Its a pitty John Robertson is going through bad personal circumstances as would love to see him at EEP .
Maybe he can be convinced if healthy enough to return with the short travel distance to his family.
I hoped every week that Stevie would turn it around but sadly its not happening

Craig Levein lives local, has a wealth of managerial experience and is unemployed.
He'd be my pick.

Riggght.
So tonight we were gubbed by a Raith team managed by McGlynn, someone who was an abject failure at Hearts, and at everyone else bar Raith, who's career high is finishing in the top half of the championship.
Also mooted is John Robertson, who before being appointed by Inverness wouldn't have been anyone's choice, due to him having bad spells at a good few clubs.
However Craig Levein, who's had success at clubs bigger than our own that led to him being appointed as the national team manager, isn't good enough? He did get a reputation for being a negative manager of Scotland, however so is Clarke and he's qualified us for the euros. If you're a Scotland manager from the past couple of decades you'd be foolish to not try and keep the defence protected.
His Dundee United side was fantastic to watch.
He's got a far superior record to both Robertson and McGlynn, I'd like Robinson but would he be interested? Doubt it. His stocks still high and he doesn't need to come.
So that leaves us with two choices, as it always does.
We either appoint a young rookie manager looking for his first position, he will have no blemishes on his career, however we'll also have little indication as to how good he is.
Or we appoint an experienced manager, chances are funds will be tight so that rules out appointing a manager currently in a post, which means that said manager will be unemployed, that usually means because they ended there last job badly. You will not got an experienced manager who has no failures during his career, who is unemployed, that manager does not exist.
However yes, Crawford is a better manager.
People need to give there head a wobble.

Spoke about the Pars with him before and he certainly never gave of that impression tbh.
You'll be devastated to learn that there's not many managers with experience who live closer to EEP.

Craig Levein to steady try and salvage our season. Not better options out there just now. Of course we should be looking at someone more long term after this season. Stewart Petrie the obvious man.

Whoever says Craig Levein has a really short memory- the man that actually played 4-6-0, the most defensive manager I have ever seen. He played the ‘let’s play not to lose and if we can nick a goal all the better’ style more than I’ve ever seen. Awful awful manager - wouldn’t let him manage the car park on game day.

Pep Guardiola has played 460, I'd take him tbh.
Worth thinking that Craig Levein had these blemishes managing Scotland, at least the mistakes was at a big gig, rather than Crawford being gubbins at East Fife. You don't have the management career Levein has had if you're an awful manager, it's really that simple.
John Hughes ffs!

I worked with his wife years ago and she told me the same thing. Really doesn't like us which is fine by me as his teams can get football stopped.

We’d be lucky to get Levein but he’s a massive improvement on what we have. Guys like Robinson couldn’t give a toss, they’d rather be picking up the odd TV gig here and there.

Don’t get this thing for ex players, Robinson is a decent shout. It’s just a shame the manager gets the brunt of criticism although they know they are there to be shot at. Looking at that display last night it was a collective tools down and that is a disgrace. It’s also a big up yours to SC.

I know Lee Bullen is an excellent coach from first hand experience. Fact is we could never compete with Sheffield Wednesday when it comes to salary. Obviously well thought of there too as he has survived a few managerial casualties. I should also point out that being a good coach doesn`t necessarily make you a good manager.

Aye but maybe he wants to try and expand his portfolio. He is still doing under 23's and was looked over for the first team role there recently.
Maybe Lee Bullen would be interested sometimes it's not all about the money for some folk.

Aye and John Potter is a classic example, even though it could be argued that he never managed the Pars for a full season with his own squad of players.

I spoke with a Wednesday supporter through work, he seems to be very well liked and respected by the club and supporters, I would say it's unlikely he would end up here...
