Not sure I want Ayr added to the mix in the fight for Top4. I watched Morton v Ayr on Saturday and second half they looked OK and that is without their new manager who may be named tomorrow. I think a draw would be better from a Pars perspective.

Erm no! 2 - 4 will be from Raith Dundee QoS and us.
They have points in the bag. We need them to drop some.

if results go their way both Ayr and Inverness could be 2nd and 3rd after next midweeks games.

draws are the best results in both games tonight.

I'm not so much concerned with where teams might be if results go well as I am with where teams actually are.

Raith to drop 3 for me.

Just need Raith to drop more points on Friday Night against ICT
But the Pars need to turn up on Saturday and beat Morton ! No If`s or But`s about it another Draw or defeat is not acceptable if we have ambitions of the play off`s

Morton jumped from 9th to 6th with that win. Caley begining to look doomed cannot seem to get a run together.
Really my only concern is our next 3 games and they are gonna be tough!
Concerned about our fitness levels and with so many important matches to squeeze in.

All you ever seem to hear on here , is good result for us or great result for us .
Despite all these great results in other games , we're barely treading water in the league .
It's about time we got the finger out and started get some great results of our own .
Hopefully starting on Saturday .

What a load of rubbish that is.

We're third, 1 point off second. Results and performances recently haven't been good but to state we're "barely treading water" is clearly nonsense. Where did you expect us to be at this stage of the season?

No nonsense there . Even with results elsewhere going our way , the league has tightened up drastically in recent weeks .
If we don't start picking up more points soon , it won't matter abt other games outcomes.

There's a helluva lot of contradictions in there chap. Surely if the league continues to "tighten up" we'll be in with a shout and all outcomes will matter?

You know fine well what I mean da no 1 .
It won't matter a jot what the results are elsewhere if we don't take advantage of "great results" ourselves .
2nd top is still up for grabs for 6 possibly 7 sides , and we need to be picking up more points than we have been .

Second bottom becoming within sight as well. More performances like Arbroath, Alloa and QoS and we will be heading that way.

It's time we went on a decent run.

We’ve got two games in hand on QOTS and Morton, both of which we are currently ahead of already. Ayr 6pts behind us and we have a game in hand.

Dundee same amount of games played and 3pts ahead and would stay ahead of them on goal difference by the looks of it.

Time to worry right enough......

Well I'm worried Berry .
We've taken 8 points from 7 games since the turn of the year .
If we don't improve on that in the next 7 games , where do you think that will place us ?

But have a look at other teams past form, it’s no better or worse than ours.

Only exception is QOTS who have hit a nice patch.

Does it excuse our recent downturn in form, no, but it happens at times during a season, let’s be clear there is little difference in quality across every team in this league which is evidenced week in week out.

People call it lucky that we are where we are because of other team results, it just shows how competitive this league is, I see it as a positive that despite our inconsistency we are still fighting for second in the league, we shouldn’t be worrying about teams like Morton and Arbroath ffs. If we are then seriously end the season now and give the playoff spot away because what hope do we have in the Premier League with that attitude if we ended up there.

The pessimists are worrying we go on a shoddy run, throw away these games in hand and all other teams around us suddenly start picking up amazing form, that’s not going to happen.

It’s just really frustrating, the one season we have been consistently in the playoff positions rather than chasing them and falling short. By all accounts, one of our most impressive seasons, always, without fail, we focus on the negative aspect than the positives.

Have some faith in your club man.

Why should we worry abt Morton or Arbroath ?
Because we've lost and drawn with both of them this season , and are both playing better and picking up more points than we are .
Be happy to revisit this thread later, and I'd be delighted to be wrong , but to say we've nothing to be worried abt from those clubs smacks of arrogance to me ..

Are they above us in the league? I must be looking at the table upside down.

The flip side to look at things is that we've not been playing great but still competing for second in spite of this. We've recruited well and there's simply no barriers to going on another good run again. Let's leave it to the professional footballers rather than the professional doom mongerers.

It’s also not about who’s going to end up right or wrong come the end of the season, I won’t be revisiting the thread to say I told you so or expect something back at me if I was wrong.

It’s about whether you choose to adopt a positive outlook or a negative one, and I’m done with all the negativity, crikey we’ve had enough of it over the years.

I’m not being arrogant about other teams, Arbroath a prime example, we have two games in hand on them and look at their fixtures, they have Dundee away and Hearts at home next two so yes Arbroath don’t come into my thought process when it comes to promotion playoffs.

If someone was to offer us this position at the start of the season we would’ve taken it no questions asked.

Morton`s win at Inverness on Tuesday (a great result) has been their only win in their last ten games. They are bottom of the 6-game form table, and second-bottom of the 10-game form table.

I don`t think anyone on here is saying that our own form has been brilliant, but apart from QoS and Arbroath, no team in the division can be happy with their recent results.

6 GAME FORM
QoS 13
Hearts 12
Arbroath 11
Raith 10
Ayr 7
Dunfermline 7
ICT 6
Alloa 6
Dundee 5
Morton 5

10 GAME FORM
QoS 23
Hearts 18
Arbroath 16
Raith 16
Dundee 15
Dunfermline 13
ICT 9
Ayr 9
Morton 8
Alloa 7

Correct me if I am wrong but have we not been in the top three positions all season .I think in a very competative league we are still in a good position.
Yes we have dropped points we possible could have taken ,but thats the great thing about our league , it changes every week

Raymie The Legend
I agree with your post ! Probably the biggest thing that lets us down is our Inconsistency if it wasn`t for that we probably could have been sitting in a healthier position ! Convinced we have the players they just need to turn up to every game thinking it is Hearts or Raith they are playing as they seem to be able to raise their game against these 2
I am sure others will be saying that other teams have been inconsistent also but bottom line is I am not interested in any other team I am a Pars Man !! and it annoys me at time knowing we can do much better with the personnel we have

I think the overall standard of the squad is probably better than any we`ve had in the Championship but one of the effects of that is that it is not clear what our best starting XI is. Would we maybe have achieved more consistency if we hadn`t made as many unforced changes, particularly in midfield and up front? Not having a reserve team doesn`t help as playing first-team football is the only way to give players match practice but that`s the same for all teams of course.
