I've purchased the game, however the camera icon which you normally press to go onto the stream isn't doing anything...

I've got into the stream by going onto the fixtures tab, then pressing on that camera icon, however the usual one isn't working.

Just a heads up.

It’s a bit strange, because I genuinely think that the quality of our streams seem to have gotten progressively worse as the season has gone on. I’d have expected the opposite.

I was thinking that with camera work today. That aside scunnered with it today, LG tv, usually no problem, freezing, buffering and totally dropped out 5times since kick off, including just as we were about to take the pen. Totally Missed the penalty, just like the team...

We are not just bad at penalties we are terrible the midfield is non existent playing one striker at home shocking it’s a good job we got the points at the start of the season.

Shocking today. Tried all three streams, constantly dropped connection with an equally poor frame rate. No internet issues at home either (500Mb connection)

Great for 75 minutes and then lost it and took me nearly 10 minutes to get up and running again - based on the rest of the match I doubt if I missed much though.

Today has been the worst experience I have had with the streaming. It kept going down repeatedly the whole game. At 1 point it went down with 78 minutes on the clock and when it came back on it was showing 63 minutes on the clock, at the point when the referee was having a chat with Gus Mcpherson .

I`ve been monitoring the game and its been coming back in to me ok.
There was a drop for a few seconds about 15 minutes from the end.

AlfonzoBonzo, QOS use the same platform, I`ve just checked the server resources both use less than 1% for the game though one di dgo to 4% cpu utilisation around kick off.

I did a thorough test of the kit during the week at East End Park. the settings should be the same as previous setups.

If you had an issue can you let us know what device and browser you were using ?

First half, no problems, camera a bit jerky but I could live with that.

Second half, stream dropped a couple of times but refreshing it brought it back. Then after 75 minutes or so it all went to pieces - started buffering, the stream dropped out, eventually came back showing 63 minute picture, then stream dropped again. Got it back at 88 minutes, lost it again and then got it back at 92 minutes to see the end!

(All the time trying to count votes from three platforms for the DADSC MoM award. And then the Sainsburys van arrived!)

Not the biggest viewer numbers today,, but a lot of latecomers can cause issues with PayPal notifications being delayed. Always an issue when people turn up at the last minute

dd23 that`s an interested redirection I`ll look into that (had a think about this, it`s likely an error with the link from the fixture link)

I’ve used my laptop via tv as I’ve done all season and this and the QOS games went all wrong unlike most other games.
I heard about some connection with QOSTV so can Brian confirm this as it might be connected to two very bad broadcasts in succession.

“ If you had an issue can you let us know what device and browser you were using ?”

Started off with Samsung tv, which has had no issue with Pars TV until now. Switched to chrome on a MacBook and was the same issue. Repeatedly dropping to the match graphic, with the image of Craig Wighton with his arms folded. 5/6 times during the match it said the server was lost and another 2/3 times video seemed to continue underneath the graphic, but I had to come out and refresh, which was annoying.

Picture quality was also much poorer than it was earlier in the season. This has been the case for the last 2 or 3 games now. Is there a reason for this? Tested internet speed in the house several times and that wasn’t the issue.

I used on LG tv. Used same equipment all season. My internet was fine. Checked that when it went down near the end of game as all I was getting was white screen. I stream everything in my house these days with no issue, ever. Just seemed odd that I got sent to QOTS several times while refreshing, hence my query.

AdamAntsParsStripe, the issue last week at QOS was a technical problem with the camera which was resolved at 15:15.
They did have a couple drop outs from Dumfries too which was caused by their laptop.

I do see comments about getting drop outs today, I was watching the stream myself on Windows laptop, without issues except one drop out at 16:30 approx. I haven`t identified why some people had issues with drop outs.

The one drop out from EEP seemed to be a network disconnection which can happen occasionally.

I did think at the previous pars game there was a bit of pixellation seen with the grass, but I thought that it was fine today.

