If you think Grant will be sacked

… think again.

They took ages over the sacking of AJ.. SC Resigned.

There’s no way the board will sack Grant pre Christmas… as much as it should happen!

I already think it will be hard to make any ground up on any of the top teams if PG is at the helm but Like others I know the board will not sack him even though he should be punted

Absolutely shocking . We would be better with Russell Grant than Peter Grant. I saw an alcoholic in Gloucester today that looked like Peter Grant. Had a bit of banter with him and he was a Celtic fan. He said who is your manager now.
"Peter Grant " l said.
" Your fxxxed " he replied.
Says it all really.

Just go now.

He doesn't need a CV either. What an absolute charlatan of a manager.

Only us could appoint a manager that gets a team relegated from a division we are trying to get promoted from. What's the worst that could happen?

Awight Pat!

So who is more incompetent. The board or Grant? He was hired and the majority of fans were livid with the appointment. God knows what they were thinking brining him in. Two 3-0 pumpings in our first two home games is an embarrassment. Grant needs to go and we need someone else to pick the manager. McArthur has made a mess of it the last three times with decisions involving managers now. He has the clubs best interests at heart but that doesn`t mean he makes the right decisions for the clubs future.

Three managers appointed without an interview process each one of them has been a terrible appointment, let’s face it the BOD has got to accept responsibility for this absolute shambles

Thanks for steering the club through the bad times and finding new investors but it’s now time to depart the scene and let new blood take over

Surely questions need asked about our hiring process? Crawford handed the job no application process. And then they bring this shambles in without even having a CV. Whoever was in charge of hiring needs to have a long hard look at themselves as well.

I said i would give him time.... Hmm I didn`t expect us to be at the foot of the table 11 points off the leaders. It`s not only that it`s the goal difference as well -6. I cannot see any improvement week on week and that`s making me anxious.

If there is no improvement soon then we will have zero chance on making top 4 never mind anything else. Something needs sorted.

Said it before, if you thought he performed well with the resources of a part time club no one was seriously advocating Dick Campbell whose part timers finished above us the season before last and twice finished higher than Alloa.
“Play good football” is such an unconvincing reason for appointing a manager, they don’t hand out trophies or medals for keeping the ball on the deck, this is a results business

Start of the season eh, it`s also the start of the season for the teams that are pumping us. Hiring mistake made, just put your hands up and accept the mistake and move on.

Not a clue who would replace him though.

As others have said, he won`t be sacked. He`ll get to Christmas at least, or he`ll maybe get the bullet if our points total after the first round of games is woefully low, which at the moment seems likely.

Are Arbroath part time? If so that makes today even worse.

Bite the bullet, admit you made a mistake in hiring him. The man is absolutely clueless. Get someone in who is proven or push the boat out to get better (it's worth the money). So frustrating as after stevie left we had the nucleus of a half decent squad that needed a couple of quality additions to push us on. Can't we just be like normal clubs who have a hiring process, interview candidates who have proven qualities rather than going for the cheap options?

I’ll be honest, I’m one that was all for giving him a chance but after today, no b..y way. Absolutely shocking the way we played today. There was no heart, no fight, it was just pure s..e.
From start until I walked out didn’t have a clue how or what formation we tried to play. We have no centre midfield. Graham Dorrans, sorry but should never get a game again. Rather have Paul Allan in there

Aye very good.

He talks as if the sun shines oot his erse.

Sorry guys, he has to go, for us older fans, remember the shambolic appointments of Tam Forsyth, Iain Munro, Jocky Scott? I go further and put Pat Stanton, Stephen Kenny, and now Peter Grant as very dismal appointments.

Saying AJ and Crawford were both terrible appointments is a bit over the top. They both ultimately fell short but they weren`t the disaster that this one looks to be.

There are a lot of valid points on here but when did having an `interview process` guarantee selecting the right manager?

Did Jock Stein send in his cv, or Willie Cunningham, Jim Leishman, Bert Paton, Jimmy Calderwood...?

He has to go, today was akin to the Stephen Kenny era when there was a revolt. Peter Grant has just got us playing revolting stuff . I was actually surprised that he got off quite lightly at the full time whistle. From the keeper to playing numerous players out of position I don't know what he is thinking, that's some of the worst football I've seen at EEP in my 30 odd years watching us

Grant looks to have lost the dressing room and when that happens it’s only a matter of time (hopefully). Rumours will get back to the BOD at some point.

Most of the team were going through the motions and looked like they didn’t care.

Dom Thomas has certainly given up, he has gone from captain to sub and his performance today was like someone playing football in Sunday league and not a full time pro.

Let`s go through the signings Grant made:

Graham Dorrans - a signing I was excited about but he has been rank rotten

Rhys Breen - zero game time so far

Deniz Mehmet - thought he would do ok but is arguably the worst keeper I`ve seen at EEP

Reece Cole - wasn`t enthused about him. Been very lazy so far and not impressed

Nico Todorov - delighted with this signing. He has been ok but nothing spectacular

Dan Pybus - why did we sign him? Awful signing. Released from Queens and comes to us? Madness

Leon Jones - unknown

Ross Graham - Awful signing. Would happily send him back

Kai Kennedy - Most exciting signing of the lot. Can`t believe he hasn`t started every game.

Out of 9 signings, only two have put in decent performances. The rest are either untried or have been awful. I never thought it would be worse than what Crawford provided but I was wrong. This will not get better until he is gone.

We’ve definitely signed some dross but
the manager hasn’t helped .
McDonald and Edwards are probably competent RB and LB but asking them to be our main source of attacks ? Seems really silly . They are caught out far too much.
Todorov and O’Hara are no where near good enough to play this system and why play both of them ? Wighton a far superior player to both .
Genuinely scunnered with the club .

Certainly not for defending Grant, results are entirely unacceptable and that's what he's responsible for as 'manager'.

I do wonder though if the issue could be the coaching team behind him? We were pihs under Crawford and pihs now with quite a different bunch of players.

Been following the Pars since 1996 and this is right up there with the Kenny days after getting pumped off Hamilton and Livingston. Club is a total mess. McArthur and Grant both needing binned and these investors need to take control of the situation and get someone proper in. Making a statement and going out and getting Petrie would be a PR masterclass.

Crowds are only going to continue to dwindle. Be lucky if we get over 2k by Christmas if we persist with this absolute charlatan. Surely when the whole crowd start singing “You’re getting sacked in the morning” (our own fans btw) there’s no way back from that? McArthur and Grant have lost the fans. They don’t deserve to be at this club. My club is a million miles away from the one I fell in love with. No identity whatsoever. Clubs knew they were going to have to play extra special to get a result at East End under Bert, Jimmy C, Jim McIntyre (before SPL), just as an example.

Honking decision after honking decision with McArthur and is it any wonder season tickets have sold so poorly after years of stagnation? Massive changes needed and, hopefully, the Germans can take proper control of the situation and make the necessary changes. My fear is that they put all their eggs in the Grant basket and have nothing left to change it, in which case we are completely screwed and will be in a relegation battle.

I Know There's Gonna Be (Good Times)
