Clearly stipulate in Nisbet's contract that the wee team shall receive a signed football (Mitre), packet of Haribo (Giant Strawbs or Tangfastics) and a bottle of Barr's Cola (glass).

It seems a very legitimate obsession to me, as the share of any KN sell-on fee will presumably make a huge difference to our finances which I imagine have taken a knock due to Covid (despite the support grants). Out finances ultimately will help determine what sort of players we can sign and hence affect our probabilities of success going forward. If we can be seen as a good place for talent to develop, this might help attract some players to the club. I think many on here also wish the lad well, and hope his career goes from strength to strength.

Nizzy scores from a free-kick thanks to a wicked deflection off the defensive wall. More like an o.g. tbh.

Nizzy turns provider with a header which comes back off the post for Boyle to smash home. Dunfie boy Greg Fleming is in goals for Stranraer.

Brentford are not a big club, but they came close to an automatic promotion place to the Premiership and could still go up through the play-offs.
If they do, they'll need to spend money and they'll have it available. IMO it's as much as Nisbet could expect at this point in his career - but would Hibs hold out for more (again)?

Brentford are owned by Matthew Benham, one of the more serious names in statistical high roller sports betting, close to the level of Tony Bloom.

They are completely sustainable, have built a brand new stadium debt free, and one of the lower wage bills in the Championship (although they still blow away Hibs salary wise)

They have developed ( not followed) one of the leading player analysis models in the world, which identifies `value` players, i.e. ones that have been passed on, overlooked, or simply have not been on the radar of bigger clubs

Take a look at their respective league positions, Nisbet could easily fit that profile.

On the other hand, it`s the time of year where agents talk up `rumours`........

Having moved down to England a few years back I adopted Brentford as my local club and I've went to many games and follow them along with the Pars, I don't see them moving for Nisbet though.
Currently they have Ivan Toney (record breaking scoring season) as there number one striker, if they get promoted he should stay and quite simply, he's better than Nisbet, the first back up is Marcus Forss, who's a finish international and will likely be the first choice if we don't go up, with highly rated Steven Pressley son as the next reserve...
Quite simply Brentford don't need a striker, this is just paper talk. Probably initiated by Nisbets side, in the last 3 seasons Brentford have had 3 different strikers reach 25 league goals, moving them on for 20 million plus each time, what do you reckon happens to a strikers value when Brentford are linked with them?

Non-story that the Sun has used to fill a gap. Howe will know exactly who he wants, plus Celtic famously undervalue Scottish based players. He will end up in England.

I guess if they used Griffiths and possibly another player in a player swop plus money that would be the worst possible deal for us, but would suit Hibs better. Say they got players worth 2 million plus a 1 million cash, they would only have to give us a percentage of that cash, whereas a full cash offer would be great new for us

We would need to agree a valuation for Griffiths with Hibs to work out how much we would get. If no agreement can be reached it goes to an independent tribunal.

I am pretty sure they`ll have bases covered re the sell on e.g. say Hibs did a straight swap for a couple of fringe Celtic players and no money changed hands.

Might all end up down to the player himself if more than one club meets Hibs valuation

Nisbet may choose to go to Celtic as he may see that as a steady progress before he moved from them to a bigger English club like Crystal Palace

How do % of future transfer fees work where payment is made over time, based on performance or on potential future achievements?

Say Hibs receive 3m. That could be paid as so much up front and then the rest spread over a number of months or an amount if a player is capped for their country or scores so many goals, etc. Does the previous club receive their percentage as each of these milestones are reached? Sounds pretty messy if so.

Whatever happens, if we do have such an agreement with Hibs it will be a significant lifeline for us.

That's what contract documents spell out, and why they involve negotiations between the parties. The details are almost certainly confidential and known to very few people, even in the clubs concerned.

The problem is that people make suggestions and suggestions get discussed as facts within a few posts.

Suggestion... maybe ifthere is a player swap the sell on fee travels with the player. He wins the euro cup scoring a hatrick in the final for Celtic and gets a £100,000,000 transfer to Barca.
