Whether he was good enough or not is irrelevant really, some of the abuse he got was absolutely abysmal.
He was offered a contract as well and declined it because he’d had enough of us and to be honest can’t blame him.

I don`t think for a minute he left because of the abuse the fans gave him. The fans were desperate for him to kick on but sadly he never did. Ryan was a very exciting player going forward but was an absolutely bombscare at defending. Being young when he broke into the first team you would have though he`d improve but he never got any better and sadly defenders began to suss him out when he`d run at them. With the right coaching he could well improve but he has went backwards since leaving Dunfermline. What surprises me is that two players who he kept out of the team - Rooney and Millen played first team football for SPL clubs last season. I would argue that Rooney actually deserves a Scotland call up with how much he has improved.
If you think the Dunfermline fans are bad for abuse, wait until the Falkirk fans start when he makes a few errors.

It’s not a matter of tit for tat with Falkirk, Williamson left because of the abuse he was getting from fans at the time, this is a true story and why he didn’t bother renewing his contract with us.
There were good times with him, fans were on board and spurring him on but in true style the moment things go bad he’s the scapegoat and hounded out the door.

Ryan was brilliant up to his horrific injuries. Then he never really kicked on.
Mind the time Ashcroft I think gave him dogs abuse on the park and imo it was poor from Ashcroft.
Irrespective who he is at he played both good and bad with us but I agree the pellets he started to get were poor

Apart from an incident with one fan and his family did he really receive worse abuse than any other player? I didn`t see that at the games I was at. What I remember from that season was Ashcroft having a go at him on the park in one game, I forget which, he didn`t seem to respond well to that and performed poorly after that.

He certainly wasn’t the finished article, he was a player that would run at defenders down the wing, had some pace on him, made it into the national set up, bags of potential.
Equally he could have tightened up a little defensively, and his delivery when he gets in a position to cross was hit and miss, but at the age he was at, we could’ve continued to work with him on that easily enough.
Agree regarding the injury, I recall the game, was sitting near his father at the time it happened and it was a real shame as the game was wrapped up and he didn’t need to go for the ball.
Remember the bus trip home was dampened, didn’t feel like we’d left with a W.

`Altho Falkirk have some shiiittty fans they rarely abuse there own players`
Trust me, they do. I have plenty of Falkirk fans at my work who would argue that they are more negative than us about players. Was there not that whole thing about one of their players being racially abused by their own fans when they were in the championship?
This whole thing about our fans being the only fans who give players abuse is a myth. Almost every club at our level and above do it. The possible reason fans got so frustrated with Williamson is because he was capable of so much better - that`s probably why Ashcroft lost it with him that week as well. When he scored his first ever professional goal against Dumbarton it was one of the loudest cheers I`ve heard at East End, as the fans were delighted for him.
Did he get offered a new contract Berry? I thought the club let him go. We managed to replace him with a much better all round right back in Comrie. He is probably the only player in the team at the moment I am convinced will step up the SPL without any issues.

Yes let’s rewrite history that williamson would have been a world beater if the nasty fans didn’t get on his back. The lad was 21 and still playing like every game was his first ever start, thrown in, in the deep end and petrified. Not every player makes it.
It’s a shame he had 2 horrific injuries which probably contributed to him lacking any sort of aggression what so ever which made him a rank rotten defender and afraid to make a tackle when pushing forward. It was like when you were playing 7’s and a player short so someone’s timid 12 year old brother rocks up.
When he got to the goal line and crossed it he never once looked, hit and hope stuff and didn’t have the technique to get it high enough to beat the first man 9 out of 10 times. We were able to carry him in the seaside league as we were overpowering teams all over the park but as we improved and moved back to the championship some limited players were not up to it. He got plenty chances than any once else to step up.
Still the fact he’s still full time means he must have improved to an extent.
This of course is my opinion and based on what I saw on the park. Partick didn’t fancy taking him up a level either....

Berry, I`ve seen a few posters in the last few years saying Dunfermline fans are the worst for abuse. Maybe not yourself but others have said so and it`s ridiculous. Granted, some do go over the top but I don`t think it has ever caused a player to move but that`s only my opinion!

not everyone buys season tickets straight
the 10 days after Crawford stepped away was lost time when comes to transfers, so PG really started behind everyone else at end of the day.
Folk moaning on social media moaning about no signings compared to others but laugh at the players they are signing, imagine the abuse they would get signing just any player! They will sign players when the right player decides to come to us, not just sign players for the sake of saying oh look we done all our business early .

Just thinking, we went from Morris and M’Voto to Durnan and Devine, talk about a complete drop down in levels. Even at that league 1 level, I think it’ll be an awful signing for Alloa.

Not a terrible signing to be fair l but for me it's what Billy Dodds they get, the buffoon, the pundit or the once promising manager.

Significant signals of intent from ICT.
But think they still have Danny Devine at centre back, so that’s a 20 point penalty they have to overcome.

McKay and Gardyne in my opinion are only signing for Inverness as they don’t want to up sticks and move.
They will probably sign for Cove after their current deals expire.

Not by signing Gardyne, McKay and Doku they aren’t I would say. They’re three players I would have welcomed here to improve on what we have, although really happy with Todorov and gives us a decent balance up front now.

Doku, before we signed Todorov, would have given us something different up front compared to what we have. A physical presence compared to our other types of striker.

Not a bad idea if they go straight back up, But Killie have flirted with bankruptcy through out the last 10 years, that was on premiership money, if they don't go straight back up it might tip them over the edge

There is no Famagusta.
There are two teams in Cyprus who were previously based in Famagusta.
Nea Salamis and Anorthosis. Both teams play in Larnaca.
If he has signed for either of these teams it's likely to be Anorthosis as they are the bigger club.

He hardly played to be fair. Remember he came off the bench made some good runs with the ball then never got the ball for the rest of the game. Although strange to see him getting a move like this although I'll believe it when it's confirmed.

there has always been a few Scottish boys that will go join the reserve/under 23 teams down south but with the Brexit rules, those clubs will be looking up here even more than before and the players will go instead of dropping down a division up here.
