Enough is enough, he must walk tonight! The fans have to stand up and make our voices heard. We are in free fall. Protest at the next home match if required?

The issue is for me is that we are giving teams a 2 or 3 goal start every game and we have yet to play the likes of ICT and Killie. We are in freefall and although it is early days we need to act now before our season becomes simply about avoiding Relegation.

To make our average of concerning 3 goals a game worse

Edit, I forgot we only let Morton score two, they must be terrible.

Squad has a few decent players in it da no 1 but it`s totally imbalanced and has far too many players who aren`t Championship quality. When you look where we`re struggling it`s the spine of the team - goalkeeper, centre half and centre midfield - so without that being addressed the few good players we have in Dow, Thomas, Kennedy, Comrie, Wighton etc are as well as not being there.

Go. One positive I can say is I think he has been good at getting the right person (s) to support and assist Lewis Martin back from injury.

What else...nothing

Poor tactics
Poor set up v certain teams
Almost entirely poor recruitment
Bad attitude

What is he working on the training pitch. Last 3 league games we have let in two goals in first half. And he has a ton of defenders

BEAST!

Definitely time for Grant to go. I was very surprised the board made the decision to replace Crawford ( who got us to the play offs) with a manager who got his team relegated. Surely if you replace a player or manager you choose someone who is better. I was willing to give Grant a chance and the cup games showed that we could score goals. Sadly the defensive problems in the cup games haven’t be rectified & Grant doesn’t look like he knows how to fix this situation. Instead giving the players the blame at any opportunity. We need some new in pronto that can get our defence organised before were in a relegation battle.

Go.

The only reason you`d keep a manager despite such poor results is if he has a plan for improvement that needs time to work. However, there`s no evidence of improvement, and no evidence of a plan even.

As well as damaging our points position, he`s damaging morale among the players and support, and the longer the board let that continue, the longer it`ll take it get it back.

Away the Pars!

Taxi fur a F@nny!! I`ll even pay for it to go south of the border never to return.

This has gone almost as far as it should be allowed without us risking being in a relegation play off come the end of season.

There comes a time where you need to look at business interests and do what is required to turn it around even if that means sustaining an immediate financial hit, because looking forward all i can see is a big drop in income from stay away fans and 1st division football

The BOD are to blame for this. They have only appointed one half decent manager in Allan Johnston then failed to recognise he had taken the club far enough.

We are atrocious. Graham and Mehmet should never play again!

We are going to get ‘horsed’ in the next 3 games as well by Raith, Hamilton and ICT!!

He has to go……..

Presently we are shipping 3 goals a game.

The formation & tactics don’t work - we need to change them.

If Grants not willing to change them then he needs to go.

The board/Germans are going to be faced with a dilemma - lose Grant or the support on our present form you cant hold onto both.

This is a shambles to top all others at EEP.

When all the signings were getting announced I was really excited and thought we could look forward to a season where we could really challenge.

Don`t know how much longer we can give him a chance where we seem to be getting the same terrible performances every week.

Who could replace him? Especially given that PG (a guy who, regardless of circumstances, managed a team that got relegated from the division we are trying to get out of) appeared to be the best option available the last time.

Even with no manager we`d probably experience some kind of "bounce" and get a few more points on the board.

Despite not seeing any sense in hiring him, I was prepared to give him time. But every game since Partick Thistle in the cup (where we won due to them having a capitulation) we've been dominated for the majority of the matches and defensively have been all over the place, with no sign of improvement. We aren't exactly giving youth a chance, playing attractive attacking football or getting results, so surely he's failing on every objective?

We just got gubbed by a team who parted ways with their manager 2 days ago, it's about weighing up the risk of keeping grant on and hoping he'll turn it around or paying the money and getting in somebody who has a half decent record without all his pals hiring him everywhere he's been. Not saying you can get someone in to guarantee results but leave it any longer and we risk doing a Partick Thistle/Falkirk

The problem you’ve got, who’s going to take the gig and is he going to get the time to clear this mess up.

He has to work with players like Mehmet, Dorrans & Graham on 2yr deals.

If any decent manager had sense they wouldn’t touch us right now.

