I'm much, much happier to see us more compact in the middle. We have enough with Thomas, Henderson, Wighton and O'Hara to cause them problems.

I don't think we are its back to fairly even at the moment. The only dangerous moment we've had was when Comrie slipped. We've edged the rest of it and created the better chances.

Thomas needs to play it first time he’s attracting a lot of attention every time he receives the ball. We should us this to our advantage.

Better team 1st 45mins.

Tactics working spot on

Whitts and Mayo doing very well in the middle of the park.

Early goal for us in 2nd half wouldn't go amiss!!

Henderson quiet compared to the 1st leg but most of our play in 1st 30mins all down our right hand side.

Wighton's done very little since he missed that very good chance. Throwing lots of attacking players on is no guarantee of scoring.

Quality in the championship this season has been woeful. The fact we got into the playoffs shows that. When you compare this shower to the AJ team that lost to Dundee Utd in the playoffs a couple years back it’s wild to think they finished in the same position.

We took off a centre half but kept a back 4. Whittaker dropped back, and inexplicably thought the keeper was coming out.

If we were keeping the back 4, Whittaker should have been off for Murray. Another masterstroke by Stevie.

What do you expect PARS207? Positivity after being well beaten by a team we should be beating? We`ve been absolutely woeful after going 1-0 down and never even put them under pressure. Embarrassing second half and hopefully we can sort out the major issues for next season - starting with a new manager...

Far too many balls went astray today , hoof up the park , cannot pass to our own players etc, just not enough quality when required
there`s goal number 2 from a hump up the park and we cannot deal with it
Absolutely rubbish ! game at EEP has certainly come back to haunt us !
I am with others start the clear out as the players we have are certainly not up to getting us up to the Premier league , and I would be contemplating much more than that ! Our away form last season and this season is Abysmal to say the least
really thought we had a chance today !

He needs to go. There is not one positive to take away from this season. Can take some of they players with him. Murray thinks he is Premiership material but launches the ball out for a throw in when there is no pressure every single time. That’s just one example of the dross we currently have.

Well played raith, fully deserved for them. The away record for us has cost us dearly once again and we've looked toothless for most of the season. A lot of important decisions to be made in the next couple months. Think we have the foundations of a decent team but need to improve upon several positions to be more consistent next season. Good job by everyone at the club for making it through a difficult season with covid.

Not really my point, but thanks for presuming.

We didn't need to keep a back 4. Moving Whittaker there was nonsense and cost us the second goal. Ugwu got between Watson and Whittaker - Watson would have been man marking him if Whitts wasn't there.

Stevie is just too naive. Rovers were very street wise after they scored, and we just didn't stand up to it.

wouldn't say raith were best team today, for 60mins we looked very solid and a real threat. Raith got the small breaks that matter, Thomas playing the lad onside after trying to close the, cross down on the far side, Aitken not showing red to Matthews in the last 20mins,

Very similar to the Utd play off game 3 years ago, big moment in that game and 1st leg this year 2 on 1 break away and wrong decision made costs us a 1 on 1 with keeper.

4th place finish in a league with arguably the worst standard of football i can remember at this level.

Have been devoid of ideas and absolutely awful to watch since before Christmas.

No axe to grind with Crawford, one of best players i've seen for the Pars but as a manager just not up to it. Had more than a fair crack of the whip and sadly came up well short.

Time to go.

Closing down all over the park on Tuesday winning the ball high up the park and looked like everyone gave 110%.

Complete opposite today. Terrible performance I thought personally.

The brand of football under Crawford is not what any Pars fan wants. The customer must be listened to Mr Mcarthur, do your job and sack him first thing Monday morning. If you can’t do it please step aside and appoint a new chairman, this club belongs to the fans and not you.

Difference on Tuesday was Raith misplaced passes which we had someone close to, same tactics today but Raith didn't lose the ball, pretty simple.

The nature of Rovers promotion last season is irrelevant - they have achieved the right to contest the playoffs 2020/21 on results. Which is commendable for a team coming up.

I did not see a collapse. Just 11 players giving their all.

We were throwing bodies forward and got caught with a classic counter….well a punt up the park actually.

