Wouldn’t mind if he came here to be honest. Not my number 1 preference but he’s a good manager. I think people are a bit snobby when it comes to Hughes purely based on the way he speaks.

It might not be a popular opinion but I`d love to see Hughes at the club. He aims to play attractive football and has a lot of success in Scotland (minus Raith). He finished 3rd with Inverness and won a cup with them which is something I`m sure even the most optimistic Inverness fan never saw coming. He also saved Ross County from relegation just there which seemed a sure thing before he got the job.

It all went a bit t!ts up at the San Starko because he committed the cardinal sin of criticising the players in public. Had he told them a few home truths in the privacy of the dressing room, Rovers might not have lost the play off to Brechin. Remember his rant came after a 5-0 loss to fellow relegation strugglers, St Mirren. I think what angered him was the lack of professionalism shown by some of his squad, not just in that game, but in training as well.

I think he was a bit unlucky to have a group of players who believed they were better footballers than they actually were and behaved accordingly, but he was also very unwise to lambast them in public as he did. He will have learned from that and as Ross says, his record apart from Rovers is pretty decent. I think we could do a lot worse.

I do a bit of coaching and you protect the players at all costs but at the same time they deserve to know they weren't good enough. A bit of misjudgement but everyone makes mistakes.

Would much rather a bit of passion rather than the weekly boring interview saying the same thing. This isn't a dig at Crawford but you could read numerous managers interviews and most have the same wording depending on the previous result.

Hughes openly came out and said his football at County wouldn't be pretty but will do what it needs which is save the club from the drop. At least the fans knew what to expect.

I`d be quite happy to have him.

His teams play good football and he is a successful, experienced manager - qualities that have been used to bash Crawford with, by some.

I can understand that rant. I can imagine he had tried various things to get a reaction from his players and this was a last resort? I don`t doubt that pretty much everything he said was true?

Not sure where those players are now and whether, on reflection, they took that on board and became better players for it?

I’d like to see him at East End.

I remember hearing him on the radio when he was manager at Falkirk and we were in Europe - he was laughing that the postman was struggling with the number of postcards he was receiving from Dunfermline fans.

His record is very good. Got Falkirk promoted, kept them up for 4 seasons & got them to a cup final. 3rd place & 2 cup finals with Inverness.. manager of the year award aswell.

I’d absolutely take him.

5 manager's jobs vacant. Alloa, Dumbarton, Ross count, Dunfermline and the one I am concerned John Hughes will go for Inverness Caley. Previous experience there and won scottish cup with them.

Not 100% but Pretty sure he stays this side (Lothian)of the water near Edinburgh. So hopefully that would be a positive for us.

Yogi stays in Leith so travel would not be a problem. He might not come across as the most articulate but as previously mentioned his track record is pretty good. The other thing about Yogi is that he gives you a true assessment of games in post match interviews, just like John Robertson. Think this could be a good appointment.

On Radio Scotland Ian McCall, who seems to know Yogi quite well, says he was surprised to hear he had left Ross Co. He said he wouldn`t be surprised if he had a job lined up and he thought the most attractive one available at the moment would be the Pars` job. He thought that was a bigger job than the Ross Co one, even though they are in the Premiership. He`d been trying to contact Yogi to see what his plans were but hadn`t been able to get him.

Disappointing. Was getting quite excited at the prospect of getting him. If it is Dundee Utd, that is the perfect manager for Shankland. I think I`ll stick some money on him being each way top scorer next season if Yogi arrives there.

Meanwhile Yogi is "considering an offer".

Is he translating the German script?

Used to baulk at the thought of Hughes as our manager and confidently predicted he would get Ross County relegated...............

I am beginning to warm to the idea now and think he maybe exactly what we need.

Hughes and Petrie together would be ideal. Dream team. Wont happen obviously but I would be quite happy with one of them.

As it stands the people I want to get the job are as follows Yogi, Petrie, German manager, Levein.

No danger that Petrie will be Yogi`s assistant. Difficult enough for him to walk away from his post as Montrose manager and his out of football job to become our manager, never mind an assistant.