BOD can’t let this go on much longer, there is absolutely no light at the end of the tunnel. Germans need to take control away from RM on all football related matters.

Performances are getting no better, shipping goals and playing players that clearly are not good enough or don’t know how to play the tactics they are being asked.

If he would just take an ounce of responsibility, there may be hope, but he has not got a clue. We are losing 3 goals a game with not even a slight indication he knows where the problem lies. Have to wonder if Alloa wouldve stayed up under someone else. Considering he was sacked says even their expectation was to stay up

That`s a new one! Not so long ago the board were being criticised for not getting rid of SC after failing to get us promoted. Now it`s being suggested they got rid of him to make way for their preferred candidate!

My understanding is that the board were completely taken by surprise when Stevie announced he wanted to resign.

Whilst I think Grant is hopeless and comes across VERY poorly in interviews, there does seem to be an attitude with some of the players. Perhaps it's frustration as being left out or played out of position, or perhaps they just have bad attitudes. Grant's attitude seems to be "it's all YOUR fault" whereas Crawford was more "it's all MY fault". There needs to be an in-between.

My concern would be if Thomas has an attitude. If he does, then he should go. I used to manage someone who was great at their job but had a disruptive attitude. Not only did my team improve when they finally left, but relationships with my team improved. The most amusing thing was that the person left expecting us to beg them to stay then gave it the "good luck, you're going to need it!". They've not done particularly well and won't ever be employed by me (I inherited them).

Grant signed most of these players. He identified them as being suitable to fit into our club and his team. If neither of those were the case or these players attitudes have suddenly appeared he's to blame. No one else

He has to go. What positive thing has he brought to the team? We cannot keep letting teams score early and we do nothing! If this is left for another few weeks/ months then it’s relegation for us. I don’t know what the financial situation is like however the league below will surely cost us? So frustrating. This is the worst I have seen Dunfermline since administration - even then we had players who wanted to make it work because they had some passion about them on the pitch. Just feel sorely disappointed with the decisions made.

On the turn. It’s one of the basics of defending. DON’T let yourselves be caught on the turn. When I spoke to Roy Barry a few years back he instantly agreed it was the worst place for any defender to be: either side on or even worse, facing your own goal. It’s basic reality for any defender.

This basic truth was being screamed by DFC fans on this very website from the first league game yet for the best part of a month stubborn Peter Grant played a back three that allowed passes down the flanks to turn the Pars defence time and again. We were leaking goals. We were a soft touch. Now he has played a back four that allows our defenders to be facing the play most of the time and the improvement is obvious. So far so good. We might be relegated as the team losing the fewest goals ever.

We now have to learn to turn the opposition defence and if it takes four weeks for Grant to learn how to coach this I will be grateful. But he is running out of time. There does not seem to be a goal in the team.

I commented a couple of weeks ago that this was like the final days of the Stephen Kenny era yet the Board continue to give this chancer another week to get this right.

They have made an absolute bottom of the recruitment of the manager but will cling onto the bitter end. Like Potter, AJ Crawford and now Grant .

I am done for the foreseeable. I have never been so disengaged with the Pars than now.

I'm not having a go at ANYONE honestly but I don't understand the logic of "I'm done for the foreseeable"

It was really boring yesterday but the players still put in a shift. They were defending well and trying to make things happen. There's just something lacking just now going forward probably due to a lack of confidence.

So we eventually sack the manager....do those who jacked it in all flood back? Or wait to see if the new manager bounce happens first.

I've already paid up front so I'm as well keeping going to find out for myself. The folk who need to take £20 out their wallet will rightly feel different. Just wondering at what point if ever do they come back? How many wins would it take?

Does the 12 miles along the A92 count as "travel"? Even that was an effort yesterday!

I was actually in town yesterday but chose the no brainer of lunch and hanging out with my daughter...
All efforts to go to the game count fella, the club would do well to consider this.

There have been some serious lows in my 36 years of following the Pars. Right now we are definitely heading to the seaside league. That was another absolutely terrible performance, we deserved to lose. Grant should be sacked tonight!

