What about if the duck breaks a straw over the camel's back?

Unfortunately can’t see us winning today, we haven’t really looked like winning a game this season in the league so far, happy to be proved wrong but think it’ll be another 1-1 draw today

Quite fancy us today. Defence is reasonably solid and we generally create chances. Injuries could be a problem - Dorrans must be a doubt and doubt Wighton can play 90 minutes on plastic today.

Mon the Pars!!!!!!!!!!!

Not going into this with any confidence off the back of rovers game, players do not have a clue how to set up defensively and even worse in possession of the ball bar 15 mins v rovers, only way we can sneak a win is with individuals having a good game

Win or it’s surely curtains for Grant. Draw is not good enough. We’ll still be in the relegation zone going in to an international break.

OFW is the captain. Allan in for Dorrans. Still, Dow is preferred over Thomas...

Outside of Thomas, no game savers on the bench.

Just watching the live stream from Dumfries, and both teams are out on the pitch warming up. There is a significant difference in intensity between the two sides. I guess we have to hope that QOS will tire themselves out early...

Pretty much Connolly v QOTS, Mark Connolly has been everywhere, just needs to pop up for a goal

I`m half-watching, half-working, so if anyone wants to disagree, I can`t really argue too much.

Based on what I`ve seen though, on a positive note, we look fairly solid - especially compared to the start of the season. Connolly and Gaspuitis look a quality pairing for the Championship. Paul Allan has also slotted in well given he`s not played a league game all season.

On a negative note, we don`t look like creating a chance never mind scoring. Kennedy pretty anonymous, O`Hara is better off the bench - no first touch, can`t pick a pass, Dow marginally more lively but not himself, Wighton not done much, Pybus is Pybus.

I`d still take Willie Gibson back even at 37.

The team today seem incapable of either taking a touch or making a pass. I know that’s a lot to ask for from professional footballers… O’hara and Edwards been particularly awful in this regard so far.

A very insipid half.

On the plus point Connolly and Gaspuitis have done there job, won there headers and matched up well physically to the Queens attack, Fon Williams made a good save in what was the closest any side has came to scoring.

The bad? We look utterly devoid of any creativity, or any idea as to how to attack. For the first 35 minutes there was allot of long balls as QoTS pressed us reasonably high, once that had dropped we then had time with the ball along our back line, all that came from that though was Connolly and Gaspuitis passing it amongst themselves while absolutely nothing happened in front of them. If there's going to be one player to break and beat a man it'll be Kennedy, he is often getting fed by Edwards though who's passing is by and large, atrocious.

All in all a very, very, very dour game, I don't think we've threatened once. This is either a team of bad players or a team who are badly coached, the lack of ideas going forward is staggering.

Absolutely Gash just now !!
not even managed a shot at goal ,,
other results not helping our cause apart from the Morton score
Hamilton 2 Inverness 0 and Hamilton down to 10 men
Kilmarnock 0 Raith 1
Morton 0 , Arbroath 1
Partick 2 , Ayr 0
And Of course QOS 0 Pars 0
Again on this showing It`s not hard to understand why so many people are moaning about out tactics and the way we set ourselves up
45 minutes to register a win !! and hope that Morton get beat and we are off the bottom !!
But we need to step up a few gears and actually have a shot at goal to get a winner , so I won`t hold my breath , I keep thinking this is the week when we will get things right but at the moment I don`t know if this will happen
Getting deflated with our only turning up for a game

Why has Grant got our wingers playing so centrally? Queen of the South are playing a similar system that we used earlier in the season. Teams were finding huge gaps out wide and really tore us apart down the wings. Did Grant really not see that? Or did he see that and just decide not to try and make the most of the gaps behind the Queens wing backs?

There are huge gaps out wide when we get the ball and we aren’t even trying to take advantage of that. Really abysmal management. I mean, he saw teams rip us apart out wide for 4 consecutive games, using that tactic. Why would he not see this and try and do the same to another team that use this system?!

If we don`t win away at Partick that`s a full year with no away victory in the league-16 games. We`ve won twice away since 2019. No excuses for Grant but we haven`t become poor over night-something needs to give.

