 Captain

Perhaps a bit early to talk about this with new signings still to come, but with Euan Murray gone a new captain will need to be appointed. Very curious to see what PG will go for.

Will Ryan Dow keep his spot as Vice Captain or move up to Captain?

Lewis Martin is the longest serving player.

Obviously these two have injury issues and this will obviously play a role in the decision.

Owain Fon Williams is one of the more experienced players but it seems that he is not guaranteed to be no. 1.

Looking through the current crop of players, there is one that stands out to me a bit. Could Aaron Comrie be a good fit? On the young side, yes, but I don`t think anyone can argue against the levels of consistency and professionalism that he shows. Callum Fordyce was 23 when he was named Captain, so I don`t think its outwith the realms of possibility...

Agree, Watson looks most likely.

I believe Aaron Comrie, Dom Thomas, Lewis Martin, Paul Watson and Ryan Dow are the leadership group.

Andy Graham (centre back) was Peter Grant`s captain at Alloa Athletic. I can understand him going down a similar route with his most experienced defender, Paul Watson as his captain.

If I'm correct Celtic used to have a club captain and a team captain. The club captain was not a regular first team player but the team captain was.

Seems to be a bit of a Lewis Martin fan club at the moment, Lewis was a very handy utility player, really comfortable on both feet therefore he was capable of covering a variety of roles, he was never a Man of the Match material. Not sure where this love-in is coming from. It`ll be good cover if he can get back to his previous levels and I really hope he can because he`s had such bad luck but he`s a James Craigen type for me.

Dom Thomas was captain against Hibs.

I don`t think age is a major factor in choosing a captain, it`s leadership ability and you either have it or you don`t. Simple as that.

Then, all you have to decide is who is the best of the leaders for this particular group.

I have a feeling that Dave McNicoll was only 18 when he was made Pars captain.
