….he’d get pelters for being tactically naive. No midfield at all, a crazy shape and a terrible central defence. Graham was totally dominated by Ugwu - not so sure Vytas would have been.

Gaspuitis ain’t a left side centre back. Plus I don’t think he would be any better. It will be Breen that ends up taking Graham’s place.
For me Watson ain’t great in a 3 either.
Midfield was poor although I think Dorrans got better.
Wighton was a waste of a shirt for me

It was a reality check and first game of the season is the best time to have it, you’ll see a much better performance against Partick.

We won our first three League games last season but missed out in the play-offs so how can anyone draw any firm conclusions about how this season`s going to pan out after just one game?

We had 15 shots - that’s considerably more than in any away performance under Crawford

If that was Crawford... The same happy clappers would still be telling us it was a wonderful performance. Doesn't matter who the manager is to those clowns as long as they think the Board are reading their posts. It's a mental illness.

I saw that, AJ27, 5 on target to Morton`s 4, 7 corners to their 5 and we only committed 5 fouls to their 9.
I don`t think Morton are a `bogey team` but their equalising goal was typical of the sort of thing that seems to happen to us at Cappielow.

I don`t think I`ve read one post that said it was a wonderful performance but it wasn`t as bad as some make out. And why would anyone be bothered about the board reading their posts? The reference to mental illness is uncalled for too.

Bertie Paton lost something like his first four out of five league games. Thank goodness the internet wasn't around.

I am disappointed that Stevie`s name has been brought up. It is now all about Peter Grant, so let`s look forward and not backwards.

I agree some on here need to show some respect to SC .He commited himself 100% to the club but it didnt work out .
Think its a pretty cheap shot at a great pars player who has served the club as best he could

Said once Stevie left and also when PG came in that no matter who the manager was it was a total no win situation with some folk on here.
Go defensive to get a result its shocking
Go too attacking and its poor as we are wide open at the back
Go one system that works and suits players, oh has to be a 4-4-2.
Plays 4-4-2 and it's oh that's all boring and predictable
Plays 4-2-3-1 to balance the pitch and try control the play, oh boring one up front

I think that it’s shocking the treatment that Stevie Crawford gets on here at times. The guy gave his all for our club. Give him some slack eh!!

The test with any manager is did they leave the club in a better condition than when they came in. For both SC and AJ the reality is that they did

Don't see the need to have a dig at Crawford, at all.
While his reign didn't go as well as planned it's absolutely undeniable that he put his all into the job and left us in a better position than he found us. No need for derisory comments.

Crawford is irrelevant now, we have a new manager and a new team to support
A draw away from home at Morton is not a bad result and something we can build on, the performance was patchy but you cannot fail to see that we are well equipped to mount a serious challenge this season

I am concerned with our central midfield truth be told, unless we utilise Dan Pybus as a ball winner, or add an extra man in there I worry about us losing the battle in there.
We have some really talented attacking footballers in our side but if they don't have the ball they won't be able to show it.

Indeed, that's why I said "unless", he was used in such a way by QoTS so it wouldn't be a role that was totally alien to him, indeed at one point he had some of the best performing metrics with regards to central midfielders in the championship who were good at pressuring/winning the ball back.
While Pybus views himself as an attacking midfielder I've not seen much from in the past with regards to his passing and use of the ball to say if he'd actually be any good in such a role. He's got a fantastic work rate on him that allows him to get around the pitch quite well, put him next to Dorrans and it could be effective if we're insisting on staying with the 343/523