I think it was actually zero shots on target today.
The usual in other words.
Five shots off target. Maybe signs that PG is getting things right?
58% possession suggests he is.

Being serious, nobody deep down really expected a Pars goal today. 0-0 was our best bet.

The board must take responsibility for this mess, and Grant and the players too.
Simply put some of the signings were questionable at best,he has to go his job is untenable now.But who do we get to replace him?

Feel sorry for the fans who have spent their money going all the way down to Dumfries to watch that poor Pars team.

People thought we had it bad under Stevie C, At least he cared! He always blamed himself instead of making stupid excuses for everything!

If he is not gone, I will have NO faith going forward in Ross and the board!

Grant absolutely has to go but last season is the tiny nagging doubt for me. We were brutal for the majority of last season too. I just wonder if there is something more wrong than just the manager.

Crawford will have done so much better with this squad of players.

I'm not so sure the players are good enough to be honest. We were poor in midfield and won virtually nothing in the air. No real goal threat today and looking like a team who hasn't played together. Kennedy look the only stand out for me. Wightons was upset when he went off but I didn't think he played well along with several others.

Been to Greenock, Ayr and on way back from Dumfries. Football has been brutal in all three games. Rovers was ok for half an hour. Least said about the home games the better Genuinely getting to the stage when it`s becoming a chore. Some real anger at the end and stewards had to step in to stop things escalating.
Enough is enough.

A poor game between two poor sides. For most of the game it looked like a 0-0 with the concern that the first goal would win it. I wonder if that was the plan – keep it tight and hope to catch a break.

A 4-4-2 with Allen coming in for Dorrans, and Wighton and O’Hara starting up front. OFW was captain – possibly a deserved honour, but I’m never sure making a goalie captain helps when you are trying to get back in a game. We looked more solid at the back, but we struggled in the rest of the pitch – few runs being made and no creativity. The back four could shuffle the ball between them all day, but as soon as they tried to go forward, possession would be lost. Not sure the pitch helps – the ball doesn’t sit down as quickly which means that players have less time on the ball. I guess a confident player would take a risk to create room, but we are short of them. Kennedy does take people on, but there is no end product, apart from one beautiful pass in the first half to O’Hara on the left (before making the run to get the return, but his long-distance shot was blocked). Has Dow lost half a yard since his injury? At least Thomas managed to set up O’Hara late on but I agree he was 2 feet off-side.

Overall, I can’t recall their keeper having a save to make which tells you something. Nothing Wighton tried came off – Todorov did win a few headers, but it was too little too late. And once we conceded the goal, why wait 4 minutes before the last throw of the dice? I’d have had McCann on right away – 8 minutes isn’t much time but it’s twice as much as four. The whole McCann issue is symptomatic of a deeper malaise – his record looks appalling – 40 odd appearances and no goals – but many of those have been 5 minutes late on stuck on the wing. Are we worse than other clubs at developing players? And if so, why? I could speculate, but that may be for another day.

On a slightly unrelated issue (it could perhaps be added to the “why is Scottish Football so bad” list) the crowd was tiny, and there were loads of free seats (some of them even clean and dry) yet we were forced to bunch up together. At least there’s no pandemic on the go… Apparently this was a club directive – the seats could have been made available if numbers warranted it.

So where now? If I were Ross McArthur I’d like to know what the senior players were thinking; but I’m not sure I could just go ahead and ask them. But if they aren’t buying into the Grant revolution, then the problems are only going to get worse.

I wondered about the empty seats too, MCT, and came to the conclusion that it was to keep the Pars` fans as far away as possible from the players and management when they left the field at the end of the game. This was reinforced when the stewards lined up at the edge of the empty area as full-time approached.

The most interesting thing during the first half was watching one Pars` fan having continual discussions with the stewards about sitting in empty area!

I was asked to move from that seated area and did so. Nothing to gain from arguing with the Stewards

Scottish championship football is in a dire state. Atmosphere at the game was abysmal. I arrived early. There was silence in the ground. I thought it had been called off! I don't know how clubs will survive full time with small spectator numbers. The game is on a downward spiral.