I didn’t realise he had offered his resignation. The season goals were at least a play off spot.
We are well outside that. Clearly not good enough in results or performances the I think there is good reason to question his integrity if there is no offer of resignation.

The problem is that, to preserve his integrity, he may well wave goodbye to a a significant sum of money. I wonder what his family would think of that? And do you or I know what we would do in his shoes? Jose Mourinho is far richer than Peter Grant. I don't think he's resigned from any club, even though he could well afford to walk away without a penny in compensation.

If the BoD decides to terminate his contract there may well be a clause which allows him to leave with a partial payment under the guise of "mutual consent."

I`ve no doubt the Grant thinks he can turn it around if he`s given the time. As such, I don`t think we can question his integrity. He should only resign if he thinks he can`t do the job - and there`s no sign that he`s not confident in his own ability.

He won`t get any more of a chance to prove it though, so he`ll get paid off. That`s football.

I love it when we go sell Kevin Nisbet,

Todorov and Wighton were joint 2nd top scorers in this division last year. O’Hara was one goal behind them. What more could you really ask for, in terms of strikers at this level? What are you trying to achieve by saying they’re not good enough because they’re now being poorly managed and ignoring what they have shown they’re capable of in the past? I’m sure Wighton averaged about one every 140 mins for us last season. They don’t become bad players overnight, but can’t do much if the tactics/coaching is restricting them.

We aren’t even creating chances for our strikers to miss, so I don’t know why on earth you’re blaming the strikers.

We all go on about Grant !!
But what about the players on the park ? most were here last season
And as others have said we have 3 of the top goalscorers last season at our disposal , It`s not rocket science we are not playing to our strengths , Tactics are obviously crap , no point shutting the back door if you cannot score 1 more than the opposition ! at present we are definitely Relegation contenders , if Morton get a win or 2 we will be stranded
Not looking forward to this Saturday`s game against Arbroath ` at one time we didn`t know what to expect on a Saturday sad to say now we are very predictable
Bottom line is the managers tactic`s or are our players not up to it

Go, go, go. No delay, no excuses. To be fair to him he's never had a go at the fans, never ducked the criticism heading his way and never failed to front up after a poor performance. But its gone on too long, the damage was done weeks ago. As a manager, he's broken the team, he's breaking the players and his incompetence is breaking the club. Culpability also lies with the board. Time's up, find a new manager now. To keep him any longer is, frankly, taking the xxxx out of the fans who go to games home and away. Tonight was insipid, dreary, lacking in any entertainment (save for the goal) and ultimately their goal was inevitable. Enough is enough.

Grant seems like a manager who has newly arrived from another country or at least another league. As Alloa’s manager last year he must have been alert to the strengths and weaknesses in the Pars side, have been capable of assessing how they would adapt to his preferred style of play. Grant clearly thought we would be in what is now emerging as the top half of the division, which turns out to have been a serious misjudgement on his part.

And now that his Plan A has been shredded and we are trying to grind out results he should surely be aware of vulnerable areas in the opposing teams we could exploit. He knew most of the teams from last year after all. Yet what are being exposed are our own vulnerabilities.

And I'm thinking the only candidate that ticks the boxes and more importantly would be given time would be Petrie. Everyone else would split the support pretty much down the middle which would leave us where we were in the summer after his "video"

Grant to go. Brought in a fair few of his own players in the summer and to a man they have been duds. Some contracted through to next season. He has only made the existing players worse and not a single player has improved or looks to be enjoying playing under him. Results don’t lie.

Petrie has never coached or signed a full time player, too big a risk for me given our current predicament.

I don`t get the logic that because Petrie has never signed a full-time player he somehow is unable to do so. The guy played over 400 games as a professional so I`m sure he knows how it works We are currently almost the bottom of the rung when it comes to full-time clubs-what recently successful full-time managers would be queuing up to take over?

Petrie started as a coach 13 years ago with Ross County, then coached in Australia, became an assistant manager at Arbroath in 2011. He joined Montrose in 2016. He won the title and took them out of the bottom division for the first time in 22 years. Now he has established them in League One qualifying for the playoffs and missing out on the title by 7 points to Partick last season. This season they are occupying the play-off spots again with the best goal difference in the division.

