Grant said after the game on Tuesday that he had two players with knocks that could be struggling.
Connolly must be one and possibly, Wighton, the other ?

Or could be that Wighton was murder on Tuesday. Also, Todorov will provide more of a physical challenge to Arbroath.

If we can somehow hold on a point and Morton concede another 2 goals we’ll be off the bottom of the league.

I guess for those running the club that would constitute a brilliant weekend.

Would take a draw , but really want the win !!
2-0 of a start should be good enough to go and see the game out but no for the Pars
Lets hope we can get a winner in the second half , but I wont hold my breath

According to the BBC texts we had 2 corners and 2 free kicks after the Arbroath second goal.

Two really good finishes by O'Hasa.

We have been really quite bad though, that was us with the wind, I do worry about us against it. Outwith the goals we've created nothing.

I think it will be a long 45 mins ?

It’s often harder to play with the wind, as you tend to go long too much, but Arbroath will be well used to it and shouldn’t fall into thy trap ?

we have scored 2 goals away from home against a team that is going well in the league , so here`s hoping we can find the net a couple of times in the second half
hoping for a good 45 mins from the Team ,

We’ve turned into Alloa except the good football. I honestly though Grant would be the man to sort us out. I was really rooting for him and in a way I still am. I think the players are getting off quite lightly to be honest. We are celebrating not getting beat. That lot are honking.

Surely the manner of this defeat means it’s curtains, give the new guy an easier start against Morton.

We all wanted grant to work out but what has he got anything right at all? Can’t even scrape a draw after being 2 goals up against part time opposition.

This will be more demoralising for the players than a 1-0 or 2-1 defeat.

There is absolutely no way that anyone who is a Pars fan and has watched this match today can defend Peter Grant now.

The BoD must take action after that absolute crap today. Then again, they really shouldn't have to. Grant should do the decent thing and resign. He won't though so it's up to the BoD to pull the trigger.

Milos why should he resign?

You can’t appoint someone who didn’t apply for the job and got his team relegated last season and then expect them to walk when found they are hopelessly out of thier depth.

That’s the fault of the person who put them in the role to start with, expensive mistake that in the payoff and the his duds that we’re now stuck with.

For a while now, it has been just a question of time. That time is now. Unfortunately, whoever it is will be saddled with this inept group of players for a while.

Gutted!
False hope after 9 minutes only to see everything crumble. Why?
Give Arbroath their due: they’re a tough team to break down with no shortage of skill and brawn - notwithstanding they’re part timers. Their chasing and harrying put us constantly on the back foot and seemed to wear us down to the extent that our passing game (such as it was) went to pieces. You can easily see why they are near the top of the league.
Doesn’t help though when you try disastrous short corners that achieve nothing and result in immediate dangerous counter attacks. That, or your goalkeeper persists in rolling out the short ball or passing short to defenders who are already covered by the opposition or are in danger of being caught in possession.
Their second goal was catastrophic: OFW caught in no man’s land, flapping at fresh air and only one of our defenders at the back post against, what, three attackers?
As for the other three goals? You couldn’t complain about any of them. All were well taken.
Latterly it truly became men against boys.
The substitutions by PG were frankly worse than useless as the fourth goal proved.
I’ve been trying to remain optimistic that things will turn around but I’m finding myself siding with the ne’ersayers this evening.
No doubt now, despite his apparent commitment and determination, that PG’s coat is on the shoogly peg tonight.

First manager at our club likely to be relieved of duties without winning one competitive league game.

Not the kind of history we should be wanting to make.

He’ll leave now, can’t see it not being announced tonight.

I'm hearing you, and he has every right to wait for his pound of flesh. But how nice would it be to put his hands up and walk away? If that happened, I'd be expecting the club to respond with a modest ex gratia payment. Would at least sweeten the end of this whole sorry episode.

I still don`t think he`ll be sacked. A loss today was pretty obvious (the way we went about it wasn`t mind you) but they`ll probably give him the Morton game. He should have been away after the Ayr game though.

Don’t think I’ve ever been this disinterested in a pars team.

2-0 up I said we ain’t winning this. I would usually be raging chucking away a 2 goal lead away from home but I really couldn’t care.

