 Euros KO Fixtures

I know that for many people the Euros will not have the same appeal now that Scotland are out, but there are some cracking games in prospect over the next couple of weeks. Here are the dates and times:-

https://www.uefa.com/uefaeuro-2020/news/0254-0d41684d1216-06773df7faed-1000--euro-2020-fixtures-and-results/

I think England will be especially pleased at how the draw has worked out. If they can squeeze past Germany at Wembley on Tuesday, they don`t have an overly difficult route to the final itself as Belgium, France, Italy and Spain are all in the other half.

With the semi-final and final itself also at Wembley, football could be coming home again, after all....

I can’t believe how lop sided the draw is. Apart from Germany, all the top sides are on the other side of the draw!

A wee bet on the Germans makes sense

A wee bet on the English would probably make more sense. They have the better players but do they have the mentality?
So England will get either Sweden or Ukraine in the quarter final and then at best, from our point of view, the Dutch in the semis?

Hopefully Wales, France or England win it, but I can't see past Italy

Think France still have another level they can move up to and have at times shown glimpses of it.

If England can`t beat a diddy team like Scotland, then what chance do they have ?

If I had to choose a side to put England out (Scotland aside) it would be Germany so fingers crossed.

Tbf, if Spain had topped their group as expected, you'd have had a more even split. A relative of mine said before Italy played Wales that they'd have been better letting the Welsh win that game and go into the "easy" half of the draw. If they win it now, they'll thoroughly deserve it. Potentially Austria, Belgium and France before the final.

I can't see past the French myself. I don't think they've been out of 2nd gear yet.

Pogba seems to be much more effective when playing for France rather than Manchester United and Griezmann is very difficult to pick up. Mbappe has a lot more to give I think. France are probably going to have to get past Belgium or Italy just to get to the final though.

The `sudden death` aspect of the knockout stages always adds drama and VAR will just compound that. It`s a great starter for the main course of the new domestic season!

Well, we ruled them out in 2016, when they just squeezed through their qualifying group, Berry, so we've obviously learned our lesson.

Lightning can't strike twice, can it? 🙂
