 Kyle Turner
Topic Originator: The Toun Clock

Odd timing due to the announcement RE Crawford, but Kyle Turner has done an interview with the courier saying how disappointed he is with how things ended at Dunfermline. Wonder if we`ve seen the last of Kyle Turner in a Pars shirt. I would have said yes, but with change of management I`m not now so sure.

Although you never know what a new manager can influence, I highly doubt it!

Despite being awarded man of the match by BBC Alba, can't say was sitting watching the game thinking oh we missed him in the last few months

That story is from yesterday meaning the quote was the day before.

As much as I rated Turner, I think people are forgetting the months where he did heehaw. Clearly something went down and he was frozen out. These things happen.

if he had signed a pre contract somewhere else wouldnt it have got out by now given he has nothing to lose?

Did williamson sign a pre contract with partick? Is he contracted with them for next year?

Just sitting here drenched in my own negativity!

PCAs aren`t binding are they? I think they can be broken by either party if they change their minds.

Think Williamson was rumoured to have signed a PCA with Falkirk.

Rumoured to be going to St Mirren. Would make sense, he lives over here and his dad played for the club as well.

"PCAs aren`t binding are they? I think they can be broken by either party if they change their minds."

A contract that can be broken by either party ?

Not really a contract then surely ?

It`s an agreement to sign a contract though isn`t it, not a contract itself. I`m sure there was a case a few years ago of a contract not being signed involving Richard Brittain who changed his mind about joining St Johnstone from Ross County.

Ideally, any pre-contract agreement signed by both parties should specify which parts of it, if any, will have legal effect when it is signed. As with all legal documents it depends upon the words, so without seeing a document it is impossible to know whether legally-binding obligations have been established. I imagine each club will have its own standard document, which can be changed by agreement with the player's legal adviser.
My understanding of a PCA is that it is an intention to sign a contract, and may include provisions which both parties agree should have legal effect, eg confidentiality. Other provisions might be "agreed" (eg pay, bonuses, duration etc) which could be difficult, morally and in practice, to change once the actual contract is being negotiated - but whether or not they are legally binding would be dependent on the words in the document.

You can only speculate. Like FEB if he has decided to move on he has done it a season too early in my view.

I thought he had signed for Airdrie? It was a loan until end of season and they had a signed him for next season on a pre-season contract?

"Pre contract agreement"

Thanks for clarification - pre and agreement being the operative words.
