 Post-match interviews

The usual rambling, contradictory stuff from Dick - ours was never a penalty and the game should have been stopped in the build-up to our third goal!

The camera at the corner gave a good view of the challenge on Wighton and it looked a foul. Their penalty looked just as soft and why should the ref stop the game just because a player goes down injured? Dick must be getting soft in his old age.

SC said McManus was playing with a strapped shoulder and that was why he was replaced.

What was he referring to about players talking to the press?

Dick`s hackers were quite happy to boot their way through the game and at least one yellow for a professional foul should have been given in the first half. Wighton was deliberately knobbled for the penalty and their man took a flying leap into and over our player before Wighton`s first goal. It was more like a foul against our man than their`s. So Dick`s gum bumping lacks credibility I`m afraid.

Just listened to them and Craw summed it up perfectly, Dick sees the game the way Dick wants to see it.

Campbell moans about our penalty being the softest penalty you will see not noticing Wighton clearly taken out, yet nothing about his teams penalty no shock there!!

As for the excuses for the 3rd goal, if your players stop, don't track the run, what do you expect!! It was a shoulder injury so course the ref isn't gonna stop play cause that's the laws of the game!!

Declan when he went off I noticed got an ice pack straight away so knew the shoulder knock from last week was an issue.

Folk can go on about how Craw sounds in interviews but would have him all day long ahead of clowns like Campbell with his embarrassing comments

Just listened to the interviews, and Campbell doesn't half make me chuckle. A right Fifer for sure with his comments and personality. Didn't agree with half the things he said, but he finished with a well done to 'his club' Dunfermline for getting into the playoffs

First thing you get taught playing football in primary is clear yer lines according to dick. Actually, no it’s not, it’s play to the whistle. Seems to have forgotten that

Really liked Stevies interview. For me his care for the club and how he carries himself is never in doubt.

Dick is a slaver. Softest penalty all year? Stonewaller ffs. 😂. And goal 3? He should concentrate more on O’Brien hurling himself into a challenge and injuring himself, and for the rest of his team - what happened to the adage “play to the whistle”.

Best quote of his interview “no complaints” before complaining about, getting booked by the ref for his chat, the penalty, the third goal, us taking 20 minutes for a goalkick, comments made by our players in the papers (?), and his sauce sachet for his half time pie not being easy to open. 🤯

I watched the game closely and give full credit to Arbroath for their in yer face tactics, question every decision method and you can see clearly why they are playing above their station. I’d be proud of that tactic in their situation as a fan and I don’t ever forget we were in their position in football for many years.
Give credit when due.

It could be a blessing in disguise if McManus is injured - now in know way to do I want anyone to be injured. As others have pointed out on other threads, despite the last two wins, our formation with McManus as a kind of attacking midfielder doesn`t make good use of him and leaves the team unbalanced.

We need another central midfielder beside Whittaker, which at the moment probably means Mayo (as he shouldn`t be needed at centre back with Watson fit again) or McInroy. Ideally Iain Wilson is fit for the playoffs and if he is, he`s first choice beside Whittaker in my eyes.

Gaspuitus was subbed yesterday because for the first time he wasn`t playing that well (nor Mayo actually) and Watson is I reckon, a better defender.

Not specifically but he did say how difficult it had been for Gaspuitis coming to a strange country during a pandemic and not being able to socialise with his team-mates in a normal way. I thought he maybe wanted to give Watson some game-time with so many big games coming up. I also think he`s probably the best all-round defender we have so it didn`t weaken the defence.

With respect, Watson wouldn't have been introduced yesterday to give him game time! Were were in the middle of a must win game and SC must have felt Gasputis was struggling and therefore replaced him for that reason. It wasn't the moment to just give someone game time.

Yeh Watson came on to bring some experience to the back line, it cant been easy for Vytas to come and settle in with all thats been going on.

As had mentioned elsewhere, Campbells interview was embarrassing.

Stevie imho has been spot on most weeks tbh when you sit back and take a structured rationale look at the game and not the emotional ridden rants we see during and straight after games watching on an online stream where u tend to not see the full game and player positions or the effect the weather has.
