing. In all honesty I can't remember playing in them after that. I got a kick playing in a real Dunfemline top even if it was only playing in the staff team.

Still sad that I sold my Norries matchworn top from the 2nd championship winning season - but the money went to save the Pars, and was bought on here, not some collector on ebay

It sold for £175 plus postage!

Lot of dodgy bidding being going on lately with bids being placed and retracted.

I had bid on a couple of shirts that I then got outbid on and then overnight magically the winning bids were retracted leaving me as the highest bidder! Some people are just dishonest and can’t let the auctions run properly but I bid the max I’m prepared to pay then sit back and if it wins it wins if it doesn’t then that’s ok!

Just don’t get involved in bidding wars as you can be bumped up quite a lot by someone being dodgy!

Looks suspicious with the withdrawn bids. Load more Pars tops have appeared on E Bay in the last week, people must have suddenly realised they are worth a bit of money.

175 quid for that!? Never one of my favourites. With the retractions it looks very dodgy. I think the buyer has been fleeced there

The buyer has hardly been fleeced. They bid
and could have retracted it if they wanted.

A kit dealer from Edinburgh to thank for the influx of kits and dodgy bids.
