A 1-1 draw.
Oh come on, Neil. Denmark beat Moldova 8-0. Even the Pars would have managed a better result. ☺

3-0 now for Israel... they always seem able to pull a performance like that off, but usually save it for Scotland...

This is absolutely brutal! I can`t believe how much they`ve been in our half. Scotland seem so negative under Clarke just now. I don`t understand playing 3 at the back against teams like Moldova and the Faroes. We have a must not lose game on Tuesday and playing like this, we`ll have no chance. The squad are capable of so much better. Hopefully the tempo increases in the second half

Utterly inept when it comes to putting the ball in the back of the net. And this against one of Europe`s worst sides.

We will never beat Austria. We just never have that self belief. We play too cautious, and always, play not to get beaten.Go for it, for God's sake entertain us for a change, we must be the most boring team to watch. If we find that performance acceptable, God help us.

I tend to find that winning a must-win international game pretty comfortably is acceptable.

We should be going for it a bit more but a win is a win. 2nd still well within reach but I wouldn't hold much hope of a route through the play offs considering it's a semi and a final to negotiate with much stronger opposition you'd imagine.

I thought we played ok, first half was good. second half was not terrible either. It should have been 3 or 4 nil, it was only poor finishing that kept the score down. Robertson, Tierney, McGinn, Gilmour and Christie all missed glorious chances. The tempo was much better and we were aggressive at winning the ball back quickly which led to the goal and most of our clear chances. We never looked like conceding either, albeit against weak opposition. Certainly there were areas that could be a lot better, as well as the shooting, some of the crossing was aimless and Nisbet and Dykes rarely combined. Dykes was a lot more involved than Nizzy, better from him last night.
The game pretty much passed Nisbet by, although apart from Gilmour, not many of his teammates had the awareness to pick him out on some of the occasions he dropped off the defenders or looked to get in behind. Two flashes of quality from him though with two simple, but composed passes in either half setting up Patterson and Gilmour - this composure in and around the box being the main thing we lacked last night.
I am optimistic for Tuesday, Austria are a decent side, defensively pretty solid (normally), and with a few players of high quality; Sabitzer & Alaba in particular. Nothing to be terrified of though (as Israel showed), its a game we can win if we are aggressive, defensively solid and ambitious when breaking forward. Adams probably comes back in for Nisbet as we will need his energy and pace on the break and also McGregor, for one of Christie/McGinn/Dykes otherwise there will be too much space in midfield for Austria.

So tight. Hopefully we can get on a wee run like we managed last Septemnrr and October. Even edging a couple of games by the old goal is enough for many of us perennial second at best nations.

I don't understand this nonsense about the game passing Nisbet by. His overall play and pace going forward was good. He was instrumental in the play leading to the goal, and also set up really good chances for Robertson, Gilmour with some clever play. He also would have been through on goal for an easy chance had Dykes not been too slow/greedy to put him through.

Heard 2 reasons for the lightshow, either / both of which are plausible - tribute to a TA lassie who died during the week & a thing for Denis Law, which makes sense as it was around 78 mins it started.
No idea for sure tho!