I have a season ticket and have only been to 2 games. Usually barely miss a game home or away and this season I don’t even check who we are playing the following week, dont care who’s in the team and it’s that bad now I don’t even care about the score.

Been a disgraceful season so far and surely today has got to be the final straw for PG.

Not a chance. All the board has to do is to ask for his resignation or sack him and cough up the dough and let`s get on with life instead of this cryogenic situation.

Imagine not quitting a job you’ve made an bottom of not because it’s the honourable thing but because you feel you deserve some kind of financial compensation for sending a club down the pan. Costing them thousands or even millions of pounds. What a brass neck.

To be honest, just apathy with the club right now. The board made a ludicrous decision appointing Grant, now they need to hold their hands up and bring someone in who will actually have a positive impact on the club.

Your wrong zod. He didn’t even apply for the job and yet they handed it to him.

The brass neck was appointing him in the first place and somehow expecting him to be able to do the job. That’s on the club and not grant.

Pay him off and let’s try recruiting a manager not too arrogant to apply for the role next time.

A win next week with The Rovers beating Queens could see us up to eighth. That would be a great start for a new guy (even if interim) and a huge boost to the squad.

If he wants another job in football management I am hoping he will reason that he had better resign now and show that he`s not gonna be a millstone for any other club that takes him on. Otherwise who would employ him if it`s like you`ve tae get the bailifs in tae prise him oot? Or is he gonna superglue his cheek tae the managers desk?

Get rid of PG ----Yes
But what about the Squad we are left with , this is the same squad that has not managed a win away from home for over a year
and No wins in 12 now for this campaign
7 Draws are no good to man or beast , That`s why we are sitting bottom of the league and right now I can see it changing
Wish I had something positive to write for a change

As several have already stated, the squad isn’t good enough, grants signings are mostly dug meat, our new manager will need to be given funds to sign 2 or 3 players at least in January to get us out of this mess.

Sadly some of the dug meat is on 2 year deals so Grants reign will continue to hamper us for some time to come.

There is some hope tho, a good manager will get a lot more out of this squad. Thomas and ohara can score goals, defensively we will be not too bad once Connolly (grants only decent signing IMO) is fit again. Signing two players who are reasonably good in central midfield would improve the team immensely. It’s not actually all doon and gloom if the correct actions are taken. Grant out. A manager and 2 midfielders in.

I like the majority of Pars fans was totally against the appointment of a manager who had just relegated his previous club , he actually had no plus point yet was given the job without applying despite others having done so, yet what did the board and investors see in him or were they advised , looking into the Macnamara connection might reveal more

There were a lot of people commenting on how good a manager they thought he was during last season. General feeling seemed to be he would do well with a good full time squad.

The board seem to have adopted this perception too.

We are a weak side, whether a new manager can change that remains to be seen but we can`t continue with Grant. Rarely has a new managerial appointment been met with such apathy, we all kinda knew he wasn`t what we needed but it happened.
There is absolutely no excuse for some of the reported behaviour. I`m as passionate as anyone but get a grip.

You do yourself a disservice. Up till then we'd scored 13 goals in the 4 league cup games including losing 1-0 to St Mirren. Then we drew 2-2 with Morton before the first league defeat by Thistle.
You were a much better judge than me if you called it then so fair play.

Aye it was mostly the 10 conceded in 3 games that prompted the early Call, that and the relegating of the previous club but that’s just how I felt at the time.

Maybe I’m just a dummy who stumbled into getting this one right.

That’s my fear too, that they hand it to one of the coaching staff. In my opinion they would ideally be emptied too and we start again with the new mans own team. The players don’t look well coached.

Prob the reason grant got the gig, saved cash, he didn’t bring any back room staff so no need to payoff shields etc.

Hopefully the new manager gets to bring his own staff in, the club need a proper fresh start.

Fans are fickle, majority were against Grant from the get go and then an 8 minute interview with him and statements like winning the league was enough to get folk on side, that’s all it took.

Probably more miffed they fell for it.

I can’t see how Grant gets the Morton game. Regardless of the result, the damage is done, we’re better off cutting our losses now and bringing someone else in. If we don’t beat Morton at home we are in serious bother.