Will certainly be checking to see why some had issues and others were fine

For the past few games I've been on chrome on Windows 10 laptop. Cabled data connection straight into the router. We have fibre which is fairly constant between 45 and 60mb. Laptop is connected to tv with HDMI.
Today it was completely stable until I posted about the 70 min mark that it had dropped. I refreshed twice and got the steam back after about 2 mins using the method Brian posted a couple of weeks ago. After that I had no problems.

Worst viewing experience of the season today. Missed the first five minutes and stream dropped 5 or 6 times in the second half. Picture quality was also really poor throughout. It has got worse and worse as the season went on. Do the Club need to find the money for better equipment as the viewing experience just no is poor?

Had no issues logging on in previous weeks on a samsung TV.

Logging on today was a mare. Would put in my season ticket number fine, tried to put in my post code and was directed to a fault page with two home icons about 10 times. On pushing either home icon, i was directed to the QOTS home page. I eventually got on by putting my postcode in first then my season ticket number

Last 3 weeks or so the picture quality has been poor, today no matter what stream I chose I had a small buffer every maybe 3-5 minutes, for about a couple of seconds at a time

As other posters have said the picture quality has degraded recently no matter what stream I have picked.

Have used speed test on my connection and there is no issue with the speed or ping on my Internet connection.

Just to say this is not a dig, and I appreciate what you do, as an engineer I have written down everything to find a solution

I don’t really have a problem with bad pictures, that I can put up with but today was a real nightmare and I did try all the three stream options.
I realise it’s hard to pinpoint when other posters say they had no problems at all but just weird at my end when I’ve had relatively few problems until very recently.

Amazon Fire Stick, Silk browser, fibre to the property, only the fire stick and my mobile on the network at the time.
Tried streams 1 and 3.

I had a loss of stream on 4 occasions:
One right at the start of the second half a couple more then the drop out loads of folk mentioned close to the end. Each time it went back to the ParsTv page with the stream choices.

Is there any chance of a stream option with only stadium background noise?
Not a criticism as Jordan and the co-com are doing their best, however his "constant stream of consciousness" style just isn't for me. Professional commentators who have the same style put me off too.

Don't be afraid of silence at times would be my critique.

Was the worst it has ever been for me today.
Stopped/froze at least a dozen times using Firefox on my laptop with HDMI cable to my tv.
Early streams I would expect an issue or 2 but we seem to be going backwards with quality.
I tried stream 2 at 1 point but the picture quality wasn`t great and the picture quality on the highlights package is always way better than the live stream.

If you could improve the quality of the football too that would be appreciated.

I stream from a Windows 10 laptop and use Chrome and connect to TV via an HDMI cable. This season’s streaming has been the best quality and most reliable of any season I have been a ParsTV subscriber. The resolution is also so much better than it was a few years ago. As Brian says apart from some dropouts that affect us all, the reported problems and timings of them vary tremendously. Given this lack of consistency might some of the problems be due to local problems with internet connection and bandwidth?

Thanks for feedback.
Currently investigation these so the feedback is appreciated.

I am continually looking at ways to improve the stream output.
There was some pixellation issues for some recently, I thought these were resolved yesterday.

I did notice in the logs from yesterday that someone did have an issue and pressed reset frequently, probably hoping to get a restart.
However, the nature of streaming means that doesn`t work, it does take up to 30 seconds to stabilise.

One might blame local conditions though people do report they do have high internet connectivity.

On my old ipad using safari browser, 200 to 300mbps fibre through Virgin, first half dropped out maybe twice, second half 3/4 times.

QOS game and this game is worst it's been all season, I was getting stream when my pal in Dalgety Bay had a frozen picture.

No problems with picture quality.

If you look back, a lot of people lost the stream around 16:35, so hopefully something Brian can locate.

Like most people I'd assume, one of the first thing's I do when the stream drops is check another site, like forum for example, so definitely not a local issue.

I was streaming via the Web Video Caster android browser app to a Roku stick, which I appreciate is probably obscure. It works off the same stream as any browser - under the covers it extracts the akamaihd.net m3u8 link, along with any tokens and passes it to the Roku to stream.

Had no dropouts until 16:35. After that it came and went.