If you look around the country at what managers are currently performing well-who have you got?

Callum Davidson-first managerial job
Tam Courts-first full time job
Jim Goodwin-first full time job
David Martindale?-first managerial job
Jack Ross-was a part-time manager 5 years ago
Steven Gerrard-first managerial job

In our division we have had manager`s like Stuart Kettlewell and David Hopkin get clubs promoted in recent times with zero experience.

I`m not saying he is the only candidate but we are in no position to be ruling out on the basis that he hasn`t managed full-time-there are currently only 3 clubs between us in the league ladder!

I'm still backing Peter Grant. It's only a matter of time before we get a rub of the green and pick up the first win, I reckon when that happens we will go on a run. He needs time, give him till December at least. If there is no climb up the table by then, then he will perhaps have to go. Rome wasn't built in a day

I fear for the club, I do not want anyone to lose their job, however my club comes before its manager or indeed any player. Peter must go.

I’d be inclined to give him a couple more games as well.

We need to become more of an attacking threat, we were a threat at the start of the season but defensively we’re awful, we’ve went the other way, he needs to find the balance. Having Pybus and Allan in midfield, whilst have performed well and steadied the ship, offer nothing offensively.

He has improved, proven in the results in that we’ve lost only once in the last seven, problem is the other six have been draws and it’s clearly not enough.

It would’ve been interesting to see what the reaction would’ve been here had that 89th minute goal not gone in. We would have jumped Morton and would only have been 9 points off the promotion playoffs.

I’m sorry - I am absolutely gobsmacked that there are Dunfermline fans who genuinely believe Peter Grant is the right man in the dugout to manage our club.

How can anyone who has been to our 11 league games and watched us, pass judgement that what they are witnessing is improvement and to the better future of Dunfermline Athletic FC?

Sorry I don’t want to have a go at Pars fans - really don’t.

But this is the weakest worst Championship I have seen in my lifetime, and we have not won a game.

I say again, we have NOT won a game.

11 attempts, against some of the worst footballing sides the Championship has ever seen, and no wins. In a season we expect (we being the club and indeed the manager) to see progression on last years 4th position, and we sit almost one third in, having scored 7 goals and have Zero wins.

Our crowd numbers are scarily low too, clearly a reflection on the fans thoughts on the dugout incumbent.

Improvement? How is STILL not being able to win games an ACCEPTABLE improvement for us? We’ve gone from getting pumped 3-0 or 5-0 to drawing games. There is STILL no evidence that we can win a game under this manager.

What other measures do you want or need to come to the conclusion that this is - right now - the absolute pits for our football team? Furthermore only an immediate change of manager can start to move us forward.

How is this not painfully obvious for everyone?

Rome might not have been built in a day.
But it took the Visigoths les than a week to sack the city.

Rub of the green has not really been a factor so far; from last night`s highlights we had a shot cleared off our line and might have conceded a penalty. We`ve lost two late goals that cost points- if that is luck- but scored one that saved a game as well.

As for a victory setting us off on a run, well that is more likely t be a run of draws and defeats based on current evidence.

Yes agreed that he probably has few more games. I think the players he has brought in have not made an impact other than Connolly. Not sure where PG is going from here. I don't think we are good enough and it may be a case of hanging on until the January window until he can bring players in and try and climb the table a bit. He may not have the luxury.

I wonder if the board are now hoping Grant will get so embarrassed and uncomfortable that he resigns and forgoes a payoff? It’s the only explanation I can think of for not having sacked him yet.

They can’t seriously believe he is the man to take the club to the premier league.

How much is it likely to cost to pay him off?

How much compensation would be required to Arbroath or Montrose to take Campbell or Petrie?

Lose on Saturday and he has to go, always thought the he would have been given to the end of October to turn it around but our BOD are so unpredictable.

Performances have improved (not shipping goals) but not enough to suggest he can keep us up never mind a playoff position.

PG time is up, time is running out.

BOD need to get real, it isn’t working with PG.

Sorry but are you saying let’s wait til January?

