Watson (if unfit first Mayo, then Gaspuitis)
E Murray
Edwards

Banks
Whittaker (if unfit Mayo)
Wilson
Thomas

O`Hara
McManus

Subs: Gill, Macdonald, Gaspuitis, Mayo, F Murray, Henderson, McCann

Might be better to go 4-5-1 and take out O`Hara for Henderson/F Murray as McManus is probably more suited to be a lone striker. Macdonald is unfortunate to be out of the XI but I can`t fit 3 fullbacks in one team.

We`ve shipped 8 goals in 2 games and we`re playing the best team in the league. Anyone that wants to go with 2 out and out strikers - especially if one of them is O`Hara - needs to watch what`s been going on.

Mayon can play if Watson or Whittaker are unfit.

If we go with one up front I would pick McManus. Our best results and performances with 1 up front came against Hearts and Raith when he played there.

O`Hara`s touch has been poor in the recent games and the ball would be coming back at us rapidly and I don`t think Wighton is a lone striker either unless we get bodies up there far quicker than we have done every other time he has played that role.

It`s a tough one because Hearts have also shipped 5 in their last 2 games against Brora and Queen of the South who both had 2 up front. They`ve only won 2 of their last 8 games.I hope we don`t give them too much respect.

Is Wighton permitted to play? I’d definitely have him in the team if available.

McManus on his own up front and a 4-5-1 formation - 6 defensively minded players and 4 attacking types.

A draw wouldn`t be the worst result for us after that debacle on Tuesday

If Wighton can't play, then it has to be McManus.

Those wanting mcmanus back in I assume it’s for lack of anyone else? We’d be better of with the big Lithuanian up there. I know Ohara can’t control his bladder but at least he’s scoring.

Mcinroy should be nowhere near full time football so Wilson in for him. Henderson raw and shouldn’t start probably will due to having nothing else.

The rest is neither here nor there, a draw would be a fantastic result for us, hearts have been very poor recently and a trip to east end is usually good for getting opposition teams back on track.

There were no positives from tuesday

I would like to see Gaisputis start but can’t see it after just coming off of international duty.

I don’t think O’Hara has done anything wrong to get dropped, let McManus sit behind him and do the leg work which he does anyway.

Whittaker and Wilson to keep it tight and break up play in the centre and let Banks and Thomas loose up the wings.

We need to shut up shop at times on Saturday and hope to knick one on the counter if we have any chance of winning.

Berkley, it's because if you play O'Hara up front on his own against Hearts, he'll be a ghost. At least they'll know McManus is playing - and he poses more of a goal threat than McCann.

Spot on.

Also, O'Hara has a 1st touch like a snooker cushion.

Mostly, DA-go Par Adonis's team.

Whittaker, if fit, for the experience and organisation.

1 out-and-out striker to make us more solid. Quickly becomes 3 up on the counter.

McManus to put the defence under pressure for 90 minutes.

Only doubt is Henderson + Banks. I'd prefer to start with just one of the two, probably Banks, but F Murray is the other option and doesn't track back enough for me... Maybe you're right after all, DA-go 🤔

If it is the Fraser Murray that played in the 4-1 game against the Rovers, I'd definitely have him in. I've not seen him in a while though.

It seems that Watson and Whiittaker may not be available as well as Wighton. Couldn`t Kyle MacDonald do a job in midfield? He seems to have plenty energy and enthusiasm.

Neither McManus nor O`Hara has the touch to play on his own up front in my opinion so that`s going to be a problem too.

As wee Eck says, team news from COWS:

[I]"Craig Wighton will miss out against Hearts due to his loan agreement with his parent club. Vytas Gašpuitis will be back from international duty with Lithuania but both Paul Watson and Steven Whittaker (ankle) are doubtful through injuries."

Probably means a similar XI as against the wee team 🙁. I'd start McManus ahead of O'Hara. Is Gašpuitis better than Mayo in central defence? McInroy just in front of the defence if Whittaker is out?

Wash your mouth out fcda, if mcinroy is in the starting line up we’ve effectively already chucked it and craw just looking for his payoff.

Gaspuitis in defense with mayo along side Wilson in front imo. Would prefer Watson in defense with mayo in midfield.

Stevie and his back room staff have had enough time on what team/formation should be picked ahead of this game.
I don’t like Neilson but he would have had us watched during the week and I would start the same formation Raith did just to see if it works as Crawford doesn’t have a clue!
