Well 1st league game is just over 48 hours away.
What do we expect for team line up then?
Fonners or Deniz in goal?
Either of the new signings this week to start ?
Still 3 up front with Wigs and Kev floating behind Nikolay ?
Watson to come straight back in if fit ?

The good thing is we now have so many options to start with.
The first game of the season no matter who you are playing is always tough as you would expect both teams to be ready and up for it.
I'm reluctant to join the camp and say it's a guaranteed 3 points

Think the lineup above will be right. Too early for Dorrans as he’s behind a little on fitness and bringing Kai on against tired legs might be a shrewd move.
We’ll get chances, just need to make sure we take them.

At Championship level, and in particular in away games against the likes of Morton, I worry about a two man midfield of Thomas and Cole. It lacks any real physical presence.
I’m not sure the current 3-4-3 is sustainable and I’m not sure PG does either given the signings of Dorrans, Kennedy and possibly another winger. Neither of these really fit into that formation.
Not meant as a negative post as I’ve thoroughly enjoyed our games so far.

Reading PG`s pre-match comments on COWS, he obviously sees Dorrans as a key man so will probably find a place for him if he thinks he`s match-fit. It seems that Dorrans had a few options to consider after he spoke to us but thought we were the best fit at this stage in his career. Maybe the two-year deal swung it.
It was interesting to hear that Breen is a left-sided CB so he is likely to be in direct competition with Ross Graham for a place in the team.

they all fit into that formation, Dorrans in the middle of the park, Kennedy and another winger if we are after one in the 3 up front.
Mehmet will start although i wouldnt be shocked if OFW is in goal.
Watson plays if fit with Gaspuitis dropping out.
id go Allan in the middle with Thomas.

I think Comrie is wasted at centre half. Don`t think Breen will be up to speed and Watson might still be injured. If that`s the case, then it`ll most likely be the same team that skelped Stenny, but replace OFW with Mehmet, as Owain has 26cm arms and hands made of popadoms.

25 signed players so 7 will miss out on the match day squad, injuries help in that front so Currid (loan), Martin, Dow, McCann, Wilson, will defo miss out. I also think Fenton and Todd will be the other 2.
Same team as above for me, the only real dilemma is OFW or Mehmet.
Great options off the bench with Breen, Gaspuitis, Dorrans, Kennedy, Pybus and Allan

I expect Dorrans to come in with either Wighton or Todorov dropping to the bench - whatever team he picks we will have good options on the bench which is great to see.

I think we will see Deniz in goals today, then its 3 spots for the middle of back 3, centre mid and if goes with 3 forwards or goes with extra man in midfield.
I wouldn`t be surprised to see Cole start but also wouldn`t be surprised to see Allan starting. At the back Vytas prob starts unless Watson is fully fit, then its how fit is Wighton, if he doesn`t start i think we will see Kai if we play 3 forwards or Dorrans if extra man in midfield.
Big decisions already for PG to make!!!

I think it will be the same team that won last week. The only possible change for me will be the goalkeeper depending on what conversation PG has had with the keepers. He rotated for the cups but it would seem unfair to drop OFW until he has a poor performance as you don`t want to damage any players confidence.

3 4 3 exciting wing back play and dangerous pacey forward line… people want us back to 4 4 2 .. what players would suit that? I presume you would take Dom out of the middle and put back into the wide position? For who?

There's a fine line though... Put to many attacking players on the pitch and you can't build up play or get a grip of the game.

I've followed the pars for a paltry 22 years, in that time I've seen us finish 4tb in the SPL and 7th in the third tier.
This of course doesn't mean a thing, the first half yesterday, and truthfully outwith about 30 minutes from us was rubbish. You don't need to have followed the Pars to know that.

Poor first half, although the last 10 minutes were better. Toddy should have buried his header and at least we did create a couple of other half chances.
Second half was better. I couldn't see them equalising, but you can't legislate for luck sometimes. Even then, we came back and Cole should have won us the points.
Dorrans was the main positive for me. Played the full 90 and got more influential as the game went on. I think he'll be a big asset for us over the course of the season.
All in all then, I guess a point away from home is alright to start - especially when we've only won two league games away from EEP this decade...

Over what period do you judge a team - half an hour? the first half? the first game? the first 9 games? the season? We`d all like to see perfection but a lifetime watching the Pars tells me it`s not going to happen. Games ebb and flow, players misplace passes, miss tackles, mishit shots.
There`s always an expert on here though who`ll tell you after 20 minutes that it`s because the manager has picked the wrong team, chosen the wrong formation, adopted the wrong tactics, etc, etc. I`m surprised they waste their talents on here. You`d think they`d be able to easily make a living from football.

Makes sense that too though. If they were good enough to manage in the EPL, they'd be unlikely to be at the Pars.
It does get hysterical very early - and very regularly - on here though. 20 minutes played and everyone is having a shocker and the manager is clueless.
