Number 15 is Ally Oman (not sure if that’s how you spell it) according to the announcer

Confirmed trialists are;

Isaac Rice

Ali Oman (a defender apparently, although can't seem to find much info on him)

Fraser Currid (GK) was at Alloa last season

Ben Paton - Canadian Centre midfielder/winger formerly of Blackburn Rovers

Ally Taylor - brother of Greg, young Centre midfielder who was released by Kilmarnock

It's Ali Omar not Oman as stated on the team sheet. Young English defender who was previously playing for Barnsley

Who has now just been sent off for hauling down the Spartans striker as the last man...

Kevin O'hara scores for us though, 1-0 Pars

Not much experience between any of those triallist. From what I've seen U23 football in England isn't really that great a level. These guys are just 20 / 21 so they might find a gem in there. Ally Taylor is represented by Concillium, Jackie McNamaras company.

The Number 11 Paton played well
Rice at the back was solid enough

I thought Paul Allan had a very good game playing just in front of the back four

Decent run out, good number of 90mins for some of the lads, pleasing to see lots of rotation and movement off the ball.

Started off 3-4-3 which obviously changed when went down to 10 men so Todorov up front with O`Hara and McCann floating behind him so was like a 4-2-2-1 with 10 men.

Paul Allan again impressed on and off the ball, Thomas started in the middle with him but played further forward later in 2nd half.

O`Hara did some amount of work, Rice looked assured, maybe isnt the biggest but won his battles and looked good on the ball, alongside him was Kyle Macdonald who did very well throughout i thought.

The red card was a dogso but officials should surely be saying to the teams before the game, its a pre season friendly am only gonna issue red card for something like violent conduct or a really bad challenger, just book the lad and get on with the game or book him and ask the manager to take him off for someone else.

^ I think this is a pretty accurate summary.

I would just add a couple of things.

Not convinced by Dom Thomas in the centre of midfield - too prone to losing the ball by trying a trick to beat his man. Better teams will punish this, but perhaps tonight it was a case of needs must.

Paton looked like he would be happy to stay in the centre circle and spray passes about all day - that`s not to say he didn`t get forward, and he had a couple of digs at goal - his left looks better than his right.

I like the look of McCann when I`ve seen him play for the under 20s - but it`s never quite clear what his role is meant to be when he plays for the first team. Having to play half the half with 10 men won`t have helped.

O`Hara took his goal very well, and showed a nice turn of pace to win the pen.

No sign of Watson, Wilson, Gaspuitis or Wighton.

And it was great to be back, even if I did get soaked sitting under cover in the middle of June...

Interesting to read Grant's comments afterwards. A decision on isaac rice to be expected in the next couple days. Hopes to have 5 or 6 new players in the next couple of weeks. A lot of English contracts expire at the end of June so perhaps we're waiting on confirmation of those too.

id guess Rice will be offered a deal, watched a couple of youtube videos of Paton after the game and looking at those and how we tried to play last night you could see why they are giving him a trial. agree with PG on letting all of them know in the next day or so, its fair on the players but also we need to look at others.

Would agree on Rice, my guess is he will be offered something, whether it's good enough for him is another matter.

Paton looks promising, although in addition to the game last night it's always difficult to judge U23 football in England and whether that will translate up here. He seems to have an eye for a pass and looks to play balls forward which is something we lacked last season.

No doubt they will be talking to other players that won't play as trialists given they're already fairly known quantities. Can't say the players currently available in scotland for the positions we need are that inspiring but it seems they are taking their time on the transfer front to make sure they bring in the right people.

The new Squad will contain youngsters we can develop and sell on. That is the business model and how the new owners will see a return. Hopefully we get the mix right with enough good experienced guys to push for promotion too.

If we sign him and Ally Taylor, that'll be 4 players in the squad with footballing siblings with Todorov and McCann
