 Killie v Dundee tonight
Topic Originator: Stanza
Date:   Mon 24 May 13:52

Final match of the season this evening, and the outcome will have a big impact on the Pars` prospects for next season.

Whichever team is in the Championship next season will probably start as favourites for the title.

The match is only on Sky Sports, so not available on PPV from Killie TV in the UK or Ireland. (Booooo ....)

Should be a good game, Dundee certainly were better in the 1st leg and arguably could've killed the tie. Killie though have shown a lot of resilience for years to stay in the top flight, and Lafferty will always be a threat for that sort of game.

Not too sure which team I'd like in the championship next season, Killie seem to have a fairly old team and they'd probably have to offload some of the higher earners, but would still obviously be a threat. Dundee have built a strong side that have come onto form at the end of the season with Charlie Adam playing on a different level from everyone else on the park.

I think Dundee will win tonight, they have good attacking players and with the aggregate win already, Killie will need to come out and attack. I can see Dundee catching them on the break. They`ll need to keep Lafferty obviously. I also think Dundee`s pitch is mince, they seemed to enjoy playing on plastic at Raith and QoS so that might suit them better.

1-2 Dundee on the night with Killie minus Lafferty coming down to join us.

I feel Dundee have what it takes and showed a positive attitude and attacking games in the play Offs. Feel killies lucks gonna run out.
I they come down they get that parachute payment which is utter bollock and shouldn't be allowed.

Sky just listed him as out of contract, who knows what the new management will want, like the rest of the killie team the other night I was very disappointed with his performance in the 1st leg

Not too dissimilar from the soft 3rd goal we conceeded at Dens'.

Well a shakey start to the season and Dundee fans wanting McPake out. This Dundee team are well deserving of promotion. Pretty sure it's over but Dundee have imploded before against us.

They had absolutely zero pace through the middle of the team early doors this season between defence and midfield (Ashcroft, Jordan Foster, Dorrans and Adam) all playing in the same team.

To be fair he has done well with signings; shipped out Dorrans and Foster and brought in Fontaine who looks good alongside Ashcroft and moved the lad McGhee into centre midfield where he looks decent.

Nice wee jaunt down to North Ayrshire next year. Looking forward to that. Who said the Premier teams were far superior to the championship. Looks to me like Raith could have taken them too, like we did in the league Cup.

Not over yet, we were 2-0 up early against Dundee and ended up losing.

It happens and with Lafferty up front...need to really score this half.

Dundee are bossing the game. Playing through the lines very effectively. Killie have no answer. It would take a major collapse by Dundee to lose this now

Burke at 38 is their best player. A major rebuild required next season. For that reason, I’d rather have Killie in the league

I thought away goals didn`t count double in the Scottish play offs - Don`t they just need two to take it to Extra time and possibly penalties?

Will certainly be a major rebuild as 22 of their squad are out of contract at the end of this month, including Kiltie who did well here when he was on loan.

I`m quite pleased to see Kilmarnock come down. I`ve no real dislike of them, but it`s good to have some rotation and they`ve spent a huge length of time in the top league. For the same reason, it would be good to see Motherwell or Aberdeen in the same position next year.

McPake has done well to turn it round for Dundee. When we played them in December, it was after they`d struggled a bit at the start. I wasn`t sure he`d survive after losing a 3-goal lead that day.

We also need a full Public Inquiry into why Lee Ashcroft was allowed to leave.

He wasn't allowed to leave. He refused at least one contract offer. As I remember there weren't to many of us that bothered after we signed Watson and after the first few games it looked like we had our own centre half who knew were the net was.

Ashcroft needs a good partner to cover his aarse. Dundee have one in Fontaine

The one who’s come on the most since leaving us is Shaun Byrne - he was superb in both games - really pleased for him as he’s a fantastic guy as well.

not sure but the lad Mullen looks a better lone striker than Cummings imho.
