Really disappointing that a striker with a good penalty record this season hid behind a pair of centre halves in the shootout.

Mon the Pars!!!!!!!!!!!

He missed in the cup against St Johnstone maybe played in his mind.

Confidence could be low considering the manager hardly uses him even though we haven’t been scoring.

No putting the blame on OHara outing it firmly on Crawford, if he had a clue the game wouldn’t go to extra time

Did he hide behind them or did Crawford not pick him?

Why would Crawford not fancy him over 2 centre backs?

Exactly what chance have we got, but what has Crawford done to help OHara confidence wise?

Has he gave him a run of games - No

Did he bring another striker to the club and play him straight away - yes

Wighton has probably played more minutes in a pars top than OHara.

Cammypar, if my striker didn`t wish to take a penalty in the early stages of the Scottish cup I would be livid. He is meant to be a goalscorer! Pressure shouldn`t get to him in the early stages of a Scottish cup in front of no fans! I`d be shocked if he didn`t want to take one.

I do agree that he needs a run of games to see what he can do. I`d play him and Wighton together.

"If a striker doesn’t feel confident enough to take a penalty, what fkn chance have we got."

Haven`t we missed successive penalties in the last two league games ?

Not surprising that some players might not be too confident of a repeat performance ?

Didn't stop Wighton going up and taking one after his miss v Morton at EEP.

Would McManus if still on the pitch have taken a penalty if still on the pitch. Yes he would, however he left Ohara on and that meant our defenders took penalties. I do not understand why Ohara was given such a lengthy contract.

I feel sorry for all our strike force. Think McManus, O’Hara, Wighton are all decent for this division. Remember O’Hara scoring a hat trick to beat Alloa away earlier this season. If we had a decent midfield and a motivated well organised team then I think our strikers would be doing well.

I’m just throwing this random out there but would Whittaker have the leadership and experience to be a caretaker Manager in the event SC stepped down? Probably get pelters for this but just a thought 🤨. I think SC has lost the dressing room.

There was clearly something other than he was surplus to requirements in this deal. I think loaning Turner out was the right decision.

c'mon the pars

Really? Loaning out our best attacking midfielder? I would say SC made a big mistake.... but you never know hopefully our current midfield can pass the ball forward as as soon as they receive the ball there is no attacking play hence the hoof up the park!

Do you not think Turner has done something in the background? Like stand up to Crawford and tell him what he thought? That’s why he’s away to Airdrie? He could definitely have done a job here

Turner had been poor for a long time before not being played.

What's happened to McInroy? Could he be the more attack minded midfielder.

Did you not see the game on Tuesday night ? There was rumours McInroy’s ghost appears in the tv pictures sometimes. It may have even touched the ball once in the second half.

I couldn't face watching it after the torture on Saturday. Zero entertainment.

Jake89 - if you check out the MOM votes on this forum for the last few games Turner started you will see he consistently had the highest number. I was very critical of him last year but for me he was our best player this season and is hugely missed.

McInroy was poor on Tuesday but didn’t look fit - hopefully getting a game under his belt will have helped him. I’d get him in the team for Saturday.

I did not see much wrong with Kevin or Declan or Craig on Tuesday.

The Defence was secure as ever.

However, we had little threat till, belatedly,Dom and Fraser and Iain came on.

The current problems are in the midfield. Our strikers live off scraps.

We must have two up front at Dundee not the over cautious nonsense displayed against Inverness.

I’d actually like to see us play 3-5-2 with the full backs pushed on and Dom in the number 10 role. Unfortunately with Vytas away and Watson injured we don’t have the personnel just now.

Mon the Pars!!!!!!!!!!!

Tbh I think we`re seeing a bit of a worrying trend here.

We have a manager who is a former international striker who can`t get proven strikers scoring regularly. Andy Ryan, Declan McManus and Kevin O`Hara. Gabby McGill also had a strong youth scoring record before his recruitment.

The exception would be obviously be Kevin Nisbett, but going on what`s happened with the others I would say that was more down to natural ability than anything else.

Can`t fault Crawford in terms of player recruitment but he seems absolutely hopeless in terms of management. Can`t help but feel the Turner affair would have been avoided were Crawford commanding the confidence of the squad. My Dad has said since his appointment that he doesn`t really inspire confidence and it would seem he`s right.
