How many times does it need saying? He is of pensionable age and s extremely comfortable working part-time to complement his job outside football. He is never going back full-time ever.

If Grant is relieved of his duties, big IF that btw, then it’ll be someone unrmployed that has managed and done well at this level previously.

I Know There's Gonna Be (Good Times)

Is that too much to ask?

He was desperate for the Pars job in the summer. That’s no secret. If we offered him it he’d jump at the chance.

In his last interview he stated “Everyone knows Dunfermline is my club” the interview before that he said “there’s only 1 maybe two full time clubs that could tempt him back” 1 club being Dundee United where it all began

A par since 1985

He’d come to us if we want him I think, despite what you think of him, he has done wonders with Arbroath.

Can someone give Petrie a bell as well and see if he fancies it?

Berry as much as Petrie is a legend here he shouldn’t be out next manager, not in these circumstances.

He’s never signed a full time player or prob even scouted one, he’d need a strong full time team around him and to really hit the ground running and that feels like a very big and infact to much to ask. It’s too big a risk.

Dick Campbell has a small club out performing us by a country mile.

They don’t have a sugar daddy that is spending money on a personal project like Kelty.

We look like the village team trying to compete with the bigger boys and are totally out of our depth.

Fair challenge Berkey, and don’t disagree with your points but allow me to counter a little bit.

He’s never signed a full time player before, guess my challenge would be…so what? What he has done with Montrose on shoestring budget and part time players has been really impressive. He’s not going to sign a full time player until he gets a chance at a full time club. We have Thomas Meggle as well now who will be hands on and help. One could argue signing part time players and getting them performing is more impressive.

He’s already one point ahead of Grant who hasn’t done anything really that impressive at Alloa.

What we’re learning as well is, at this level of football, there isn’t much difference in ability between part time and full time players. Look at the players we’ve signed for example.

He has proven he can get the best out of his players and I think he can get the best out of this group.

Does he want the job, probably not, is this the right time, I’d agree with you it probably isn’t. But if he was interested…I’d entertain it certainly.

No one saying Dick Campbell will solve all our problems but I think it’s wrong not to consider a guy who loves the club, would go full time for the club, who actually has some real credentials with what he is doing now with Arbroath.

We’re not a ‘big club’ anymore, we need to lose this big club mentality and stop looking down on certain managers.

DC may not be the answer, but until we try we won’t know?

Are we looking for the next Sir Alex or Pep who will leave at the 1st offer?

Grant clearly isn’t the answer and who is?

Football has moved on since Dick`s time at the Pars.

His part time Arbroath have pumped the Pars a few times over the past couple of years. They`ve just hammered relegated Hamilton and sit third in the table.

If he`s interested, bring him back to sort it out.

I would absolutely take Dick Campbell at the moment. We are in dire straits with a manager that is so far out of his depth that I am absolutely convinced we will be relegated if we continue on this path. The board need to grow a set and end this farce now.

He's come from managing a part-time club. He'll not be on big money. McInnes could command 10 times what Grant is on.

I love it when we go sell Kevin Nisbet,

I don't know if anyone can sort out the mess that we are in easily. Perhaps a new manager might be able to avoid relegation. If and its a big if PG went to a 442 it might help.

The longer this goes on before the board make a decision, then the new managers remit will be to keep us in the league and that`ll end up being a success for us...oh how times have changed.
A decision has to be made by the beginning of October realistically you`d think.

Mehmet

Mcdonald
Watson
Gaapuitis
Edwards

Dow
Pybus
Dorrans
Kennedy

Todorov
O hara.

Everyone in their correct position..

Doesn't matter what formation he plays them in, it's got to be how they go about playing and it's too open with PG

What odds?

Why on earth do you think he’d be punted if he won promotion? He’d become a legend if he was to achieve promotion.

I think I’ve watched the last 4 or 5 Pars vs Arbroath games and he’s got his team playing decent fitba. If that what got Grant the job, why not Dick?

It’s not exactly like there’s a load of managers out there who have experience of taking a team out this league.

Yeah don’t know the backstory to that one but yes been mentioned.

Dick doesn’t have a chance of being our manager, we’re stuck in the bubble where we still think we’re a big club and managers like him are beneath us when quite frankly we might need one of these type of managers to make us again.

When the managers job was available in the summer, I laughed at everyone suggesting Dick as our target was promotion and IMO he wasn't the man to do that.

Now? I'd bite your hand off for him until the end of the season. We'd be safe mid table, maybe sneaking into the playoffs. A million miles better than where we are now - come on home Dick.

Within a few posts of yours there is someone saying he would love to have Dick back til the end of the season.
Thats about it. The mentality of fitba fans is astonishing.
Take him from where he is enjoying doing a good job to get us out the **** and get the real deal in place when we are promoted.

Dick would just need to lose a couple of games early on and the dotnet knives would be out.

Canny change creatures of habit.

Dick Campbell has done a remarkable job in part time football. That is where he is suited. His record managing a full time club is not so impressive. He was murder when he managed us. His record at Partick and Ross County is equally poor.