I have noticed you can't pause the stream for any length of time, it just restarts at the current time. I wonder if this could cause issues on some platforms if the player is trying to recover a dropout and is looking for a particular section? just guesswork 🙂

indeed that was the time 16:35 of a dropout (LAN isue) at the ground.
It came back on in a few seconds, but some had difficulty getting going again going by support calls then. (some pressing refresh too many times too quickly)

another angle perhaps is the setup related to browsers.
we could autoplay the stream (i.e. get it to start automatically)

however, browsers nowadays don`t like video automatically starting and one side affect is they can switch the audio off (we originally had a lot of support calls about no audio). the downside is that you have to press play again. I think that caught out some people yesterday ?.

I thought that not-enabling autoplay would be fine, as users would click play button on middle of screen.
it would be good to get opinion about whether autoplay should be on or off ?

Hi, as reported yesterday but to give full picture to help with analysis and hopeful resolution :
-was unusually late logging on this week. Probably 2.55, straight on, no problem using default stream on LG tv browser as previously used. Download speed >160, no other use of wifi. First few mins occasional freezing, camera shaky.. Complete drop out at penalty. 2mins or so to rejoin, then freezing regularly, sound out of sync dropping a few more times, rejoined using stream 2 then stream 3 at Brian's suggestion. Continued to drop though never completely logged out so didnt need to log in again. Switched to hp windows 10laptop using chrome, casting to TV with wifi. Started off ok, occasional freeze. Complete drop at 78mins, then 82, 86, 89. Broadband speed at all times >140.
If there are specific tips re refreshing etc, it may be worth posting in thread each match or emailing or parstv users. I note there are some bits of info on website but in midst of game this gets lost as you frantically try to get back in to see the penalty...

Usually the stream has been very good, but for the last few games the quality and the stream has been very poor for me, so much so can`t see the ball at times.

I use a laptop with Google and it is feed into my TV, all great until, as I say the last few games.

Also kept getting the cover screen up during the game which is overlaying the picture, we still hear the sound and I have to click it off.

Unfortunately Streaming with the equipment we and most clubs use and have can sometimes be the problem, I know we are not in the same league as Sky etc, so I accept there will be the odd issue, but all the same it really frustrates me more than not being at the game if it goes haywire.

Brian, can I suggest that you put a an Idiots guide for the ways to watch the stream with the system we use, as we all seem to be having issues with different ways of watching.

What is the best way to watch when I log in via a laptop through Google, and feed this through a cable to the TV. what stream is best? 1,2 or 3? an idiots guide for me would be helpful.

Many thanks Brian, I know it isn`t easy to get all plates spinning the way we want at times.

Mr P that`s a strange one, the holding page over audio,
I wonder if the stream has dropped but there is data in the buffer.

I had thought the stream was better as I said, and no pixellation.

Will add some further information. But what you are doing should work well. We will tweak the settings but I may also try another CDN

Up to yesterday, streams of home games have generally been OK for me with just the odd dip for a few seconds now and again, which is quite reasonable.

Yesterday was very different, though. Several drop-outs all through the game, including one in the middle of the second half for about 5 mins and then another at 88 mins that lasted almost to the end of the game. I got back on at 92:30 on the clock, so saw the last few seconds of the game.

I`d noticed that Brian said recently to use the refresh at the top right of the video screen if it does drop. I tried this and waited a good while each time but I was never able to get back in using that and ended up having to do an F5 to refresh the page each time.

Not sure if this helps or not, but there was also some weird behaviour when I first tried to open it at 2:48. It wouldn`t let me open the video stream, saying that I was already logged in on another device. I wasn`t (and have never used any other device to access it at any time during the season). I`ve never had that before. It did go back to normal within a few minutes though, and I was in for the start of the game.

Is it possible there;s some big Windows update going out at the moment, which is downloading and churning away in the background?

Socks, thanks for that.

I found a couple of small issues You saw a message indicating that you were logged into another device. There was also a message saying you were logged in successfully so you shoudl have been Ok to continue.

That warning should have not been shown. I hadn`t updated the ParsTV section and that caused that issue.
If people had an incorrect login, there was also a button which kindly redirected people to the QOS website (oops ! - now sorted as the updated hadn`t been included).