Better team in both games, created more chances in both games. Played some good football and defended well.

Could not put the ball in the net though and that’s what cost us.

Lacking composure in and around the box, too many snatched shots.

Better team lost that tie.

The brand of football under Crawford is not what any Pars fan wants. The customer must be listened to Mr Mcarthur, do your job and sack him first thing Monday morning. If you can’t do it please step aside and appoint a new chairman, this club belongs to the fans and not you.

A Great statement.

Absolutely collapsed After Raith scored

I did not see a collapse. Just 11 players giving their all.

We were throwing bodies forward and got caught with a classic counter….well a pint up the park actually.

Better team in both games, created more chances in both games. Played some good football and defended well.

Could not put the ball in the net though and that’s what cost us.

Lacking composure in and around the box, too many snatched shots.

Better team lost that tie.

how far u go against the majority on here who clearly know much much more than most managers and chairmen do....

If scraping fourth before being knocked out of the playoffs by your local rivals aying awful football is considered a success then don't be surprised if people vote with there feet.

We are not getting out of this division with Crawford as a manager.

We were a bit unlucky over the two games, I feel. For the 90 mins on Tuesday and the first half today we were the better side, but probably just needed a wee bit of luck to get a goal and it didn`t come. There wasn`t that much in today`s game and a draw would have been about right, but I suppose that`s just how it goes sometimes. We never really got a break, whereas the Rovers did for the goal. I don`t think it was an absolute shocker from our keeper and the wet conditions would have made it difficult, but it`s another mistake as he really should have been able to get it away to the side.

The really disappointing thing over these two gams was that after going behind, we never looked like getting back into it. This has been a major failing for months - we can look OK when it`s 0-0 but as soon as we go a goal down, we just don`t look like getting it. I`m struggling to remember us having a spell of pressure when a goal down, and that includes games earlier in the season when we did come back to take points in games. The changes made late in today`s game didn`t really help at all. Sometimes you can put some pressure on but the goal doesn`t come and you have to accept that, but I find it hard to accept how poor we have been on a regular basis when looking for an equaliser. On the other side of that, when we have a lead, we don`t manage the game well and find ourselves hanging on.

We played OK over the two games and I don`t think it`s an embarrassment, just a game that went against us. Understandable though that emotions are high at the moment after losing a big game.

A wee bit more quality in front of goal rather than luck I think. Over the 2 legs I think we had 6 guilt edge chances

The point is that it's not embarrassing or a disgrace to lose to your local rivals in a 2 leg play off game.

He'll be gone next week. 90% of the squad don't need to follow him. I reckon the signed players we have plus a tactically aware management team can ensure we finish higher than 4th next year

Once again I am trying to be realistic on our performance Doesn`t matter who is in front of us I want to win
But not to progress today is hard to take as I thought we were the better team over the 2 legs but being the better team doesn`t mean your going win ! but in both games when we had the chances to take the lead we didn`t take them which has come back to haunt us and this has been our problem all season and of course giving teams cheap goals , before they scored defensively we had a blip or 2 before the goal ! OFW saved the shot but again palmed it into the direction of Vaughn , if he had directed it away from goal or out for a corner I think we would have been going into extra time as both teams didn`t look like scoring !
We need to ring in a few changes at EEP as what we have at the moment is not working

What happened to the performance today. Nothing like Tuesday.

Closing down all over the park on Tuesday winning the ball high up the park and looked like everyone gave 110%.

Complete opposite today. Terrible performance I thought personally.

Difference on Tuesday was Raith misplaced passes which we had someone close to, same tactics today but Raith didn't lose the ball, pretty simple.

Trying to say our good performance on Tuesday was because of misplaced passes by raith ?
It was our pressure on the ball, closing down and sheer effort that caused that.

If you thought we had the same tactics today and the players had the same energy I have no idea what game you were watching.

Can`t understand that we get to the business end of the season and not have a settled team never mind a settled way of playing. I`m afraid the last few games putting McManus in midfield is pretty desperate. Shame really, our defence is decent for this level, I like having two boys up front, but the rest of it is a shambles.

