Me too - will be a new ground for me too.
Wouldn`t have went to an away game against any of the colts teams.
Knowing us we will beat The Rangers and lose to Elgin haha.

I went to Elgin a few years ago when we played them in the Scottish Cup. That was a long day and it was pouring rain I think. At least it`s not a midweek fixture - 4 September.

What`s the furthest we`ve been in the challenge cup? Without researching it, I don`t think we`ve ever won it and can only remember a couple of last 8 defeats and maybe 1 stint in the semis.
I know it`s the lowest of the lows in cups but a trophy is a trophy and great for the players self esteem.

Went in the Scottish cup. Good day out but absolutely drenched going back to the bus. Stopped in Pitlochry on way back and clothes were still soaked through. Won`t make this one as going to Scotland game on same day.

That Boreham wood trip was quality. The match was one of the worst I’ve ever seen but aye, a good laugh.

Nice club. I remember going up there when Livi were in their division. They handed in a tray of warm pies that hadn`t been sold to the supporters` bus just before it left after the game. Very much appreciated they were too.

I remember a game at Furhill years ago. Near the end of the game pars supporters were handed free pies as we were leaving the ground.

With a lack of a proper pre-season and a whole load of new signings we may be better served playing a strong team to build up some familiarity-it depends on how we perform before then I reckon. The whole spine of the team has changed and it takes time to get to know one another. I think it`s a Saturday fixture too with a week until the following game?

Looking forward to this trip, had the option of Ibrox or Borough.
Wife and daughters are coming up for the the day, plan to have lunch and visit the cathedral, then we will go to the game.

The ones signed at the time, but every club is like that, no one has the squad set and all signed up 1st day of pre season !
And even if clubs do have the majority under contract, not everyone is always fit and plays.
Agree takes time for players to gel etc, but also needs be a balance of making sure any manager gets the rite players in, been great to get Kennedy, Breen etc in weeks earlier but obviously circumstances dictated that couldn't happen. Personally would have waited for those guys than sign say some of the trialists we had here just cause it meant having the squad numbers up 4 or 5 weeks

Got a weekend away already booked and paid for that weekend which is a shame as although been to Elgin before not been to a game there.
Drive up there is great.

We've potentially landed in a shocker of a section. Depending how serious teams take the cups this year.
2nd round Elgin
3rd round Inverness
Quarter Raith
Semis Killie/hamilton
Final partick/ayr
Going to have to do it the hard way if we are going to do it.

A wee cup run would do the team a world of good. Diddy wee daft cup or not. A nice wee trophy would not go amiss.
