 ParsTV users in `England`

The English FA was granted ‘blocked hours’ protection pursuant to UEFA Article 48 which prohibits the transmission of matches within its territory during the period of ‘blocked hours’.

For your information, the ‘blocked hours’ in England are on a Saturday afternoon.

This means that for ParsTV when we detect "ENGLAND" in the geo-blocking software you will likely be barred from purchasing a stream.

Unfortunately this is outwith our control.

Do sky, bt and other providers not show games during blocked hours in England?

Thet lifted the block when people couldn't get to the games but its back now that the restrictions are pretty much gone.

I don’t think in UEFA’s eyes Scotland/ England are considered foreign countries for TV, this is why if a Scottish team makes it to the group stages of the European Cup they get a share of the UK pot.

No they don`t. The English teams get about £15-20 million in TV revenue based on their market share and finishing positions in the League, Scottish clubs get a few million.

Anyway seems strange that it would be allowed to he broadcast in Scotland but not in England.

We appear to be doubly knackered! Not only do we live south of the border but Now TV - our internet provider - does not allow you to use a VPN! So get your finger out, Buffy. We want up-to-the-minute text updates AND we want them to be entertaining. No pressure though …………

The blackout period is Saturdays at 2.45 until 5.15 and is designed to avoid impacting attendances at the 3pm Saturday games. Applies to all live games being broadcast in England irrespective of the host country of broadcast.

It's why the final games of the season are played on a Sunday in England as it means they can televise multiple games.

You can use a VPN with NOW broadband just not with NOW tv. I used one with no issues for the entire time I had their broadband.

The live broadcasting `rules` are a mess.

Can`t listen to the ugly sisters game on BBC radio Scotland for `rights reasons`.

Switch over to BBC Five Live and you can listen to the same game there and with more knowledgeable commentators!

The whole rules are in the dark ages full stop.

Folk who want to go to games will go to games regardless. Likewise folk who want to stick a coupon on and sink a few pints watching the results come in will still do that.

Whether it's watching Soccer Saturday or having games on telly / internet etc at 3pm on a Saturday is not going to impact on walkup attendances IMO.

I haven't had a chance to read them but apparently there are some studies that back that point of view up TAFKA.

The Pars under Peter Grant is like an advert for moving to England.
