"Hearts are going to lift the Championship trophy tomorrow but have promised their fans the celebrations will be muted.
Hearts have come under pressure to not accept the traditional Championship trophy from a section of their fans amid lingering anger over last seasons Relegation. "

What a shower of entitled ๐Ÿ”” ends.

Course it's in our own hands but be nice to do it with before the last game of the season.

Hearts win and we win, we qualify for playoffs.

Hearts win, Raith win and we win, we qualify for playoffs and prob be in 3rd place.

You say weโ€™ve needed other teams to do us favours to be where we are. Same can be said for a few others as everyone has beaten everyone in this league!

I`ve never understood this `relying on others` argument. That`s how a league competition works. Unless you win all your games you`re always going to be `relying on others`.

Parsfangaz

It is a cut throat league anyone can beat anyone so if this is what you call a favour you are watching a different league from me as you stated !
And as I said win our next 2 games and we are in the top four on our own merit
And I know if we win today and ICT lose we are there before our last game and if Raith beat Dundee it's another scenario again
Before we get ahead of ourselves Let's get the 3 points today

This. Anyone who thinks Hearts will deliberately lose to ICT today is clearly paranoid. If it does happen, it will be because ICT want it more and play out of their skins and not because there's some kind of old pals act.

They may not deliberately lose. But there will be many of a Maroon persuasion who wonโ€™t be that bothered should their wee pals with significant connections to Tynecastle get a wee win when it actually doesnโ€™t matter to them today.

Call me paranoid all you like, but of all the teams to be playing in a dead rubber game for the Jambos, Inverness is the one theyโ€™d be least bothered about losing.

If you think that doesnโ€™t have a bearing at times, then I call naivety. ๐Ÿ˜‰

I`ve often wondered how a team `not trying` happens. Do the directors have a word with the manager who then has a word with the players, most of whom have no emotional connection with the club or its former players, who are all prepared to be complicit in this wicked plan?

The other sides in the playoff frame could reasonably suggest that the Para have had a rub of the green - playing the already managerless relegated side on the last day of the regular season.

I would imagine a lot of players have contracts which have win bonuses, goal bonuses and that type of thing, plus many of them will have their own personal targets that they want to achieve for goals in a season etc. I don't think many of them will have it in their character to effectively go easy on the opposition.
You need to remember that to be a professional footballer, that competitive instinct is at an exceptionally high level, and I really can't see match fixing being an issue in the Scottish leagues at this standard

It doesnt take a whole team to fix a match.
Just one or two players with a soft spot or a grudge for an affected clubs.

A penalty is easy to give away.

Andy Rhodes or John Watson anyone?

If you ask any footballer what his pet football hates are, I can guarantee you that he'll reply either 'being injured' or 'losing' or both. I've been asking lots of different Pars players this very question during the Pars Tackle Health visits since 2013 and the answers are always the same.

And don't forget the small matter of the win bonus.

You'll need to elaborate, VEE. I'm pretty certain footballers hate losing games and will never deliberately go out and not try - UNLESS they have been corrupted by a sizeable cash offering by some crook with a vested interest.

And as we saw today, Hearts went out and did a professional job on ICT, despite the unfounded fears of some of our fans.