I do get the unlucky argument to an extent - we were undoubtedly the better team Tuesday and first half today. One chance taken and its a different tie altogether.

However, the facts are we didn't take our chances - and that's not just bad luck at play.

After our start to the season, we should have been in the Semi already by securing second. Our away form is truly abysmal in a season where there's no fans. To me, it's an indication of Crawford's cautious approach which doesn't gain you promotion. Some games you need to gamble, and I think Stevie is too risk averse in games.

Our squad is full of good players for this level, but Stevie just isn't getting the best out of them. He's truly one of the best players I've seen in a Pars shirt, and would have loved nothing more than for him to be a success. It hasn't worked, so time to move on.

Over the two games we had the better of three out of the four 45 minutes periods. Crawford g it in the neck but the teams he put out were about as good as you could muster from the fit players available. it was the players not him that cost us over these two games. I haven`t gone along with this `we have a good squad` stuff all season, it`s not much different to the other teams. Only about 5 of the players contracted for next season are good enough to be regulars in a promotion chasing side.

I agree DBA. We were far more creative than them in the danger areas on Tuesday and couldn't convert whereas today they were no better than us but scored.
I like a lot about OFW but he has a very unfortunate habit of stopping shots only to set up another scoring opportunity in the process. But that wasn't really the issue for me today. It was the fact that we created very little after the first 20 mins or so.

Have never understood people clamouring for a "clear-out". We`ve been doing that for years and there`s been no resulting long term improvement. We`ve got some very good players in this squad and we should be building a future squad around them. A few (and I mean "A FEW") can probably be let go or replaced: we all have our views on who should stay. As for the manager, that`s s decision for the Board and definitely not for the raging keyboard warriors on this forum. If Crawford`s target was to reach the play-offs then so be it. Money is tight at the moment (No, guys. Really!) and we can`t get landed with expensive severance payments and the like. As for "the investors" they appear to be in this for a bit of fun and for those who naively believe that their nominal injection of cash signifies serious intent to launch us into the big time indicates serious brain melt.

In my opinion, I thought tat we looked more likely to win the game than Raith. I thought that when the shot that led to the goal came in Vaughn looked offside. Unfortunately after that we fell away. I won't blame any of our players but two or three were nothing like the players we saw on Tuesday. Raith got the advantage due to an incompetent referee and linesman. It will be interesting to see what our team is going to be like next season.

Investors are in this for a bit of fun? Seriously? I suspect the brain melt may be closer to home than you think. I don't know any investors who throw their money away for a bit of fun. Not sure where the fun that you are talking about is anyway.

Well said!!

The players out of contract can only see 3 or 4 maybe being offered new deals. With some more certainly interns of crowds and finance for a full season next year, would like to think we will not be as reliant in as many loan transfers which course they help but ideally your better off with just a few rather than half the team.

The investors and existing board have already said it won't be a case of throwing money at players short or medium term so folk need get their heads round that fact moving forward.

Referee yes for not showing red card for Matthews think it was but the goal he is miles onside, Thomas is playing him on standing on the bye line after tracking back the initial cross.

In a poor Championship we have been mediocre.

Surely we can expect and aspire for better than we have had for the last three seasons?

Before anyone brings up Covid; that’s been the same for all clubs this season.

As for a clear out, it’ll already happen - thanks to Crawfords over reliance on substandard loan players. He’s had his chances now, it’s time for a change at the top.

I sincerely hope and expect our investors are looking for better. I trust they will insist on the right decisions being made and we can have a fresh look, strategy and impetus to get us into the Premier League.

I don`t think we need a clear out. We have a decent squad a players signed on for next season. A new goalkeeper would be a priority for me. Out of the loan players I would only have Henderson and perhaps Mayo back again next season. A decent manager could do well with our squad. 1 away win all season is shocking. We achieved playoffs but we should have been much more comfortable and not taking at the first hurdle.

This idea that Crawford has signed quality players makes me laugh. The starting line up is bang average .