“Wins will come”

On what evidence? I’m really curious to know why those who think he should be given more time believe that? Trying to hide my incredulity but wtf is going on!? 😂

I can't quite believe what I am reading. Last night Raith were miles ahead of us football wise. We have no cohesion, no game plan, no fluency, no link between defense through the midfield to attack.

His team is full of last seasons players. The majority of his signings are now benched or in the stand. His preferred formation bombed after it was proved unworkable with signings he made.

He is a disaster and needs emptied before he single handedly ruins the hard work it took to get us out league 1 and back to being an established championship team. There is literally no argument for keeping him.

I agree alot with whst da_no1 is saying. I think we were again poor against a weakened Raith side. We simply sren't good enough despite all the rhetoric. We have no penetration or invention up front. It took a great individual goal from Thomas. We aren't creating chances and that puts pressure on the defence who are doing their job. I had high hopes for Wighton but he is not delivering. O'Hara in my view is not good enough this season. Todorov has done very little. We are losing out in midfield. Second to the ball on many occasions. We are looking like relegation candidates.

Relegation? It’s taboo, like ‘Don’t mention the war.’

The day Peter Grant comes out and acknowledges he has made gross errors and is now in a relegation fight is the day he might- just- be able to rally the Pars fans behind him and his narcoleptic version of park the bus football. So far all we have heard is a CV too good to submit, title within our grasp and now: progress is being made by drawing our way to victory. Every step has been a retraction on what was said before, so expect more of the same. Soon it will be `Greenock is not an easy place to pick up points.`

If we keep Grant, we will likely be relegated with the fewest games lost and the fewest goals conceded in the history of the second tier. He’s that good.

Did someone seriously suggest that Grant should be give the Jan transfer window to turn things around?! His signings in the summer probably make up the worst transfer window I've seen from the Pars since it was introduced.

It's already too late for Grant to go, he should have been gone weeks ago. The apathy has set in with a large portion of the support, and I think appointing Petrie is realistically the only thing that will galvanise the support again this season.

Peter Grant is brutal manager but what’s worse is that the next manager is gonna have to be brilliant to get a tune out of that squad . There’s fitba in that team , of course there is , but confidence is rock bottom. Should have got Thomas Courts

It's hard to believe there are still folk on here willing to let this fester till January !
The likelihood is we'll be adrift at the bottom by then . Absolutely no evidence of a turnaround in form ,and draws are not good enough .
He should have been out as soon as the 1st winless quarter was done .

I thought Todorov was just what we needed. Based on seeing him at ICT and, more so, the season Livvy won the league he was a right handful and a big threat in the air which we'd been missing. So far it's not really worked out but still early days !

Graham has been totally out of his depth bar a couple of games against Stenny / Dumbarton and given his age and lack of experience probably should have been pulled out if the firing line long before he was.

Mehmet has been a disaster full stop.

Dorrans still has the nice touches and range of passing but doesn't look sharp and wants too long on the ball which you don't get at this level.

Reece Cole reminds me of one of the 'celebs' you would see playing in Soccer Aid.

That leaves Pybus who i think has been decent and does the simple stuff effectively and Connolly who in the space of a few weeks looks like the best signing out of everyone so far.

If we lose on Saturday, we could potentially be 4 or 5 points off SAFETY, never mind a promotion play-off, never mind challenging for the bloody league, which was the aim.

If that happens, then there is no case for him being given more time.

Yes I agree that was the case. SC went at short notice, when PG came in there was little opportunity for him to build a squad. Players who have come in are more bench players I would say. If Dorrans can get fit and with Connolly maybe we can turn results around. I can't see PG being given until January though.

Re signings, Breen hasn`t had a chance because of illness and injury and Jones was unfortunate that his only start was in the abandoned game at Kirkcaldy. Kennedy obviously has talent but hasn`t produced an end-product in any games I`ve seen.

Forgot all about Breen actually Eck.

Jones looked decent against Raith albeit briefly, had a right few ding dongs with Zannatta (maybe history there from Hearts youth team?) and then had a howler against Ayr and not been seen since. Although i believe he had Covid pretty bad which would explain why he looked so out of sorts at Ayr.
