It’s a free hit. Go out play the same way and have a go, rangers will be giving opportunity to players I would think this early on in this competition.
Added to that a share of the gate from around 35/40k depending on restrictions is good money for the club. This is the tie the chairman would have wanted as well as new owners.
Players and manager will be well up for it, and both Saints shocked them last season so you never know.

Let’s just say we’ll be rank outsiders - then again, name any Scottish team who would currently go there as favourites. I look on it as a no lose game - if we lose then it will surprise no one. Anything beyond that would be a delightfully unlikely outcome. In addition, we can maybe make a bit more money there than elsewhere. It’s a free hit and I hope we approach it as such. COYP

Get this league cup nonsense away tae feck. There’s no money in it. It’s just a distraction to a team who aspires to achieve promotion. We don’t have a big enough or strong enough squad to compete properly in a league and 3 cup competitions. Cup competitions that we realistically don’t have a chance of winning. Time to get out this league and then try to emulate teams like st Johnstone.

Last time I went to Ibrox for a Pars game, Gerry Britton was still playing for us. Bovril, pies, spit and god knows what descending on us from above. Rangers player scythed Gerry down, no action. Gerry was obviously riled up and charged after the ball, dived in but missed the ball and the man by at least a yard. Ref gave a foul and booked Gerry. At which point I lost it and had to be taken out of the ground by my mates before Glasgow`s finest did it for them. Horrible place, horrible people, never going to give them any money ever again.

I'm no super optimist myself, but if the players think they'll get beat before the game starts, they definitely will. If they believe they can win, we have a chance, however small. The Pars won at Parkhead, when they were relegated and Celtic were champions. ICT, did the same at Ibrox.
I just hope our players come off the pitch with heads held high, whatever the result, having dove tneir level best for 90 mins - or even 120. 🙂

Of course it wouldn't be the same. I think the players will be excited to test themselves against the current Champions. It doesn't change the fact that anything other than a Rangers win would be a huge huge shock and as supporters we should be hoping for a good performance but also be prepared for the potential of a bit of a tanking.
And when we get priced up at 25/1 it doesn't represent a good value bet before anyone asks 🙈

It’s a no for me too.
I remember the bears getting very restless at the Rab Stewart game and there was a horrible atmosphere brewing. My mate was concerned and said to me “ if we win we will get our heads kicked in “
I told him “ I hope we get our heads kicked in then “. Of course we didn’t as Mcadam and a fluke Mcoist goal saved our precious heads unfortunately.
Have been back once, can’t even remember much about the game. It was around 2001/2 and I think we lost 4-0.
Will never set foot in that place again.

I was at that game also. The rangers fans were actually punching the hell out of each other, near where we were sitting.Actually,it was quite scary, but we were never threatened. That result,if it had gone our way, would have over shadowed Berwick.
