6 mins in and struggling to stay awake. Can’t see many goals or excitement. Saints to sneak a win ?

You`ve got to hand it to Shaun Rooney, the way his career has developed since he left us.

Nah its cause cameras are on the North stand side.

Hibs not getting in behind the Saints defence at all, Saints controlling middle of the field imho. Irvines chance could come back to haunt Hibs

To think that Ryan Williamson kept both Rooney and Millen out the team. Both now play in the SPL and Williamson struggled to get a game with Partick in league one! Really chuffed for Rooney that he has kicked on and think he was unlucky not to get a Scotland call up. Based on form in the SPL, he is miles ahead of O`Donnell this season.

Yeh just goes to show just cause a player doesn't hit the highs at one club doesn't mean he will not make it at another club, especially when they are younger. Just needs the rite fit to bring on the player. Rooney was definitely raw during his time at East End.

Calum Davidson seems to have something as a manager.
Would be an amazing feat for the club to be double cup winners

Agreed PARS207. John Robertson deserves a lot of credit for taking him to a new level at Inverness. I think he`ll be a massive loss for Caley next season as he has brought in a lot of players who didn`t make the grade at their last clubs and improved them. Their squad is stripped almost every season yet he still had them challenging for the playoffs.

Exactly, though he does set his team up defensively which would never be accepted by Dunfermline fans going by the criticism on here on our recent tactics and set up.

That was a prime example of a team not turning up for the big occasion by Hibs yet again.

They could played till middle of next week and not troubled Saints. Really couldn't see how they were gonna score.

Just shows you can be successful setting up defensively!!

People have gone on about if fans had been at eep this year with Crawford, can't think the hibs fans be pleased or happy with Jack Ross !!

Saints executed their game plan perfectly.
As much as I like Kevin Nisbet, to choose him ahead of a proven goalscorer at international level like Griffiths, is baffling

These St Johnstone players and their manager have passed into legend at their club. Their cup exploits will be remembered and feted for as long as their team exists. This is a really remarkable feat for a provincial club and I’m very pleased for them and all their fans. There’s hope for all of us.

Cracking double save from penalty by the hibs keeper. Apart from that and the goal it has been a poor game.
Well done to St Johnstone! That set of players will forever be legends at the club and some achievement in this day and age.

"Exactly, though he does set his team up defensively which would never be accepted by Dunfermline fans going by the criticism on here on our recent tactics and set up."

Have to say, I disagree with that PARS207. Davidson was someone who many (including myself) would have loved to see become the manager when he was in our coaching staff. He admitted he tried to play a certain way when he first become St Johnstone manager but realised he was best playing to the clubs strengths and playing his players in their correct positions (something we haven`t done this season). As we can all see it has paid off massively. I personally would not care how we played if we got promoted. Attractive football is a bonus but getting to the SPL is the priority, not how we play.

Don’t agree with that personally. Griffiths is a waste of space, had a whole season to get fit & still struggled. Nisbet is young & hungry and has a point to prove, he’s also more of an all round forward. He can hold the ball up, is half decent in the air, works very hard putting pressure on centre backs. Everything a Scotland no.9 needs as 9 times out of 10 he’ll be isolated up there. Today was just a poor game from him, but he had literally zero service.

We’ve nothing to lose this tournament, just happy to be there and a good opportunity to give some of these players the best experience you can get and hopefully after the taste of this competition will help in the longer term.

St Johnstone were comfortably the better side and it was a very well deserved win for them. What was most striking was how they controlled the game with a one goal lead to the point where they didn`t really look in danger at all. I don`t watch much football that doesn`t involve the Pars, so it was quite a noticeable contrast between St Johnstone today and how our team has looked with a a lead, going back quite a number of games. It wasn`t an especially exciting game, but it was interesting to watch from that perspective, watching a team see out a game with minimal fuss.
