I remember the UEFA 2000 final between France and Italy, I said to mate that I had told my wife "If France win tonight don't expect me in early" ( auld shank in Ballingry often had lock ins until 4-5am) he replied "I told my wife I won't be in until someone lifts the cup, I hope it goes to a replay.🙂

wonder what the record is for a penalty shoot-out
In a nail-biting finish, the final of the 2005 Namibian Cup had to be settled by a record-breaking 48 penalty kicks, with KK Palace holding their nerve to defeat the Civics 17–16 following a 2–2 draw in normal time. A number of players on each side had to take three spot kicks in the shootout, which lasted almost as long as the game.

That result`s bound to hit the gate on Friday night. They were saying on the radio that Rangers results at home improved a lot when there no fans allowed in.
I had to laugh at Radio Scotland`s coverage tonight. They had 4 ex-Rangers players - Adam, Burke, Foster and Hateley commentating on the game on a TV screen. Needless to say they were all confident of a win for the Bears.

It`s funny how whenever the OF suffer a poor result the expectation is that the next team they play will suffer a `backlash`. When we suffer a poor result the expectation is that our poor form will continue for evermore.

We are a team coming into this game with dire results. They have just lost to Malmö tonight.
If any pars fan thinks we will get a result the way we have been plying then good luck… Gerrard will play his strongest team… I can see a double figure score line…🤷🏻♂️
Surely no sane fan thinks we will do other than make up the numbers on Friday ?

Our league form hasn`t been inspiring but our league Cup form has been above average with an away win against Partick Thistle and a narrow defeat to St. Mirren. Rangers lost to Dundee Utd last week. On a good day we could beat them (Dundee Utd, I mean). It`s not beyond the realms of possibility that we could steal a lucky win but the probability is that we lose but I don`t see it by more than three. I would predict a narrow loss that will give the team a slight confidence boost.

Ach, absolutely not bothered if we lose tbh. Would like to see a change of shape and a differently worked midfield.
To state the obvious, it's the best side in Scotland who haven't lost in Ibrox in a long time, even there reserve players budget will dwarf ours.

Their reserve players budget might dwarf Malmo and Dundee United for that matter. Little good has it done them.
Peter Grant has a chance to put down a marker at Ibrox with his own players. He can turn the waves of hate that will come his way into aggressive play that rattles a Rangers team on the rebound. Put in the big Lithuanian and tell him to hit everything that comes his way, and get some steel in central midfield. If a red card comes our way it might not do any more harm than the one Malmo received tonight.

6/5 for Rangers -2 goals looks very generous.
It's a free hit for us.
Get out of it with a few quid in the bank, hopefully injury free and without taking an absolute doing then onto the important stuff in the league.

On the other hand, wins over part timers Dumbarton and Stenhousemuir at home hardly rate as above average.

So 2 wins is now classed as below average?

Football`s unpredictable but you can always rely on veteraneastender belittling any success we do achieve. I don`t think he`s seen any Pars` team deserving praise since the 1960s. Even then I think there were mitigating circumstances when we beat the European Champions on their home patch in 1968.

EEP perhaps you could record a team talk for PG to show the players before the game?
Your enthusiasm and positivity really shines through and will make a huge difference to the players psyche before running out (to face a team who have now lost three in a row and will be low on confidence themselves)
