Hope St johnstone have a good crowd and make most of it. Best season of the clubs history and no fans seeing them lift two trophies. Good luck to them.
Celtic, well you guys have failed already so anything they do is redundant so dont care

Agree Wetherby!! Would be amazing if they dropped to finish 3rd or 4th. Aberdeen amd hibs been pushing closer each year.
1-3 to celtic but far from convincing stuff. They are gonna get pumped by the ugliest of the sisters this season

As usual with Celtic they have good attacking options but there are question marks over their defence.

4-2 away from home against the team 3rd in the Czech league last season ( just 5 points behind Sparta Prague) that`s a great result.

Very decent performance by St Johnstone. Holding their line well and breaking out with counterattacks surprisingly often.
It is not beyond the realms of possibility that they come away with a result from Turkey tonight, but it can all go wrong very quickly when you are playing in a hostile stadium in Istanbul.

A very fine result indeed for St Johnstone.
Did anyone else notice that the Galatasaray substitute goalie was none other than Clem Fandango?

I`m not sure Kane even got a touch on that `header`. BBC can`t seem to make up their minds if it was Kerr`s or Kane`s goal. I thought it was maybe an o.g. by the goalie.

Great game so far. That St Johnstone team are a proper set of battlers. Some decent, hard working players, Jason Kerr, Chris Kane, Zander Clark decent keeper. That Ali McCann is going to go on to big things, hope his brother can emulate him.
Great atmosphere in the ground too.
To be honest St Johnstone are a club we could aspire to be like

indeed wetherby, lets hope its still a contest deep into the 2nd half !
Saints lucky with the goal maybe, wouldnt been surprised to see it ruled out with keeper being over protected as we normally see.
Gala lucky to not be down to 10 men perhaps? Seen refs give that as a red for dogso

Been switching between the games. At 3-1, the Saints look beaten now.
Have to say that Celtic are playing a magnificent brand of football under Ange. That Japanese striker looks like the new Henrik. So exciting to watch. The whole team seems lifted. Even Rogic, who looked lost last season, seems to have come back to life.
They`ll match and likely outdo Rangers, no worries.

I really liked the look of Galatasary`s back two especially the right sided one (27) , they just had too much quality but much to admire about St J particularly McCann.

Galatasary just had that extra bit of class that wins games but they also know how to overreact to the slightest physical contact to con the ref.

It was unfortunate. The only place Kerr could kick it was out for a corner which was no good for them. He was just trying to flick it away from danger.

Having lived in the Perth district for a fair chunk of my life, I can say that they are a thoroughly nice bunch of folk who are not prone to wild outbursts of emotion... unless, the price of hay or cattle feed has risen a shilling.

I think we`d maybe cut them some slack if we were just off the back of a 1-1 draw in Istanbul and had both domestic cups sitting in our trophy cabinet.

Whilst commending St Johnstone`s organisation and fighting spirit my overall conclusion from watching their two games against Galatasary was that technically their players were far superior to the SJ players. Their first touch, movement, speed of thought and action, awareness etc were in a different league. I know their budget will heavily outweigh SJ`s but Hibs being well-beaten in Croatia, albeit after being reduced to ten men, was another disappointing result. Rangers seemed to underperform against Malmo as well. I find it all quite depressing as it`s been this way for so long and there seem to be no signs of improvement.
It was also disappointing to see how Stevie May`s career has gone since his first spell with SJ. He used to score goals for fun. I remember him scoring a stunner from outside the box at EEP when on loan with Hamilton. I know he suffered a bad injury after moving south but I don`t know if that`s the only reason his career has faltered after such a promising start.

Done ligaments in both his knees now Eck, one majorly and the other slightly less so.
Never been same player since, real shame as he had something about him.

Prior to last night Galatasaray had one win away from home in their last 25 attempts in Europe(3-1 against an Azerbaijani team). Apart from that their last away win in the Champions League was March 2013 and their last away win in the Europa League was 2010. I think sometimes Scottish teams need to have more belief instead of playing with an inferiority complex. That`s not meant to be a dig at St Johnstone who were obviously giving everything for their manager but it demonstrates that Galatasaray aren`t all that strong a team, particularly in European competition terms.
