I think he'll be successful elsewhere but perhaps in a different role. He's clearly respected by the squad and has an eye for a good prospect.

It was like a having a girlfriend that you love but just did not get on with lol! - I would have been happy to see him given next year however.

I just hope we look hard for the next manager with input from the Investors, I really hope it is not Petrie (nothing against him)

I agree thank you Stevie for the memories. In all honesty I thought that you would have spent next year with us but its not to be.

He stabilised the ship and took us as far as he can, he`s improved his reputation given how it went at east fife.

Just sitting here drenched in my own negativity!

All the best Stevie

I think he should have had more time, I`m sure he`s learnt a lot, the same as we all do in our jobs.

All the very best in your future endeavours and hope all the vitriol that is shown by certain supporters on social media hasn’t soured your view of the club.

Good luck to him in the future. Tried his hardest and made some progress in a few areas. Listening to his interview after the playoffs was clear he needed a break to process such a tough year.

Hear, hear! Sad it didn't work out for him as he/we would have liked. I think there are some similarities with John Potter - both very good coaches who found the move to manager very tough.

I hope he gets back into the game very soon.

He worked hard for the club, took over when we were a poor side and improved us. He has achieved the goals set for him this season. You can't argue with that.

Good luck to him.

Leaves as a club legend, might be the end of his management career with Dunfermline but it certainly won't be the end of his involvement with football.

Except in the small matter of league position - and our first cup quarter final for a good few years.

I love it when we go sell Kevin Nisbet,
He's gonna pay for everyone this season.

Thanks Stevie, not many have played for and managed the club full time. Excellent return as a player, not too bad return as a manager, he has his place in club history now. Good luck for the future.

I just hope Crawford finds a job at a club where the fans are behind him and don’t throw him to the kerb the moment something goes wrong.

I wanted him out, it wasn`t working. So, I think this is a good step in the right direction.

But I have always maintained my love for him. I saw him out for a jog not long ago and I think I actively swooned!

So with my one and only face, thank you to the Craw! Hope he finds a decent gig and stays in the game.

I was hoping he’d move on but still felt for him when I heard the news. If anything he cared too much. Alloa would be a brilliant fit for him and they’ve a great record of giving managers a platform.

Nope, he's a club legend in my eyes but wasn't upto it as manager, what was always evident though, and even more so after his recent courier interview, is that he gave 100% throughout his time and he evidently has a fondness for the club.

You can thank someone for there efforts, especially when they've put in as much as a legend like Crawford, while likewise acknowledging that a parting was for the best.

Just a shame it took him resigning for people to come out and recognise him like that.

Doesn’t make up for the weekly rants at how apparently inept he was.

Exactly Grant. Some of the stuff on here was over the top, but a large amount of posters quite eloquently explained their thoughts as to why he wasn’t the right man for the role any more. You can actually like someone but not think them the right fit for a job anymore, and still wish them the very best when they leave.

From the papers he stated he was “burnt out” Maybe the expectations and pressures were too high to continually perform. When that impacts on your health it’s time to go. All you can do is give your best, for that we thank you. All the best.