OFW - wrists like my 90 year old gran

Comrie - good championship Player
Watson - decent championship player
Murray - massively overrated , stupid hair cut. Auld pals act before the game
Edwards - League 1 player . Decent plumber , stupid hair cut

Thomas - our best player today but far too inconsistent
Whitaker - finished at this level
Mayo- utter dross
Henderson - played out of position today . Fancies the World Cup pass everytime . Might have a decent career for someone like Motherwell or Kilmarnock .

O’Hara - absolutely hopeless
Wighton - could be a decent striker at this level . Questionable bottle

I would agree with OFW. As much as I like him and he is capable of making some tremendous saves, he makes far too many errors that have cost us this season.

I would say Comrie and Watson could easily play in the SPL but think Murray is very overrated and I won`t be too gutted to see him leave. Edwards is a decent full back and will hopefully get better as he gets older.

Thomas could easily play in the English Championship if he was consistent. I agree that Whittaker is past it, I thought he would stroll it at this level but he just isn`t good enough unfortunately. Mayo is ok but has not been a stand out. Henderson however is a class act and probably plays far too many intelligent passes for this level. He will go onto better things.

I really like O`Hara and feel he has shown what he can do with a run of games. He was quiet today but has been our best striker in the last 6/7 games. Wighton is decent but like O`Hara can be inconsistent. Unfortunately it seems if one is poor then so is the other. You never seem to have one playing brilliant when the other is quiet.

We do have the makings of a good squad. As I`ve stated earlier, we need a good manager to get the best out of them. Another season of Crawford will be unbearable. A club legend yes but one of the worst managers I`ve seen at East End.

Just have to suck it up but over the two legs Rovers deserved to win

1st half of first leg we were the better team,2nd half pretty even.Today again the better team in the the first half but second half Rovers were the better team and ultimately scored the goals that matter

Creating chances means diddly squat if you dont take them and Rovers showed how to tough it out

As much as i,d like to see the Rovers stay in the championship which I think they will I,d like to see them beat Dundee

Really disappointing to lose a tie that we were the better team in during the vast majority of both legs.

My concern before was if we went behind psychologically that would be hard having been much the better team on Tuesday and in the first half and so it proved.

I am not sure OFW could do to much more with the shot, it was well hit and heading towards the corner and all he could do was get his finger tips to it. Sods law that it drops at Vaughan`s feet and he even has time to miscontrol it and bundle it in - thought he might have also been offside as well but apparently Thomas might have been playing him on. There was also a very dubious offside against Wighton first half after O`Hara flicked him clean through. Matthews could possibly have been sent off, but I`d have been surprised if he was. I am not blaming the officials here, they were fine, but in such a tight contest you need something to go for you.

At the other end, Macdonald didn`t look convincing at all, nearly letting in a tame shot from O`Hara in the first half, he also flapped at a O`Hara shot near the byeline in the second half and was lucky it went out for a corner.

Tactically it is a bit unfair to have a go at Crawford over the course of these games when we were well on top. Mayo in midfield worked pretty well, we did seem to change tactics somewhat and were happier for them to play meaningless passes around at the back - but we were still the more dangerous team and Raith offered nothing until nicking a goal. We`d have gone through with a bit more quality and composure in the final third.

Over the course of the season and looking back at his time in charge is Crawford the man to put together a team capable of winning this division? Probably not, I think it is time for a change.

Crawford,s naivety over the past couple of seasons is plain to see, he didn,t cut it at East fife and has failed miserably here , as for his assistant?? what his input is is baffling as was his appointment.

Why have a direct dig at Dair?

Nobody truly knows his input as he’s out the spotlight so unless you categorically know his involvement and decisions he’s specifically made then I don’t think you can judge in the slightest.

Exactly Berry. Probably judging based on whether he was liked from his playing days or not. I noticed no dig at Shields. Possibly for the same reason.

I would think that Shields has been influential in the development of Comrie, Edwards and Mcdonald!

totally spot on and also cause of where he was before he joined us, the posters opinion had always been about 2 not 3 of the management team and never replies why it's craw and dair, and why shields gets no mention.

Can't judge the coaches as no-one knows the score there. Sadly, coaches usually go with the manager as few managers want to use the existing coaches.
