 On a positive note.
Topic Originator: PARrot
Date:   Mon 4 Oct 14:47

After joining the sack the manager posse for the first time, I thought I'd best get back to my usual optimistic self.

How bad is it really?
Title is gone. I don't think even I am that optimistic, but if we get the right manager and go on a decent run, how long will it take to get in the mix for the playoffs.

With every team capable of taking points from the others it might not be too long before we can get hopeful again.

Are the team really that bad or just not adapting to a system that doesn't suit them?

A wee chance to be positive here. Who is gonny spoil it first 🙂

Guess this is on hold for now if Kingdom FM are right.

Really expect a formal statement if so. Otherwise it will get nasty I fear.

What's that in relation to Partrot?

Grant has the full backing of the board.

He has full backing? Thats usually a sign of upcoming sacking. The dreaded vote of confidence. Often a placeholder statement before delivering the bad news.

Heres hoping anyway!

I`ve been pretty quiet on here the last few weeks but I can`t believe he has the full backing of the board. I know the 3 games before Saturday showed tiny signs of improvement (not hard seeing as how we`ve been stinking the league out since day one) but surely to christ on high Saturday was the final straw. Not only were we absolutely terrible by all accounts but we also lost. Again.

I`m not one for shouting for statements either but if the board ARE fully behind PG then they need to explain the thinking behind their beliefs as it`s getting near impossible to understand how they can think he can fix this. And by fix this I mean not relegate us because let`s be honest we are definitely going down.

If this is true, then the board is not fit for purpose. Simple as that. If they can’t see how horrific this is, there are huge problems at the club, that go much deeper than an utterly incompetent manager with a terrible attitude.

I also struggle to believe he has the full backing of the board.

Not imminently though, the rhetoric behind such statements preceding a sacking are founded on the fact that boards usually have to give them when the team is performing poorly, if things continue to fall apart over the next few games then the managers gets sacked.

That's the thing though, a few games. The board don't say "He has the full backing" and then sack him the next day, it would've made sense for the board to say that after the Arbroath game for example and to sack him now, but if the board have said that expect him to stay in charge for a while yet.

I personally hope that it's KingdomFM putting 2+2 and equalling five, in that because he hasn't been sacked yet, it means he has the full backing. If he's not gone by tomorrow I'll be firing in an email asking what in the **** is going on.

I`m trying to stay positive. In the last few weeks...

we matched the side who are top of the league..

we matched the side who beat the team who are top of the league last week..

we matched a decent Rovers team..

A bawhair thin offside denied us points against QOS...

In a league where there is next to nothing between the top and bottom teams, you need a break here and there. We`re not getting them. I`m not saying we`re unlucky but the best teams need a break every now and again. Yes we were awful at the start of the season but I honestly feel that the defence is sorted. If we can get Dow, Thomas and Wighton on form then play-offs are not out of the question.

Every team in the league will hit a bad patch. Maybe we`ve had ours.

I agree against ICT we looked better but against Hamilton and QOTS the football on offer was rotten let's not dress it up for goodness sake.

Because it's fantasy stuff.

We've had 1 shot in target in three games? Haven't looked like we were likely to win any of those games, with us being second best in all of them. Saying we matched Raith may be true in that we got a point, but they absolutely skelped us.

I have never seen a Pars team so insipid going forward.

Which is true of every football league in the world. But the bottom club in a league do not do this very often.

We are 15 points behind the leaders after eight matches. We have scored four goals and last Saturday did not have one shot at goal. We have lost 3-0 at home twice.

Seems like there's a good bit between the top and bottom teams really.

I’d love to know which championship team is playing football to drool over. Caley can’t even beat Hamilton who are supposedly awful. ( they’re not but we only drew with them so that makes Hamilton awful in the eyes of some). Caley nicked the first 4 games 1-0- hardly convincing.

Don`t think anybody said that the Football is anything to drool over.

No goals in 4 home games and folk continue to try and take positives, delusional

I`m quite a glass half full guy regarding the Pars normally however it has to be said we are ****** rubbish & it`s staggering that anyone can suggest otherwise. Results & performances are terrible. You just can`t polish a turd.

This...no shots on goal at the weekend doesn't exactly promote much interest way of hope we are going to start picking up many points...

Understood PARrot, and I would agree the Pars squad should be strong enough to take points off any team in the league. In fact we took points off the stronger sides; it`s just that under PG we don`t look capable of actually beating any other team.

We're total stinking but a big believer that the margins are more often than not wafer thin. Momentum and confidence are so important and we have none of either. You have to wonder where we'd be if we'd started with a more rigid formation sans the errors from Mehmet and Graham. But we are where we are.

Been going to Pars games for 57 years , and i can't remember a time when I felt less connected to the club .
I can't find anything positive to say abt this season so far .
Saturday's result had an air of inevitability abt it , when qos scored , it was like oh well what's for tea tonight .
It used to hurt when the Pars lost .
Not any more , and I blame the board for the crap we've been served up this season .

Actually, I worked with a certain individual who worked aboard the HMY Brittania and he swears they did exactly that and mounted it on a plaque.
I never seen it, so even if it is not true, still a funny story.
