 CL Tonight

Watching the Pars isn`t a lot of fun at this time - downright depressing in fact. The start of the CL campaign is a welcome distraction, even if I`m not a huge fan of the group stage. Too many of the seeded teams are normally far too strong for the smaller clubs and the result is almost always a foregone conclusion.

Tonight we can watch Man U teaching the Young Boys of Berne how the big boys play the game at 5.45 and you`ll have barely time to pour yourself another beer (or cuppa) before it`ll be time to tune in to an 8 pm game. I`m swithering between Chelsea v Zenit or Barca v Bayern. Chances are I`ll opt for the Camp Nou.

Wan Bissaka was the silly young boy who cost his team the game. Messi-less Barca being schooled by Bayern on their own patch just now.

That aged well 😂

Interesting attitude though for a supporter of a provincial team where we often face similar condescending attitudes from Old Firm fans

Do female analysts improve football programs or simply tick boxes for the broadcasters ?

If that was aimed at me, I`m surprised you took my flippant post at face value, P. I don`t mind Man U but I wouldn`t call myself a fan. My post was an attempt at a pun, given the unusual name of United`s Swiss opponents.

"Do male analysts improve football programs or simply tick boxes for the broadcasters ?"

I`d rather listen to Alex Scott, Julie Fleeting or Emma Hayes than I would Steve Macmanaman, Rio Ferdinand, Steven Warnock or Jermaine Jenas.

What an experience that will be for the lad.

I really like Leanne Crichton on the Scottish football. Very calm and knows what she's talking about. Would rather her than Kris Boyd.

I agree. She reads the game very well.

Leanne Chrichton does a great job. Always pretty fair and impartial in her analysis.

Just seen a player called Osimhen score two goals for Napoli in a 2-2 draw at Leicester. Napoli were two goals down but every time this big Nigerian got near the ball there was panic in defence. His first goal was like watching a boxer doing top level ballet dancing. He could soon be up there with Haaland and Mbappe on that showing.
